LOVE Ed Gordon! He is who he is and whether on the grind or not, I respect the hustle. Charlemagne dominated the conversation a bit too much, but Envy, whatever it is, I care.
Envy tends not to read the book before interview so he isn’t able to contribute to the conversation. He talks about going to Hampton but he tends to be lazy when it become to become informed/educated except when it a song, a jogging suit, or when he is talking about cars/real estate.
Finally someone who is willing to talk openly about our internal dysfunctions as a community. We have to first deal with our internal issues. Loni Love comment it’s being said here with another presentation same message. I also agree with Iyanla POV because men are a reflection of the women in their culture and vis versa. Leadership is loud but lacking strategy and an end game for the most part. We idolize things that are detrimental to our community. I get that charla is trying to change the narrative “black men don’t cheat” but how can we heal what we don’t reveal. I would like him to use his platform to concretely addresss the importance of shedding behaviors of boys and acquiring that of real men since he has been transitioning throughout the years. Also get some women who can talk about the black female experience and how we ourselves can perpetuate the dysfunction.
