Great video. Would like to see the TS3 reviewed next if possible, since it’s a forged iron, and has progressive cavity design.
TS3 is the best iron I've ever had. Great sweet spot and excellent control. would be nice to see them reviewed.
The TS4 is forgiving because of how its COG is located (especially VCOG) + the MOI + the "CDIM" as Maltby measures it. Physics doesn't care what your club head looks like, it cares where the mass is located. The TS4 locates the COG more like a game improvement iron than a players iron. You can see all the data (and data for a ton of manufacturer's clubs) on the Golfworks website. The only other thing off-setting the TS4 from the game improvement clubs is the sole width, but that is really player dependent on whether it will work for you.
Sole width is part of what helps keep the centre of gravity on them low and back, and keeps the MOI up in GI territory. They remind me of a design he did for Toski Golf back in the early 2,000's. Looked pretty much the same, with similar specs.
Great video! These new Maltby Forgings look great. You should try the TE+ cavity back and the TS 3.
The TS3s are the best ones they make.
Ignoring all new equipment helps my bank account.
Love it! Been waiting for another guy to review Maltby. They need to get the recognition they deserve.
FYI, anybody hearing about Maltby for the first time on here, they've been around for 30+ years. Every club is designed and tested in house in Ohio. Their design and playability concepts are unique and extremely functional but quite proprietary to Maltby. No borrowed designs or foundry catalog models here. They're the real deal!
@elitefitgolf would be great to see how the TS3 and TE+ V4 compare to each other just to round out the iron reviews.
Great stuff!
Stu brought me here 🙋🏽♂️
Longer. he was doing a course for PGA rookies called You and Your Equipment back in the 70's. I forget when he founded The Golfworks, but it was either in the 70's or 80's. He and Golfsmith and Dynacraft all hit their peak of popularity about 30 years ago, though.
I play the TS3 irons and they are the most forgiving clubs I’ve tried. Way better than my P790s.
Just got into Maltby components due to the rabid fan club and price point. I just started playing the TS3's and they might be the most player friendly irons on the component market. They make great stuff. Thanks for the review.
Hey, which shaft did you get? I want to try them but I'm not sure about the Score LT shaft.
@@TomLuck I recycled old Taylor Made shafts from my original TM200 Steel set. I used them just to get the set built as they were proper flex and precut lengths. They came out great. I have a set of project X shafts that I will probably put in at some point this season or next.
You can order 1 test club and see if the Score shafts work for you. I watched a review of them by Gabe from Let's Play Thru and he rated the TS3's "GOD TIER" irons. The set he reviewed was a borrowed set with the stock Score Shafts. I'm thinking about ordering up a 7 iron and trying them out. The price is certainly fantastic.
Fitted into both, however went with the TS1 IM for a little more forgiveness but still gives the blade feel. Paired with 120g mamiya dart V shafts and pure DTX grips. Came from Mizuno JPX 921 tour with x100 shafts. Definitely love the maltby
Maltby makes good heads. Glad you could showcase some of their clubs.
I've been playing the Maltby original TE heads for years and I love em, so much nicer than my previous MP57's.
Literally my favorite iron of all time
Soft forging classic looks but so forgiving !
Thanks for showing Malty some love. You have to try the TS3s. They are amazing. Buttery smooth feel and super forgiving. Also with noting that Golfworks will custom build a set for any of the Maltby clubs they carry.
I checked the other day and their shaft options were poop. They have every shaft in stock, why can't I get DG TI x100?
@@adambarnes4191 Golfworks carries the X100 TI's. There just isn't any combo discount pricing for that setup but you can put the set together through the custom shop or you can call in the order and have the set built with those shafts. You're looking at premium to have them built out but probably still at half the cost of a custom set of OEM's.
been using maltby stuff since the mid 80's. simply love them
Been playing the ts3s for 2 years now and are by far the best irons I have ever hit. I currently play to a 5.8 and have them in the tt elevate stiff shaft.
Mark from Golfworks is going to love this
Ive got the ts1 IM and had Maltby build them with true temper shaft. Amazing price for 4-PW+GW. Fit and finish is great. Lamskin grips.
