For those who happens to live in Europe and want a cheaper alternative to something like Crye, Patagonia and Arc'teryx I recommend to look at Clawgear Body Armour Shirt Mk-III which is made out of 60% modacryl flame- Retardant/fire-Resistant fabric in the torso area.
PFG (Potomac) Advanced Combat Shirt Gen II is made out of a flame-retardant/fire-resistant fabric as well..
Personally I switch between the Crye G3 and the UBACS Mk.III from Bulldog Tactical .. The UBACS (Under Body Armour Combat Shirt) is dirt cheap and perfect for training and exercise..

I did a month at BAMC in SA TX in the mid-80s in the burn unit as an anesthesiology resident. 100 degree F operating rooms.
The only skin graft source was the scalp on these 19 year olds that got burned in a tent in Central/South America? Damn.
We saw civilians and military with horrific 3rd degree burns. In many cases from every day things.
Like putting gasoline in a hot lawn mower.
I did that a thousand times as a kid mowing lawns for some spending money.
Lightning strikes. Very pernicious as the outward appearance of the damage covered the horrible life-threatening tissue damage under the skin.
Ladders that hit power lines. Ceiling fans that decided to seize up in the middle of the night, overheat the electric motor windings and drop onto the bed.
The worst was people who came in relatively pain free. Alert and oriented. That we all knew weren’t going to survive. And telling them to say their goodbyes in the next 24-48 hours max,
I was active duty from 1984 - 1991. An incredibly lucky time for a military medical officer. I went to Germany during Desert Storm and there were hardly any casualties in that war.
My Dad flew ~ 105 mission over North Vietnam in 1968-69. He was a real warrior. Dodged the SAMs. And came home.
I still think you’re an MD that went to USUHS or the HPSC program like I did? Maybe you tried it and went a different direction. It’s cool no matter what. I can understand it. Believe me.
It’s just a gut instinct. Your early videos and occasional choice of words seem like a bit of a “tell”.
    Thanks for the videos.
    They are much appreciated.
    Godspeed GT
    MM

Great videos. Sound advice, professionally made - thank you.
Would be interested to hear your views on layering and what to carry/not carry.
In the uk we tend to steer towards 'be bold, start cold' when on mission, with a lot of guys carrying a single jacket rated for cold weather as a 'warmers' layer. Gore tex is generally perceived by the 'old school' as a poor tactical choice due to sound, albeit therenis a lot of difference in opinion at the moment. Given your credentials, training and experience I would love to hear your thoughts.

I would like to ask why in this particular video on " Combat Shirts " you did not mention by name one of the military issued versions the " MASSIF COMBAT SHIRT " is there a specific reason for this? Some of the Shirts you reviewed have most of the same characteristics. Just wondering.

As I am now too damn old to grab a ruck and go for a 12 mile walk, I just turned 64, I still use my combat shirts when riding my Harley, never too old for that.
Don't get me wrong, I still have my battle rattle and yes it does still fit, sort of, I just don't get the chills like I used to when I wear it.
I do however wear the shirts when I go hunting. Sitting in a deer stand in Florida even in November can get a little warm. Keeps me from sweating like the pigs I hunt and feels great when we do get a random breeze.

I find these to be good workout shirts at the gym. They are very breathable and tapered to make you look better. The zip-up collar helps when doing shoulder and squats when resting the bar on your neck.

Feel like these shirts that are a solid color and fr would be great from welding. The built in elbow pads and the knee pads in the pants would be amazing to have

one, crye catches on fire for sure, I was using a quickie saw and lit some old crye pants(with frays) on fire. two the high collar with the Combat top keeps brass out, 3 the high should be worn popped because you will look cool. 4 the Combat top is better then a field top but the field top the fabric keeps the hit brass from burning the piss out of you in the house or flat range. good video brother

So there I was, falling asleep to the sound of your voice like always. I woke up on this video, and I swear the first thing I heard was "I like the shorter ones." At that moment, I knew I found acceptance. I found a home.

Great video, it's interesting that you put airsoft manufacturer into comparison, in the region where I live, FFI or other airsoft manufacturer's product are more like a cheaper substitute since not everyone is willing to spend 200 dollar or more on combat apparel. By the way, I know some people despise airsoft, but in my country, law abiding citizens can't possess firearms, airsoft guns are the closest we can get when it comes to training.

1026367 so why train with guns if you cannot own them? You cant use an airsoft rifle to defend yourself no matter how much training you have..

1026367...Question, and I mean no disrespect, but if you are not allowed to own firearms why are you training?

Good video..I think you covered the gist of them. What about Dri-Fire? They make (imo) the best fire resistant apparel out there. I've used both the Fortrex and Nav- Air combat shirts and their combat pants. Very pleased, great fit, albeit expensive stuff.

I'm a bit more knowledgeable then most on combat shirts actually which is what grabbed my attention to this video. I find the video informative to your mostly air soft viewers. The rest of us who are gear junkies (for real gear) or have an actual need for the properties of the garments are left in the dark a little bit. For example the in depth material properties were left out such as how well it was going to hold up to fade and wear, if certain environmental factor are likely change the performance of the fabric, is the fabric noisy etc... Could just be me looking for the hard to find information. Over all a informative and entertaining video that keeps one engaged.

Tru-Spec makes a nice combat shirt, both in standard and short sleeve versions. I chose short sleeve, because if I'm wearing a combat shirt it's probably going to be hot enough to warrant short sleeves.

Thanks, Sir, for the Information and Intelligence ( I2) on the Combat Shirts. I AM Prior Service USMC and US Army ( 1987-1998), and, obviously, We were not issued these High-Speed, Low- Drag Shirts. At 50 going on 51, I have been blessed with an OD Green, MultiCam and OCP, Desert MARPAT and Woodland Camouflage M-81 BDU Combat Shirts. I wear them under a OD Green or Black T- Shirt. Thanks Again for the video.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🗽🔫

As a clarification on the Comment I Myself made on the video on Combat Shirts, the OD Green, Black and Sand - colored T- Shirts are worn under the Combat Shirts ( MultiCam/OCP, OD Green, Arid MultiCam, Woodland Camouflage M-81) , not over them.🇺🇸🦅🗽🔪🗡️⚔️💣🔥💥💀☠️
