Thanks for watching! The cover photo is in Arizona but the little clip in the video is on a beach in Baja looking up towards what I believe is the Sierra de San Pedro Martir range.
I have an Alucab canopy camper that does awesome in the wind given it's a wedge and I can point it into the wind, but damn that bed looks huge comparatively!
Have you had the opportunity to use it in a driving rain? If so any water intrusion anywhere? I’m seriously looking at the tune and the project M. My concern with the tune are the plastic corner pieces, not that they will break but the expansion and contraction rate between the plastic and the aluminum. I’m afraid the aluminum will contract and expand a lot more than the plastic and cause the bonding to pull free and cause leaks. There has been some talk of leak problems. I absolutely love the look of the tune!
Thanks for watching! I had read about some leaking issues that they were having when we picked ours up. They have since taken some additional steps to prevent water intrusion. Our was leaking but we just brought it in for them to fix it under warranty. We did get a light rain without any issue but haven't had the joy of a downpour again yet. We're hoping that it's ready for it now.
Thanks for watching! We only bought 4 but always have them under the bed unless it's raining. I guess we could have tried them with the wind but closed everything up during the night.
Thanks for watching! I would imagine so. I think i read about some folks using vinyl wraps to do it. Luckily we roll with the sun when we're traveling so it has worked out fine as is.
@@DrifterJourneyassume u have to do your own oil changes and standard maintenance or take Tune M1 off bed when u have to take vehicle in for maintenance repairs? My mechanic doesn’t think his lift will fit TuneM1 on top of my Ram 1500. He also said his mechanics don’t like changing oil on their knees. Lol. Really wanted one but being a disabled vet this factor and MPG scares me driving Hemi V8. Might just have to go w/ Leer Topper Shell. Also having to break everything down to leave camp for a few is also of concern. W/ Leer Shell I could just get up and go. Same thing goes if u have unwanted guess; thus are u just gonna ride off w/ TuneM1 camper up in an emergency? Off roading is another concern. So much to think about; as I was really on board of getting one in the beginning but for $15k what happens when your truck dies? Gotta get same truck to accommodate TuneM1. Hmmm…. I will say TuneM1 it’s the best of the line in it’s class but unfortunately for me based off the above it’s not practical.
@demonhunter-skydomeatlanti1746 I've had mine at the dealer for warranty work and they didn't say anything about it. I'd think it's still shorter than a full size truck when closed so I don't know why they wouldn't be able to lift it. I do my own oil changes so haven't had to figure that out. As for a quick escape, I guess I'd drive off with it open if I had to. I'd like to think that I'm prepared in back if things get bad. I can drop it in less than a minute if needed also.
Regarding the tent material. Four Wheel Campers offer the extra insulation package which adds that additional layer. Does Tune offer the same? Is it needed? How's condensation?
Thanks for watching! Tune has released an insulation package and also a heater option since we picked ours up. It would be nice to have but isn't a deal breaker if you have winter camp gear. Condensation will definitely occur in cold without it.
Thanks for watching. There were a few reasons. I liked that they are a smaller local company. The big bed option really did it for us because I'm tall and we have a big dog with us. Basically the extra space at a comparable price from a local(ish) company is what led us in this direction. I haven't really messed with a Project M in person but I also read some reviews about them just slapping them together. That was a turn off for us but I still haven't seen one personally to say. Let us know if you have any other questions and let Tune know we helped out if you do choose them.
We have been able to keep all our stuff up there when we close it. We have 4 pillows that we spread around and it closes without any problems. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching! It was really windy so I thought I'd share how it was doing. It was definitely last minute nonsense that I put together on this one. The Tune did great though.
Looked like the Sangre de Cristo Range? 🤔

Thanks for watching! The giant bed is what sold us on the Tune.
Get an anemometer if you’re going to report on wind speed. This was not very informative.

Do you have the vinyl inserts in all your windows?
Thanks for watching! We only bought 4 but always have them under the bed unless it's raining. I guess we could have tried them with the wind but closed everything up during the night.
Very helpful video! Another thing I'd like to know: is there no way to black out the roof? I don't really want to wake up at 6 am every day,

What made you buy the M1 over a Project M? Thanks for making the video!

Thanks for the video. Have you been able to keep your bedding/pillows in place when you drop the top?
We have been able to keep all our stuff up there when we close it. We have 4 pillows that we spread around and it closes without any problems. Thanks for watching!
Is the roof three separate pieces or is it one continuous piece?
It's looks to be 3 pieces separated by metal with track in it.
@@DrifterJourney thank you !
You're welcome.
How's gas mileage with the tune?
Thanks for watching! It's not too bad. We made a video about it if you want to check it out. ruclips.net/video/PaSxfkEjTFQ/видео.html