They play really nice and center face hits feel like the ball is invisible. Just jumps off the face.
The Maltby's are no longer the Maltby of old. They are far more modern and can compete with anyone. I'm building the TS1-IM's now and will have a tester 7 iron of the TS3's very soon. You should think about doing a test with the TS3's. They probably compare to the Takomo 201's and maybe the Sub70 659 CB's.
Doing the same thing. May end up with a blended set.
Current 4 HDCP. Ive been gaming the TS4 with x100 DG tour issue since last fall 2023. Will never ever go back to OEM over priced latest and greatest irons. Love these sticks. Get a ton of compliments on them but nobody has a clue what they are. always a great conversation piece.
the scorecard has no entry for 'brand used". People would be surprised at some of the aftermarket heads and how decent they truly are. Maltby heads are custom components and clubs make no mistake. Roger won't put his name on junk, I believe.
@@redhed9776you mean Ralph? Ralph Maltby is the founder of Maltby golf and the Golfworks. Roger Maltbie is the announcer.
Are your TS4’s getting beat up from rock hits? Mine did. I like the TS1M way better
@@Esoxfan I had my TS4's for about a year and they held up beautifully. I live in Arizona where we hit off of a lot of gravel and hard pan. No issues for me. They're also the same steel as the IM's and TS3's
I just got fitted for some ts1 im's today and cant wait to get them in! They felt so buttery smooth even on the mis hits. Dispersion was incredible too. Heads, custom shafts and grips, plus a new max mill wedge for right around $500. Just because they dont cost as much as the rest doesnt mean they are cheap made clubs. I promise you they are anything but that. Ive swung the t200s and mizuno 245s and they feel every bit as good to me.
I'm shopping for some irons. Never bought new, as paying over 1k is beyond my pay scale. The Maltby ts4 is a real option at $500 and has all the performance of other brand name clubs. I am on it ! Just a win win and this video just confirms it for me.
The Maltby TS3 Iron looks really nice too. The tests I'm most interested in are ones that bring studio numbers out to the course. For instance, how much of a difference do landing angle and spin really make when it comes to stopping a ball. Is one better than the other? What about matching spinny balls with less spinny clubs or vice versa.
Own them and love them, left srixon zx7 for these
I matched them with Oban CT 115 S shafts
The TS3s are a step above the TS4s for me.
Ordered a PW TE+ V4 black, tried it out and now a full set is on the way. Outperforms my Mizuno JPX921s in every way.
The awesome thing about Maltby "black" irons is that they use a DBM (Diamondized black metal) process. It's not just a coating like PVD that so many OEMs still use and charge $500 more for the set. DBM actually holds up very well because it's part of the steel itself. It's a little more costly but IMO it's the right way to do black irons. After a couple years it does wear but ends up more like a dark graphite rather than scratched up black spray paint. Would be awesome to see a review of these TE+ irons
The other effect the shorter hosel has, and it's important for clubmakers to pay attention to this one, is that it lowers the bottom of bore to ground line measurement. That puts the tip of the shaft about half an inch closer to the ground, and the clubhead. It's like tipping that shaft an extra half inch. So you have to be aware of that when trimming parallel tip shafts, and installing taper tips. You want to reduce your tip trim a bit or soft step the taper tip sets in order to achieve desired flex. I know that fooled me a couple of times in my early days.
AJ, I will be ready to let a you the pro to verify and check out my loft and Lie tester, We emailed on the early version last week.
Final version be ready very soon, would gladly ride down from Spartanburg with the final product?
Really happy to see this review here. If you’re able, please review the TS3!!! Also, was wondering if you could share a “hack” on how to modify a Maltby iron head so that it can receive demo shafts, so that we can bring in the modified head to a general iron fitting so that it could be considered as a candidate in the fitting.
I'm pretty sure that there is a general fitting adapter out there somewhere. All Maltbys are .370 hosels. Dave at Fit2u golf always has fitting adapters on his Maltby clubs when he reviews them.
