Lagos is divided into the mainland and the Isand. On the Island, there are sevaral Islands, connected by bridges. Lagos Island, Victoria Island, Ikoyi, Lekki are all in the Island.

Don't generalize the transport system cos asides this rough Danfo buses, the Bus Rapid transit system BRT, the Mobile ride apps like Bolt etc, Lagos Rides, upcoming light rail as well are good. Anyway, the government is planning to phase them out systematically. Last time they tried but the operators resisted vehimently.
There are other means of transport ,we have brt, blue government taxis and small blue shuttle busses. Also we just finished a light rail system which wil soon work

Yes i agree that Allen Avenue is a business district with almost all Nigerian banks and telecoms companies but it's very famous and later became a Redlight District as well with awesome night life. So many clubs, strip clubs etc I think Fela Kuti once lived on that street.
The accident was not in Nairobi. It was in a place called Londiani, a truck lost control and rammed into bystanders and vehicles parked at the stage 55 dead and many injured.

I thought our transport system is worse until I saw this p.t.s in lagos. Actually majority of the public service vehicles looked road unworthy n not safe,at all
This Danfo is one of the oldest means of transportation in Lagos, the govt have been trying to face them out but there's been a running battle between the operators and govt. However there's multimodal transport system, which is the Bus Rapid transport system (BRT) in Lagos, a light rail system which becomes operational from August 2023, then the Lagos ride (blue cabs)water transport, and other ride hailing apps. It's a matter of choice.
That church you see in lagos island, was built by the Brazilian slave returnees who settled in Lagos. By the way, Lagos island is the first central business center before most corporate headquarters started moving to Victoria island city, ikoyi city and lekki (lekki was an island before it was sand filled to link it up with Victoria island). Meanwhile, i hope you will be able to explore eko Atlantic unlike last time? What you should do is at the entrance, if you're asked by the security guards as to were you are going. You can tell them you're going to the restaurant at eko pearl. I believe you will get entrance to that place. Don't go with bikes, or else you will be denied entrance.
in Trinidad we have korean and japanese mini buses called MaxiTaxi its a bit more uptodate and airconditioned than these buses. maybe time for them to upgrade a bit to add some more comfort to the ride
Why do they allow public transport vehicles to have benches instead of proper seats. This must be very uncomfortable though a gud experience for African Tigress. In Kenya your vehicle wud be declared unroadworthy
