The object 268 in war thunder is extremely good once you spade it. This thing is, for some reason, lower than the Doom turtle even tho it performs better in every aspect. The shell has a whooping 1KG of explosive mass, meaning anything you pen should be erased off the map. Overall, for being a cased tank destroyer, it performs better than the IS-3 and even IS-4m.

Regarding your description, I disagree that the Object 268 is objectively just a stronger T95.
Armor: Even though it sits at a BR where it matters less, the T95 can quite literally ignore the threat of kinetic projectiles as even APDS will have difficulty penning it frontally aside from the mantlet (and even then, it can only keep destroying the gun, which is not ideal from afar). The Object 268 is more liable to damage frontally. Even a Maus has to use its APHEDS shell to pen just that mantlet, because its frontal armor is so thick and its cupola is an RNG shot with APHEBC (you have to be pinpoint accurate for the fuze to activate). That's one of the main reason it's 7.0.
Visibility: The T95 is a lowly pancake, the Object 268 is like a Soviet strongman you would find on propaganda posters.
Gun: Their guns are kinda sidegrades to each other. Object 268 enjoys a gun with much better angled performance in exchange for flat armor performance while the T95 has a gun with more flat pen and a better reload. Velocity is also better, making it more ideal for sniping.
Explosive mass: Yeah, the Object 268 has a far bigger explosive mass, but what good does it do when the T95/T28 already has 177g, essentially giving you a one-shot on every single pen? Only appliance there is for it is when you shoot next to open tops, which are much rarer at this BR already.
Mobility: This is the main thing the Object 268 shines in as it's a pretty mobile tank for its own good. But unfortunately, it's one of its least desirable advantages. Like you're playing a tank destroyer and a casemate at that. You already accepted that you're only gonna play a sniper or line holder position in the match. You already have the gun capable of punching through nearly every vehicle at your BR with ease and oneshot them. What would you need the mobility for? And that's why I think the T28 is an incredibly good premium aswell that trades mobility for a lower BR, because for casemate tank destroyers, mobility may be a luxury, but not a necessity at all.
Though Soviet 14.5mm definitely goes pew-pew when it comes to CAS.
The t95 has 0 mobility, this thing is really mobile. This thing also has a rangefinder so you can snipe with it. Overall this is not even close to a t95, way better in every aspect and one of the best 6.7 tanks
@@ThiccYoroi You don't get my point. How tf does mobility matter in a casemate tank when the point of your gameplay is to be as armored as possible and/or as sneaky as possible? Which in turn only reduces you to a line holder or sniper role.
Object 268 just simply has the benefit of a line holder a bit better, because it can get to those quicker, but that's it. It's still far more vulnerable against kinetic shots than the T28/T95.
And while the rangefinder is great, it doesn't matter so long as you can get lolpenned by some things while you wait for that rangefinding. The T28/T95 doesn't have to worry about it that much.
@@hunlepto2239having played both, I need to agree with yoroi that the object 268 is just plain better. The T95 can’t turn for shit, is really slow, is a huge target and more people know where to shoot it. The large calibre MG on the object also helps A LOT when it comes to breaking barrels or immobilizing enemies. The t95 is also a MASSIVE target for CAS.
