to this day i still don't know why companies GLUE down batteries that are already sandwiched between layers of the phone. they probably just want you to buy a completely new phone..
Without it, the battery rattles in the phone. Companies could use small amounts of adhesive so it's easily removable and doesn't rattle, but they decide to go all the way and make it to where you have the chance of catching your phone on fire when taking the battery out.
The batteries aren't as sandwiched as you think. Samsung tried that with the Note 7 and boom. The battery will rattle around ever so slightly and you'll feel and hear it.
@@CIBERXGAMING Good point, I had a Galaxy S3 and S5 that don't rattle. Guess it just would have to do with how they fit the battery, but in their current state, without adhesive, the batteries rattle.

hey man, congrats for the video. I saw that battery as you cracked the phone wide open and I couldn't stop wondering if that battery can be safely replaced. I am from Eastern Europe, so Google doesn't directly sell their products here (Romania). Any thoughts about that? Your input would be greatly appreciated :D
If you're talking about the battery in the pixel 8 itself, then it's not the easiest to replace, no. First off, if you just want to replace the battery, you would need to get the screen off first, and even though Zach makes it seem easy, if you do it yourself (or even some less-experienced professionals) you risk breaking the screen in the process, which would set you back 235 euro. Second, the battery is secured with glue that's quite strong, and unlike Samsung and Apple phones of late, the pixel doesn't have those "magic pull taps" which easily remove the glue, so you'd have to pry it out, which could possibly ignite it and most likely break it, but if you're only job is to replace the battery, I guess that breaking the old battery wouldn't matter. And if you really want a pixel, you could try one of those firms that offer a service where you basically buy a product that only ships to within Germany (for example) andin the check-out process give the company's adress, but off course your own name, and then the company ships your package to your actual own adress (international). It's a workable workaround that does seem pretty legit, but I haven't ever used it myself to be honest, and some of them also have a maximum value for the contents shipped, so I don't know if that would even work, but it beats having to travel to Germany and back, just to buy a phone, lol. Anyway, good luck!
The small dents in the back of the foil covering the display may explain why so many of us (myself included) are seeing bumps in the same locations on our displays. These bumps are difficult to spot, but if your phone has them they can be seen under certain light conditions and if you hold your phone at certain angles. I have reported the issue to Google and have asked for a warranty extension. There does not seem to be an impact on display quality on my phone, but I am concerned about premature failure of the display. RMA units that have been replaced seem to be seeing the same issue on the replacement phones. You may want to look at your display and report the issue to Google if the bumps are present on your phone.

What would really be cool is if the temperature sensor could be like a thermal camera to help detect leaks around doors and windows so you would know where you need weatherstripping.
Jerry, thank you for your service, love your videos. How can I get one of those shirts.?
Great Video! Blend red, orange and yellow together for a color name of "Intense Autumn" 😊
Yes! I totally agree that the person who designed the battery removal is really unaware. Seriously.
a 90s Nintendo styled transparent Pixel would be so sick
FDA is about accuracy. HIPPA is it's own compliance game. FDA costs a fortune to get through and moves at a snails pace. HIPPA is about the data management in the device.
All manufacturers should pay attention to your videos. IMO
I can sense the absolute annoyance radiating through my phone screen when that battery removal segment started. I think my phone is throttling now 😂
4:45 Whoever designed tabs that tiny needs to be fired.
Imagine giving the world's best minds in 1945 a modern smartphone. It would be just inconceivable to them even after explanation and a teardown.
Jerry Rigged pixel kicked we picked 😂😂😂
Thanks for the teardown video👍
Jerry is number 1 lots of love and respect from SA
Jerry back at it again
8:01 The PinePhone, Shiftphone, and Librem 5 are also extremely repairable.
8:44 Red. 🔴
While it is amazing to hear that this phone has partnership with iFixit for part repairability, having to open the screen to access the parts is seriously bad. 😬 And a soldered USB C port, too? 😬 Again, not great for repairability. Google ought to make something with a back cover that comes off easily. 💡
Transparent sounds good as long as the inside could display vibrant bright colors 😊
1:12 You're selling inmate shirts?
What if those tabs are like command strips 🎉 ❣️pull apart
Google listens me also every day you speak something near your phone and boom there is an ad regarding the same product 😂 so I feel uncomfortable about this google listening to every one
Impressiv Google! Good Work!!
