The visual callbacks to the Mega Man 8 and Ruby Spears intros are phenomenal. And having Cut Man be the implied "man on the ground" for Wily to make sure Proto Man stays on target is an excellent touch considering how he's the closest to the brothers in creation number next to Roll.
In the album when Protoman starts singing it feels so powerful and carries such weight. That Batman-esque landing with his cloak conveys that really well. I also like the touch of Protoman noticing Light in the crowd like the original lyric notes describe.
Love it. You did a great job of combining the Classic Mega Man aesthetic with the bleak, oppressive Protomen world. (I like that you combined the Robot Master designs with the ones from that official music video from a while back. Elec Man in particular looks great, and I like how weirdly menacing Cut Man comes off.)
This is impressive. I always had problems imagining the scene of this specific song, there were so many "dead spaces" on the narrative and it's a blessing you managed to fill them in a good way. If you're planning to do more, I'll be looking forward, cuz you made a great job here
@Crocky when I hear "dead spaces in the narrative" that makes me wonder if they read the story attached to the lyrics (especially when the lyrics are not on all the songs on spotify). Without the lyrics, there are some big jumps and things you wouldn't know if you listen to just the songs or read the wiki page, hence my asking
I love this? I especially love how you show Blues' feelings through his sweeping motions as opposed to facial expressions and how Rock shows his emotions through his face? And the reveal of the scar from his battle and then showing when he was like rock and MWAHHH Its so good my god
While I do love Protomen, I think that this universe's Protoman is pretty much full of shit and is a self-serving a-hole. What do he want people to do, throw a tin can? They'll get eviscerated, electrocuted, every bone crushed, frozen into a block of ice, scorched and finally blown into bloody bits if they tried to do anything. Of course, that is the sin of Dr. Light in this universe, he built his son as a tool and sent him to fight. He tried to teach Rock the lesson he failed to impart on Blues but the lesson didn't catch, at least not yet. I love all of the details; the mixture of normal interpretations and Protomen-specific renditions of the Robot Masters, the art style is pretty nice in my opinion, the battles between Mega Man and several of the others make specific use of what we can see in Mega Man 8 and the Ruby-Spears cartoon, you got Mega Man looking amazing and equally perfect, Proto Man had a hole in his chest that was used amazingly well for the scene, you used Proto Man jumping to line up with the drums kicking in-- There is so much I love about this!!! My only """issues""" I have with this, with three pairs of quotation marks to denote any sincerety, are that I'm not sure if Cut Man actually does make it out to run away. That and...I don't really consider this an animatic. Here's why: this is FAR too detailed and complicated and amazingly well-made for me to think of it as an animatic. Then again, I've only seen very bare-bones animatics done, but I'd argue this is closer to an entire music video, and I LOVE it no matter what this is. If this was from just over a month ago and you started over a year ago, this is ABSOLUTELY a good reason to never give up on your dreams!~

The designs are fucking FANTASTIC for a cyber-punkish, Megaman 1. To say nothing of the second action scene recreating the MM8 cinematic intro through the frames...absolutely fantasic stuff.

Today I listened to the first album of the Protomen, I really enjoyed this song in particular but didn't really have a clear vision of what it would look like as an animation that would give it enough justice. This was REALLY good! And I enjoyed it just as much!
