    Surely this calls for a before vs after. Use the clubs you are gaming as the before and use the recommended set and shaft as the after. What are the numbers?

    Great video !
    I was custom fit in 2010 (the first year the shaft optimizer was released) for Mizuno MP-58’s at a demo day. Was fit for them in project X 5.0 stiff, still have them clubs. Great experience.
    I remember trying the Dynamic Gold S 200 and they gave me a much lower ball flight (heavier shaft). Didn’t like them for me. Wound up sticking with the project X 5.0’s

      those MP 58s are basically what the MP MMC's are now. I think Mizuno didn't continue with them because they were too ahead of their time

    Thanks, very interesting and informative video Just had a iron fitting and this little gizmo was used. Interesting to see the details it came up with.

    I have been through a mizuno fitting the previous swing DNA. It was great. Highly recommend

    Michael, Very insightful and useful video. How did the DNA's Dynamic Lie & Loft analysis compare to that of the Quad 4? I ask because my fitter's technology is older generation Foresight tech and does not include Lie & Loft analysis, so he would be relying on the DNA's recommendations or, god forbid in this day and age, a Lie Board.

    That's pretty cool! Could the system be used for other brand heads, too?
    I imagine a fitter could take all that data from a Mizuno head and pop on something similar of a different manufacture.

      I would guess yes, so long as the head weights are very close which they almost always are. The shaft doesn't know what head is on the end of it.

    Very in depth. Why do other brands not offer this type of technology?

    Hope it’s better than gen 1, it fit me in polar opposites, a Dynamic gold S300, then a dynalite S300.

    Interesting review, thanks Michael. However, the real question is whether a traditional fitting by feel would arrive at the same shaft, loft and lie?

    Good video, would you use the same shaft result for different iron heads? so if you got fitted for jpx forged but wanted apex forged would the shaft be the same?

    My national chain here in Canada was talking about this coming & the advancements it would have. Great to see info on this & so thorough. Thx a ton!
    What shaft does one know to attach to the analyzer?
    Example a couple years ago I went to try the former mizuno analyzer & they had it attached to a very flexible graphite before they even set me up. Wouldn't that throw it off? How to decide which shaft in the first place, weight, stiffness etc to start with?

    • @wallstreetoneil
      @wallstreetoneil 5 лет назад +1

      it uses the fitting shaft that has sensors throughout - it doesn't matter how you hit the ball - it's measuring the loads and angles you put on the shaft

    Michael will the optimisation tell the fitter a recommended wood shaft

    Hi mike i was a bit unsure but whom does an upright or flat lie angle help more? does it depend on you being a fader or drawer of the ball?

    • @Warp33
      @Warp33 5 лет назад

      Lie angel decides where the ball starts. More flat = Ball starts more right for the right handed golfer.

    question. can you test a mid grip somehow and see what it recommends. i always feel after i change grip size even if its more comfy im suddenly in the wrong shaft and or flex....i have xl glove yet when i go mid i take out the lefts but i also feel like the shaft is acting more inconsistent for me....instead of constant solid hits draw to maybe too much draw. switching to mid creates less solid contact as well....

    you have to use Mizuno clubs to use it??

    • @MichaelNewtonGolf
      @MichaelNewtonGolf  4 года назад

      Yes you have to have a Mizuno head due to the fitting

      Sorry to bug you, do you need to charge this thing? I can't find any information whatsoever on what the charger looks like or anything about the power it uses. I'm sure our shop has the charger somewhere, but me and the pro have no idea.

    Just so you know, it didn't matter that you used the 2 Degree Upright Head for your test as the sensor measured your Actual Shaft to Ground Swing Angle (not Shaft to Head) and you Averaged 61.65 versus what it thought was Standard 61.5 (but was actually 63.5). Obviously Lie Angle is used as a Fitting Technique to control start direction and spin but technically you are Exactly a Standard Lie Angle because you delivered the Sensor to Ground at 61.5 not 63.5. What does technically actually matter was that it recommended Flat because it was comparing your ACtual 61.65 to what it thought was 61.5 versus what it Actually was 63.5 - and thus if it new this it would have recommended you at Flat -2 Degrees from an Upright 2 Degrees Club - which is actually Flat. Again, Lie Angle is a Starting Direction and Curvature fitting tool so you can pick what you want to give you the flight characteristics that you desire - but this new latest and greatest sensor from Mizuno is saying that you are a +1 inch club length player but you starting point should be technically Flat not Upright +2 (if a neutral flight is desired - which for most people it isn't)

      Paul O'Neil thanks for your insights on this but just to understand you correctly, he shouldn't be using 2 deg upright correct, because the shaft optimizer doesn't care if it's using 2 deg upright head or flat head because it just simply measures the lie angle regardless?