Following up on @AZstu324's comment, some Maltby iron heads (including TS series) use universal hosel sizes ... so they accepts both .370 and .355 sizes
@@vic0445 great call-out! Actually I think they all have the universal hosel if I'm not mistaken.
but unfortunately nothing nice for Lefties 😪
I built up a 7 iron TS4 and 6 iron TS1 IM. Both look terrific. My Takomo 201 irons were just looking too clunky for me. These Maltby's look really good.
Which did you prefer between the TS4 and TS1 IM and why? I'm trying to decide which to get and those were my top 2 as of now
@@ianrowland8357 I think that both look terrific. The loft progressions on the TS1 IM match better to me. I prefer a slightly stronger loft in the 7, 6, and 5 irons. I wanted something that would be similar to the P770 or PXG 0317T. I think the TS1 IM matches up well to those. I've hit the PXG and the P770 and the TS1 IM feels just as good. I've also hit the Ping 525 and didn't like that feel. That said, the TS4 has that classic solid body feel. I have a set of Mizuno Pro 223 irons that give me that. The TS4 lofts would leave too much of a gap between 6 iron and 25 degree hybrid in my bag. If I went with TS4 then I'd go gap to 5 iron then 25 degree and add a 56 degree sand wedge. With the TS1 IM I go 57, 53, 49 then PW to 6 iron TS1 then to hybrids and woods. For me it comes down to gapping. On center strikes the TS1 IM has that new school hollow body firm feel that's quite satisfying and the TS4 feels like how a forged club feels. Both irons were very consistent for me and give good feedback on strike location. The TS1 IM just gives a half club more distance because of the lofts. If the TS4 came in the loft progressions of the TS1 IM then I'd go that way but they don't.
I would love to see a side by side review of the Maltby TS3 and TS4. I think the TS3 is considered Super Game Improvement while the TS4 is considered Game Improvement. Would like to get your opinion on the TS3. I am a senior bogey golfer so I would like to get as much help as possible.
These look clean, love the finish.
I would like to see a compare between the STi2 iron pack and the TS4 iron pack. Both with the Score shafts. The STi2 is less than half the cost so should be a real David vs. Goliath test.
anyone focusing on the looks of the club, making that the most important aspect of a club, is really missing the mark on what matters. Can you hit it and how does it feel when you hit it. You can have the best looking club in the world, but if you can't hit it, what does it matter? I mean, seriously, your priorities are backwards.
Just got my set of 5-gw ts4's with modus tour 105s shafts. Took the GW out back for a couple 1/2 swings. Both shots traveled 55yds and rested about a yard apart. Feel is great. Looking forward to testing the rest of the set. And have a very positive feeling about them coming from pxg
Get the Hogan irons. I think you'll be impressed. Especially the PTx Pro or Tour.
That same pattern has been around for at least 50 years. They change a little here and there but that same forged design has remained unchanged for the most part. It just boils down to particulars from that basic design. Shafts, length, grips and the angle of the head all add up to fitting the club to the player. Nothing new here either. The only thing that ever needs to change is practice and with a sim you have it covered.
Another reason for the TS4 Irons being more forgiving and easier to hit than other blade and muscle back Irons is because they are co-forged with a piece of tugsten in the toe that combined with length, shorter hosel to optimize the vsog and sog location
Bought an older Maltby driver head $24 and a decent shaft and grip and ferrule from Golfworks and have a killer driver for $79
Proposed Video:
So I’m in the very early stages of playing with an iron set that has smaller length differentials. I’ve tried the one length in the past and it wasn’t quite right. This time around I’m playing with a standard 7 iron length, then progressing in both directions at 1/4” length steps. I’m in the process of getting the 6,5,4 built up, but several rounds on the 7-P with this format and really, really liking it so far.
It seems like this would be an interesting test to do on the channel.
Love the visibility for the Maltby stuff.. their most recent lines are outstanding. The TS3 forged are buttery soft, and much more forgiving than they look! Great stuff.
Pleas test it avoda golf iron 3DPrinted
Blade length on Maltby vs Takomo. Yes, the Maltby's will be longer. The Takomo 101T's are a little short, IMO, being less than 80 mm. The Maltby's will be a little longer, because Ralph believes having the centre of gravity a little further away from the hosel makes the club more stable and forgiving to hit. That's part of why some of his Maltby Extreme designs from 20-25 years ago were so weird looking.
