Dave, many thanks for this research. The T-nuts that you reference work perfectly...I used them to mount my new grab handles. After mounting a few things, I ordered some in M6 size as well, since smaller items don't need such robust hardware (and drilling out the smaller things is a bit of a pain). Thanks again for the information. 👍
With my M1 on order I had started looking at buying T-nuts and immediately stumbled across this sizing issue. Tune told me they used the McMaster-Carr Tnut but I found that these are more expensive to buy in small quantities than buying a bag from Tune. And another Tune owner had noted that the other-sourced Tnuts they bought didn't fit. So thanks for figuring this out and finding a source that works. I think I was too hung up on finding them in stainless steel.
I also wanted stainless, but after using these, the nickel plated carvon steel are great. Zero corrosion, and I've had them in 130f AZ metal heat. Removed 15 today and looked at them all and rails, no corrosion.
That is a great catch, I do see that in the product description text. However, on the 2nd picture, it shows the height as 5.7mm for the part that has to fit inside slot. That's what I based my order off... they do work for me and fit, so mine at least were not 7mm. But they also have a comment in their description saying their measurements might be iff 1-2mm, not great. For the price, I like the risk for a bag of 50, but I could see a batch being too high. Folks will have to decide... but they do work for me. Great catch, thanks!

I agree on the m6. I've only had to drill my grab handles so far though, everything else has had m8 holes.

The Tnuts in that Amazon link says they are 19 x 9.8 x 7 mm. Isn't that 7mm thickness too thick?
