I've never seen them live, but I bought Act I on CD back in the day and it's SO GOOD. "Unrest in the House of Light" has to be one of my fav rock songs ever.

Seen them about 20 times and been to dinner with them. Any time they are on the west coast I go to every show. Love them. Panther is such a underrated singer.
Gotta love the Protomen, I heard of them thanks to I Fight Dragons almost a decade ago and holy shit they're amazing. Their live album is such an amazing piece of musical work.
honestly, any song they cover somehow sounds BETTER than the original, such as "Because the night" (originally by Patti Smith) and "The Trooper" (originally by Iron Maiden)
You know I am going to go out on a limb here and say that there is a sort of sheer absolute unfiltered raw joy that only a drummer can completely demonstrate when playing their instrument. And I am not saying that that joy doesn't exist among the other instrument players, but the demonstration of that? I mean look at this guy! To see a man love what he does the way this man does? I mean if you are even interested in playing drums for God's sake go get a kit and freakin do it! First time viewer, fan forever! Subscribed!!!!!!!!!! Protomen forever!
Thank you for the cover, it really did cheer me up. I used to listen to the protomen in school, you brought back so many memories. Love the protomen , and love you. - from a 20yo french boy
Fantastic video, just saw them in concert a week before the time of writing this comment. Wish that my homies and I watched this in prep for their concert.
After 10 odd years of being a fan, I FINALLY got to see the Protomen live at MAGFest and you guys… this man is right. They are absolutely insane live. You need to check them out if you can get into a show.
Seen them live twice at a little hole in the wall venue in Oklahoma City. They are magnificent! If you get the chance to see them live then at the end of the set start a chant of "One more song" over and over and then subtly transition to "Vi-et-nam". The drummer was so confused by this.
Would that place happen to have been The Conservatory? I went to two of their shows there and it was insanely hype for such a small place, honestly some of the most fun I've ever had.
@@Crunkman2k YES! I can't remember the years. I think the second time they came was on the Act II tour. They had Urizen open for them and they had this giant trash bag monster that they fought on stage. Can't remember if that was the show with the guy in the gumpy costume or if it was the first time they came to town. Both shows were wild!
@@GryphonIndustrial I don't remember the trash bag monster, but I definitely remember VIETNAM! Think the Night of Queen album was either out or coming soon at the second one.
They’re doing a concert near me next month with a group called Makeup and Vanity Set and I’m seriously thinking of going. Though, I’ll almost certainly going to the Anamanaguchi concert at the same venue a month after.
One of the first times I saw you was on your stream where Light Up the Night came on and you put the shades on singing along then you got a Kazoo out and did the solo. For the life of me can't find it on youtube. Was so awesome to see.
I think it's criminal that it skipped right over keep quiet but continues with might up the night Could you imagine all three being played back to back
I saw them live at Pax Prime in Seattle and it was an unforgettable experience. I've seen Metallica live and I would put the Protomen up there as the cream of the crop.

Protomen good... very good! Catch them in concert if you can. Trust me... it is completely worth it!

The Good Doctor is such a frickin' good song.
I also love their cover of The Trooper from the album "The Cover Up"
love the cover up, and their night of queen is also amazing!
Figured if there's one band that can turn The8bitDrummer into The8BitVocalist, it'd be The Protomen hahaha
Literally my favorite band, hope they release act 3 at some point in the next 5 years.

Love Protomen and watching you enjoy and play along is awesome
Not including Keep Quiet in between Breaking Out and Light Up the Night?? Wild! The best triptych in their whole body of work.
The Hounds is one of my favorites off of this album full of bangers. Its so damn swanky.

Little late to this one but i heard of the protomen thanks to video game high school(2012) and has been my favorite band ever since.
What I love about this one is it's just pure frickin' joy, you're just jamming to the music and have an absolute ball the whole time.
I don't even Megaman and I LOVE Protomen Act 2. I've been wanting to hear you cover Breaking Out and Light Up the Night for ages, thank you!

Stumbled on this video. Reanimator would be proud. Hell of a drummer here, and your love for Protomen is so apparent and infectious.