You nailed it! The big general difference between Maltby and most other DTC's is that they're designed under a specific philosophy created by master club designer and industry wizard Ralph Maltby, and carried on currently by Britt Lindsay. They're made for the specific needs of players by someone who has a high level of understanding of what the average golfer needs. The other guys are just having their names stamped on open models where R&D was done by a factory 10 years ago. You can see it when you look up club specs. Maltby provides much more detailed info on their clubs because they actually control and create the specs.
@@AZstu324 My early clubmaking training was at Golfworks facilities in Ottawa and Newark. I've toured Ralph's design studio and putting lab. So I'm familiar with his approach. He and Britt aren't the only "component" clubhead builders who design their own, but there are very few others. Tom Wishon does as well, and I like his designs just as much. My bag is full of a mix of Wishon and Maltby, in fact. Not sure about Jennifer King of KZG. Some good designs, though. My clubfitting mentor used them a lot.
@@seanbaines completely agree! Wishon is another one that sits right at the top of club design innovation. While their schools of thought are a little bit different from each other, they both deserve much more recognition in the golf world than it currently get. KZG is another great company that's been around forever that just doesn't have as much notoriety as some of these newer companies. But you are definitely right, these types of DTC companies are more few and far between and seem to be getting overshadowed by these mass marketing type companies.
@@AZstu324 Money talks. :(
Do yourself a favor and test the TE Forges.
I have a mixed set of these. TS4 P-7 TS3 6-4 with SteelFiber Fc shafts for $800 and they are money.
I might get a set with all TS3 heads.
@@-What-are-your-thoughts I played the TS4's all of last year and absolutely loved them! This year I actually switched to the TS3's and think I might love them even more. A little thicker up top but nothing out of place to my 7 handicap eye. They have forgiveness like nothing else though! I haven't had a bad round with them yet.
I have a TS4 4-GW set with x100 shafts ... just ordered a TS3 7 iron and FST 125 to test out (more to scratch that golf club itch).
@@vic0445 Maltby sure doesn't make it easy for us junkies to stay clean.. 😜
@@AZstu324 Oh man Stu! The golf gods are always listening! U shouldn't have made that last statement 😅
What is the most forgiving irons you've tested, ever?
Agreed I purchased and in a review totally praised them for NOT painting the Maltby Medallion. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my TS1 - I,M’s
Not kidding around, in the Maltby underworld I think that the revamp of their new badging is almost as big of a deal as the new iron designs. It's been a highly requested and anticipated event lol.
The TS3 is imo by the best overall package
Which DTC brand do you prefer? I hesitate between takomo, maltby or Toura but there is a lot dtc brand right now like Caley, MacGregor or Sub70.
Great video.. also thank you for showing off the Maltby irons- I have been playing them for the last 4 years albeit the TS1 using 90g Mitsubishi MMT stiff and have enjoyed them. Its time for another set and am considering the TS4.I was wondering what shaft you used for this test video? Also was it standard length and lie?
I put Nippon Modus3 120 X in all the test clubs as I just started playing with a set personally using that shaft. Length, lie, and loft were all standard for the testing.
If I’m a high handicap golfer(19), and am currently playing Taylormade stealth irons, does anybody which maltby irons would compare? Love the looks of these new models but am concerned that might be suited or fitted for my slower swing speed, etc…
Could someone make a recommendation?
My $.02 is that you would enjoy the TS3's. Hopefully AJ gets his hands on some to test. For reference, I'm a 7 handicap and my dad is probably mid 20's. We both play the TS3's. They're everything that I need as a more experienced player, and they do everything that he needs as an "improving" player. They're really an extremely versatile club that covers a wide range of skill and meets the aesthetics that most look for.
Another great option is the KE4 MAX.
Us lefty’s definitely have less options in the DTC space.
were you using the same shafts in the Maltby vs Takomo? Just curious. I really like and have been using Maltby clubs for 30+ years
Yes, same
Maltby walked so Takomo could run.
Maltby knew how to engineer / contract the right engineers....but boy they were always butt ugly.
