I think the reason humanity won’t rebel against Wiley is because they’re afraid. They’ve most likely seen, from watching Protoman die and MegaMan abandoning them, what comes of it. They know they’ll likely get blown up (Bomb Man), crushed (Guts Man), cut to pieces (Cut Man), electrocuted (Elec Man), frozen (Ice Man) or burned to death (Fire Man). Maybe if they overcame that fear, there would be hope for them.
They're as much right as they are wrong. Protoman did fail them, but because they refused to stand and fight. The duality is kinda impressive; Wily made them apathetic and resentful to the machines, and when a machine tried to save them, they were apathetic to his downfall. "Why do you cry for him?" tells it all. They don't understand why his own brother would care, he was evil, they're both machines, why be upset? They are the dead, because they are already dead inside. Buuuuut, at the same time, Mega Man walks away from literal, innocent children being gunned down alongside their parents, soooo... yeah... nobody is a hero in this story.

I love it, but I always imagined there was action going on while they're shouting back and forth at each other... like shooting, and dodging and leaping off of rubble and stuff, and then when it comes to "YOU WILL NEVER HAVE ANOTHER HERO, YOU WILL NEVER HAVE ANOTHER CHANCE" it's when megaman has him basically outmaneuvered and ready to land the decisive shot. Also I know the concept art had protoman with a gatling gun but I think him having a plasma weapon would make for better visuals too... shit blowing up everywhere, humans cowering in fear as two god-like entities clash in a chaotic and terrifying flurry of light and sound, shockwaves blowing frightened onlookers to their knees and showering them with rubble.
HOLY SHIT AWESOME!!! I genuinely teared up a little at Protoman's face when he said, "If these people tell this story..." Please let me know if/when you upload an updated WIP!
I like what you did with this for the most part, though there's one little section I'd like to nitpick: The part where Protoman's shouting at the crowd (Starting with "YOU WILL NEVER HAVE ANOTHER HERO") really could use some way of conveying Protoman's emotion as he's saying all that a little more. Since he's wearing the helmet covering his face, the way I'd probably have recommended doing this is emphasizing his eyes showing his anger in the moment. As is, the shot there feels a little static and lacking in emotion. But again, it's still a damn good animatic.
The album is the wartapes found in the rubble of the aftermath. It's supposed to sound that way. The album does sound a lot cleaner on the CD version though. Perhaps youtube compression mangled it.
yes, it's a bit short, it was a school project and unfortunately I didn't have time to make or animate the final scenes, but I hope one day to be able to animate the complete song with better art

the posters at the start. Took me a second to realize that was the Protomen-verse version of the Mettools. That was really creative. Props.
Proto is a bit of a hypocrite. He turned his back on humanity for refusing to help him thus becoming the very thing he despises.
God I love when Megaman embraces Proto's body in anguish like that... He's holding him so preciously while his mind is shattered.
Finally someone did a animation for this song, it's one of my favorites from the Protomen.

I absolutely love this album. This and The Stand are my favorite songs. I wish they would make a music video from this album.
