To be fair, being a pure ICE has its advantages. The weight savings of not having to lug around a huge battery greatly improves cornering performance, and this engine/drivetrain is good enough to pretty much negate the low end torque response advantages electric motors have. The high end torque advantage of an ICE is also helpful when you have lots of downforce as it'll help cut through air resistance at high speeds more than electric motors could.

Koeniggsegg have always been allround performance monsters. Relatively light weight with well engineers suspensions. Unlike Bugatti for instance, whi genuinely are only interested in straight line speed.

So impressive here. Amazing design and performance overall. One of the coolest little things is the gauge cluster turning with the wheel and graphics inside the cluster adjusting to the angle of the wheel as it turns.

From 2017-2021 yes, not any longer since rimac is now #1. Buggati, rimac, mclaren are all much more successful and more iconic brands than koenigsegg. Koenigsegg couldn't even reach 250 mph in 2005, absolutely pathetic.

To be honest, i doubt bugatti sees koenigsegg as a competitor in the sense of lap time atleast, bugattis never been good at tracks, the top speed records, and acceleration records will always be a rivalry though, the tourbillon doesn't seem like its gonna set any records, looks more like their going for luxury rolls royce mix with pagani lately. We'll see what happens though
While id consider myself lucky to be ever able to afford even one tire that they fit to this car, I'm in awe of just how Koenigsegg leave no stone unturned. In particular, I love the way the dash display rotates like a gyro when the wheel is turned, so the read out is the correct way up for the driver at al times. Brilliant

He hit the limiter and that caused a bit under 0.2s off drop in the lap time. You can see that data from the timer display

The incredible car and lap aside. Thank you for a decent perspective for us. A realistic FOV, fixed camera that really shows the gforces the car and driver are going through. Great lap, car and onboard

So impressive here. Amazing design and performance overall. One of the coolest little things is the gauge cluster turning with the wheel and graphics inside the cluster adjusting to the angle of the wheel as it turns.

come on, it's only by a tenth of a second,koenigsegg can reclaim the record pretty easily if they want to coz clearly markus made a lot of mistakes in this run and they're mistakes that can be dealt with.

From 2017-2021 yes, not any longer since rimac is now #1. Buggati, rimac, mclaren are all much more successful and more iconic brands than koenigsegg. Koenigsegg couldn't even reach 250 mph in 2005, absolutely pathetic.

Of course not. They do their own thing most of the time. I feel they could get a heap more of performance from their basic designs, with Porsche/AMG levels of obsession and race experience.

Eggs are light, they ought to be faster every meter around every track, by a good margin.
Maybe, The new RB17 by Adrian Newey will outperform the Jesko on nearly all tracks, but the Jesko has some insane top speeds.

@@N0neofyourbusiness. Was there even a single car in the same realm as the jesko that tried to set a record? i don't think so. The Taycan Turbo GT has way less hp and weighs 1000kg more almost. Pretty sure a Valkyrie, Bugatti Bolide or AMG ONE could set similar times. Hopefully we will see in the future.

Buggati has hold the tenure of the #1 hyper car company for a decade whereas koenigsegg didn't even do it for half of the amount of time compared to them
To be honest, i doubt bugatti sees koenigsegg as a competitor in the sense of lap time atleast, bugattis never been good at tracks, the top speed records, and acceleration records will always be a rivalry though, the tourbillon doesn't seem like its gonna set any records, looks more like their going for luxury rolls royce mix with pagani lately. We'll see what happens though

While id consider myself lucky to be ever able to afford even one tire that they fit to this car, I'm in awe of just how Koenigsegg leave no stone unturned. In particular, I love the way the dash display rotates like a gyro when the wheel is turned, so the read out is the correct way up for the driver at al times. Brilliant
So so glad to see the Koenigsegg team start to stretch the legs of this amazing piece of engineering

@@divinasi0n true lol, although the AMG 1 didn't go all out on its lap.. and the AMG 1 is slightly better balanced with the F1 layout that the Old RWD NSX came close to possessing.
@@pistonfury I won't claim to know about the balance of either cars and I don't know how close the Jesko was to the limit, but it did look good around here. Is the AMG One also better balanced in terms of centre of gravity and aero balance, as far as you know? Or is it just front/rear weight distribution that it supposedly exceeds in?