Maltby doesn't contract or buy foundry models like Takomo and most of the others. Their head designer Britt Lindsay runs the show. He took over for Ralph Maltby a few years ago and is a big reason why the aesthetics made a big leap forward. They are 100% proprietary in their R&D. It's just their marketing that is behind the pack. They have a large cult following that keeps them in business.
I have been playing Maltby Wedges and irons for several years now. I love the price and completely agree that their anesthetics have improved tremendously. They're great performing clubs as well. With the Wedges I get a new set of heads every year so I always have fresh grooves!
Can you test the Maltby TS3 irons?
How about the Maltby ts3? I’m interested in possibly having a set built. I’ve been looking to possibly order some components and have them shipped to you and built..
Lot of people are big on the TS3. Might need to review that one as well.
@@EFGMCmaybe you can connect with Gabe @letsplaythru and build him a set of the TS3's? 😬

They look like Nippon, based on the red label that showed a little while he was previewing the irons.

how would I get fitted for these? Thanks for the video. I bought a Maltby 5 wood and starting to love it after I learned how to hit a 5 wood

@@EFGMCthank you!
Since direct to consumer is all the rage these days. How about giving a look at the original direct to consumer brand. Henry Griffitts. My old coach from the early 2000's was a rep for them and had the full fitting cart. So it was fun just blasting way down the driving range trying out all different heads and shaft combos.
Maltby has been around since the 70's so they're THE og DTC. They just don't do the kind of flash marketing that Takomo, or these other overnight DTC's have done. More than likely, AJ either had to buy these heads or was sent them by a viewer or customer.
@@AZstu324 Maltby is a component company. I'm referencing a company similar to Takomo
@@industrialpalletworx3548The Golfworks is a component company. Maltby is their golf club brand that Ralph Maltby started to be sold directly from the Golfworks to the Consumer. They work synonymously together but are 2 separate companies.
I have both the TS4 in the short irons and TS1M in the long irons. The feel and accuracy is way better in the TS1M and am replacing all the TS4 also the metal dinged so easily when hitting a rock in the fescue.
By the way I had to soft step twice to get dgs300 shaft pulls proper length
They dont make them in lefty.
TS3'S PLEASE 🙏🏼
Gabe, I am a 10 handicap and currently play PXG. 0317t. I am looking to move into some Maltby’s for some more forgiveness. Based on your reviews the TS3’s seem like a no brainer, but are out of stock. What is a close 2nd Maltby iron would you recommend? Thanks
no lefty options sucks...
Maltby clubs of old were always gimmicky. Back when I was building clubs I would always choose Golfsmith, Snake Eyes, or Wishon components. The latest Maltby clubs hold their own against many of the OEMs out there.
Was a maltby fitter, and still am player for 15 years, im a sub 5 hcp. Their PTM is still the best sole design ever, i personally impart very little dynamic loft so the ts3's are best for me :)
I play the PTM's and love them. They are a bit worn and they are not as visually refined as the new irons.
Did you hit the TS1-IM, the TS4, and TS3 before choosing the TS3? I'm torn btwn the TS3's and TS4's. Any thoughts coming from the PTM's?
@@DominickArchitects I hit the whole range, TS1-IM doesnt spin so much, TS4 spun too much for me, ts3 got the ball higher in the air with best spin. But I have to reiterate, I have very low dynamic loft. My average 7i is 19.2 AoA is -4.5, I get 129 mph and 5800 rpm with ts3 with a MMT90x shaft
Soooo.. you going to game the TS4's? 😜
The shorter hosel is another classic Ralph Maltby thing. He'd rather have the weight out in the clubhead rather than in the hosel. He feels longer, heavier hosels drag the horizontal centre of gravity of the club hoselward, rather than further out from the hosel where he thinks it does the most good. For the same reason, he really dislikes putting lead weight down the shafts to achieve correct swingweight. That's why he's designed a lot of clubs with interchangeable weights in the clubhead itself, like the old KE4 series from the 2000's.
Yes!!! I play ts3 4i thru 7i, and Ts4 8i thru Gw.. these clubs are as good or better than anything out there.. rockstars!!!
Have been playing the ts4 for a few months now and love them, i may switch the long irons to a more forgiving heads
Wow, great video - who knew!
