I've never seen them live, but I bought Act I on CD back in the day and it's SO GOOD. "Unrest in the House of Light" has to be one of my fav rock songs ever.
Acts 1 and 2 being Mega Man rock operas is honestly genius.

Gotta love the Protomen, I heard of them thanks to I Fight Dragons almost a decade ago and holy shit they're amazing. Their live album is such an amazing piece of musical work.

You know I am going to go out on a limb here and say that there is a sort of sheer absolute unfiltered raw joy that only a drummer can completely demonstrate when playing their instrument. And I am not saying that that joy doesn't exist among the other instrument players, but the demonstration of that? I mean look at this guy! To see a man love what he does the way this man does? I mean if you are even interested in playing drums for God's sake go get a kit and freakin do it! First time viewer, fan forever! Subscribed!!!!!!!!!! Protomen forever!

I adore The Protomen. It's been way too long since I listened to their albums, thank you for motivating me to give them another listen.
After 10 odd years of being a fan, I FINALLY got to see the Protomen live at MAGFest and you guys… this man is right. They are absolutely insane live. You need to check them out if you can get into a show.
What I love about this one is it's just pure frickin' joy, you're just jamming to the music and have an absolute ball the whole time.
The Hounds is one of my favorites off of this album full of bangers. Its so damn swanky.

Seen them live twice at a little hole in the wall venue in Oklahoma City. They are magnificent! If you get the chance to see them live then at the end of the set start a chant of "One more song" over and over and then subtly transition to "Vi-et-nam". The drummer was so confused by this.
Stumbled on this video. Reanimator would be proud. Hell of a drummer here, and your love for Protomen is so apparent and infectious.

I remember being introduced to the protonmen by a Metal Gear Solid IV retrospective. After that I looked them up and listened to them heavily. I was able to pick up their collector’s LP. The case was a frikin popup book!

You made me realize that I never played a single Protomen song on the drums (I had to sell mine to move) and now I'm sad.
I saw them live at Pax Prime in Seattle and it was an unforgettable experience. I've seen Metallica live and I would put the Protomen up there as the cream of the crop.

They’re doing a concert near me next month with a group called Makeup and Vanity Set and I’m seriously thinking of going. Though, I’ll almost certainly going to the Anamanaguchi concert at the same venue a month after.
