Being immature or childish doesn’t make you dumb, and that may not be the message, but this song helped me realize that.
We all die eventually. Why waste it?
I finally understood the message of the song. Disappointment takes us by surprise, but it's okay, because everyone has their dumb moments/ are dumb in their own ways. When one expects one has the capability to learn or do something, but fail at it, one will feel disappointed. That's when one feels like hiding, or hope that people around will shrug it out as a comic relief (if one messes up a lot). But it is just human to mess up, and everyone is dumb, on their own learning journey.
I think you misunderstood the message of the song. What I understand of the message is that she may be a conspiracy theorist.
The fake news paper, "Everyone is dumb", "Even though by now. I think we should have realized", and "you don't know what to believe" fits perfectly in the character of a conspiracy theorist. I think I should give some context, Everyone believes in the news.

@321Jarn you should take a semiotic approach to the analysis of the fake-newspaper. Atm we use a term "Yap". "Yapper" "The Yap". As in, maybe, this news paper is fake. But not this one, all news paper, technical methods of dispersion of information and communication, all forms of communication which are capable of broadcasting ideology, It's spectacular. A Yap.
Especially in modern capital free press where if you see the graphs of real ownership, you'd know.