So glad that Maltby is now manufacturing the best iron and my favorite the MP 33!!
How do you feel like the TS4 feels and preforms against the wilson staff blades?
I play the original TS1 irons with DG x seven shafts. Will I need to use led tape on the club head at all?
Personal preference based on how it feels to you. If it feels light, try some lead tape and see if it's actually better or not.
@@EFGMC what is typical? Like 6-8 grams?
@@seanclark1545 Most people can't feel a 2g difference so I usually say start with 4g and go up in 4g increments.
ive played the TE Forged cavity back irons for 2 seasons and I love them
What current Mizuno irons would you say the TS4 Forged and the TS1 IM Forged are comparable with? Im also kind of curious how they compare to the iron I currently play. The Mizuno MP-20 MMC and MP-18 MMC Fli-Hi. Are the Maltbys similar, more forgiving or less forgiving?
I'd say the 2 of them would be similar to the Pro 245. Significantly larger footprint on both vs the 245.
Curious Ajay what weight shafts do you use mostly and how much per club do you spend on the shaft. Thanks for doing this test. Fromm the comments people seem to like the TS3 a lot too.
Currently I prefer the Nippon Modus3 120 X. 120g. It's a $40 shaft.
According to Maltby the TS4 is actually a little more forgiving than the TS1 IM.
Have both, in actually playing them the TS1im were way more forgiving
Have the ts1 IM. Love em
I have used them for years...they are very good, solid and you can't beat them for value for money.
btw, you might have metioned who Ralph Maltby is (was?).
Are they available in left hand?
i lost my 5 iron from takomo and they wouldnt let me buy a replacement for it so i ended up with one of the tsi 1m in the bag and i loved it lol
I think at this point your only option is to replace the rest with Maltby clubs lol.
Hi AJ. Norm from Key West. I’m still using the modified gripping station you introduced a few years back. It works great and I’m helping my golfing friends here regrip their clubs.
Here’s an episode idea. Sub70 has introduced a single length version of their 699 V2 irons. I’m seriously thinking about them. It might be interesting to see variable length versus single length performance face off for let’s say 9, 7 and 5 irons.
Any thoughts on single length?
Some people like them. I'm not sure what the percentage of people who stay in them is but probably 50/50.
@@EFGMC Thanks!
I really like the TS4 and am about to order from them with a tapered tip shaft. What shafts did you test the TS4 head with? Was the shaft a taper or parallel tip? I know that Maltby uses a "universal" hosel bore. Considering your other video on the topic of taper tip shafts in parallel bores, I was curious if you happened to use a tapered tip shaft and if so did you use a metal shim? I expect GW may just recommend a collared ferrule and beads in the epoxy. Thanks in advance for your advice on this topic.
Hey @JohnWalkerCharlotte maybe this might help. The universal hosel has a secondary .355 bore that sits down at the bottom a couple millimeters. It's dead center of the main .370 bore. I've built a couple sets with a tapered tip shafts and as long as you seat the .355 tip of the shaft correctly in the secondary bore, it should flare out just enough to be snug at the top of the .370 opening. I've never had to use any collared ferrules, shims, or even shafting beads. I do use fairly thick epoxy so that's helpful for me.
That said, some guys do recommend centering beads or side shims just to be safe.
This is just my experience with the universal hosel.
I built mine into my fitting matrix so not a standard epoxy bond. That said, I used the Nippon Modus3 120 X taper shaft in the test.
You should investigate if a reminder rib at 7:00 and 5:00 has any effect vs 6:00.
I tried this for a video where I try and reduce a slice. Setting the reminder to a more closed face will help consistently get the face closed.
What shaft did he use
Maltby ts3 4-gw for 515 or stealth 5-sw for 500
You could also do Maltby 5-GW for $455 and pick up a Maltby 54° or 56° wedge for another $50. Their wedges are world class as well!
What shaft were you using and what flex?
Nippon Modus3 120 X
I got the max milled 0.90 wedge 54° and its better than my callaway md5 and for half the price
I have the 1.05 wide sole version of the 54° and 58°. I'm a 7 handicap and a pretty decent wedge player. I've played a lot of "better player" wedges and these are the best I've gamed. So insanely easy to hit and control distance and the spin is off the charts! At address they don't look like GI wedges at all.
