Listening to this again I can hear quite a lot of 50s style swing / rockabilly drumming in Gar's playing. In the last 10 years I've listened to a lot of 50s music and there was a certain loose but tight exuberance to a lot of 50s players. They had honed swinging chops but were also having a lot of fun. That's how Gar plays.