@AZstu324 yes unfortunately they were out of stock of the 1.05 but do you game any other maltby clubs?
@@STONERETTE916 oh yeah. I've nearly converted every club to Maltby. Of course my wedges are.. I play the TS3 irons (heavenly). I previously played the TS4's also awesome. I have their adjustable 7 wood that is just incredible! I also have both mallet and blade versions of their PTM putters. Also I go back and forth between their KE4 TC Pro driver and a Mizuno ST-Z 230 driver. The Maltby gets better distance but the Mizuno is slightly more forgiving. So yeah.. I have a few Maltby clubs 😜
Dude first thing, you are a freaking robot man. I wish I could be consistent like you... So I play with the original p790 and wonder which Maltby would compare to them. Want to buy new irons and don't want to spend $1200+
I would highly recommend checking out the Maltby TS3s
I second the suggestion for the TS3's.. or if you're looking to upgrade in playing profile, the TS1-IM's are very close to the P770's.
FYI, they also sell fully built club sets too. They're listed under Club Paks on the Golfworks website.
Thank you. Feels. Like name brand irons are so expensive now a days and really everyone seems to have the same technology
@@juanvelazquez8285 Yea the name brand irons have to get the 100s of millions they pay tour players to swing their clubs back somehow. Its why I dont buy anything from the top brands.

@@davidgolf3245 Yes I did. I would still be interested depending on what you’d let them go for. I do also have some options for trades plus cash if you’d prefer that.
@@RVwalkthroughguy I have an offer for 4k that I am thinking about. Trying to get 4500 if I do let them go. What would your offer be?
@@davidgolf3245 Not above retail, thats for sure! Unless you wanted to take some new EPON AF-507s with Steelfiber i95cws as a trade with some cash on my end. Otherwise, best of luck!
Something to note here; the TS4 has a higher Maltby Playability Factor than the TS1 IM. I play the original TS1 but I have the new TS4 on order. Golfworks does have a backlog because these are so darn popular. So I’ve been waiting for mine for a good bit. The TS1 IM and TS3 have some heads out of stock at this time. I’m not sure if Golfworks expected the demand for these. I did order the Club Pak with the TT Score shafts. They are pretty low end shafts. It’s too bad that they don’t put KBS or Nippon shafts in the Paks. If you do want upgraded shafts, the cost goes up pretty significantly. So cost competitiveness sort of goes out the window if you compare what Takomo provides stock. I have some other shafts sitting here, so if I don’t like the Score, I’ll just reshaft them. If you price out the TS4 in 4-G with KBS Tour, you’re looking at about $900+. So keep that in mind.
How did you like your original TS1? They have them on sale 3-pw for $390 with the score shafts. Debating picking them up but not sure since I can’t test and know the resale will be awful if I don’t like them. Thanks
I’m looking at getting some Maltby irons as a 13hcp but having difficulty figuring out which to get. Which big name iron sets compare to the Maltbys line to make it a bit easier? TIA
I think the new Maltby heads look similar to some of the Taylormade hollow body irons.
TE+ V4. I am a 12hcp and built a PW to test out. Considerably nicer to hit than my Mizuno JPX 921s.
I'm glad to see you are creating content for other DTC brands besides Sub70 & Takomo.
Testing idea: I have the Ping G400 Max driver and wanted to know what the difference would be with the new Max 10k driver. Has the tech improved that much in 5+ years to warrant an upgrade?
i play Maltby TS2 ⛳🏌️
Hope its ok to ask this here I realize the video doesnt pertain to this but i did enjoy the video and watched all of it can you tell me if this machine GOLF MECHANIX MANUAL SZP FREQUENCY ANALYZER-GM1077 does everything that this machine does AUDITOR REFERENCE FREQUENCY ANALYZER-GM1017 I need to be able to frequency match but I feel like the first machine will do that and profile as well hope its not a dumb question i have been trying to determine this for a few days now and thought maybe it would be better to just ask someone.
All frequency meters are very simple machines. If you are wanting one, buy the cheapest.
