I've had this on repeat for days. There's something so entrancing and enthralling about her unapologetic loyalty to her true self despite lost love and harsh criticisms. Despite all the spectacles, her message remains clear: she will be herself despite any horror or joy. She doesn't need to be fixed. So this is almost scary. Recently diagnosed, I was watching some videos on the subject and this track pops up. I heard a track of hers before, but went in pretty much blank. The first thing that popped into my mind as I was watching this was how much many music videos are, at the very least, divergent... Hahah. Like, I was thinking "If I was walking around town like that people would look at me very strangely". And that goes for many videos, but it struck me more with this track. And that was before I started listening to the lyrics, which are indeed quite relatable, coupled with the way she moves and articulates. So when I went to the comments and yours was the second comment, it was... a little shocking. But in a good way!

Because most of the time uninformed people would just invalidate you like "Oh, you can't have asperger's you're so bad at maths !" (a friend said me that, I just hate numbers cause I had ocd with them as a kid, and still now but less.) A genius is a genius. Neurotipical can be genius. Neuroatipical can have average iq. Etc. It's more common with autistic people but people often think that autism is like that because they are the autistic people that are remembered. It's empowering, makes you think about the meaning & how it relates to the world & yourself, while being extremely catchy. In my mind, she encompasses so much: a little girl who you never want to grow up, a sensual woman who is completely free, a sage spirit of raw, unbridled wisdom that winks at your struggle to understand.
I sent this song to my mother who has thought she needed this "cure" her entire life. She's now divorcing my abusive, narcissistic father and is studying to become a therapist - she never knew that was her calling until she found her identity. She was her own cure! this song is about the "typical" fight between ppl which are "depending" and ppl which are "independent". usually the dependend one is clinging, running after the independend one, takes the breath of the independend one, and so on.... the dependend one mostly does not understand that she/he looks for "healing" in the other one. the independend one understood that she/he is the one who has to heal her/himself (being selfsufficient - while the dependend one looks for sufficience from "the outside"). so yes - this song is ALSO about "break up" ;) she sings "you get hurt" "no we dont belong together" "moving heart i got"........ bcs: the dependend one receives the "energy" from the independend one. but the independend one does not need this energy, bcs she/he is selfsufficient - while the dependend one starts to blame the other and feels hardly hurt and mostly tends to find another one to heal.... the independend one just does not need this "cure".

At the beginning there is a crystal ball with Aurora performing “exist for love” inside of it. Perhaps this song will be second in line for an upcoming album or are just related to one another.
Well, she said she wrote this song in reference to conversion therapy that's forced on LGBTQIA+ people worldwide. Aurora doesn't like to confine herself to any specific label (the last I heard) but she doesn't feel attraction exclusively to men. So this is an issue that's close to her heart, too. So Exist for Love could definitely be thematically linked with Cure for Me; the former is a love ballad and this one could be her turning around and flipping off anyone who has a problem with her loving that person.

I'm a bit jaded at my age, but I stumbled on to this song through a chain of videos. All I can say is I was completely drawn in after a few seconds. She's authentic. She isn't trying to be something she's not. She takes you on the journey with her through the whole video. My emotions rose and fell along with her. Just beautiful.

So this is almost scary. Recently diagnosed, I was watching some videos on the subject and this track pops up. I heard a track of hers before, but went in pretty much blank. The first thing that popped into my mind as I was watching this was how much many music videos are, at the very least, divergent... Hahah. Like, I was thinking "If I was walking around town like that people would look at me very strangely". And that goes for many videos, but it struck me more with this track. And that was before I started listening to the lyrics, which are indeed quite relatable, coupled with the way she moves and articulates. Well, she said she wrote this song in reference to conversion therapy that's forced on LGBTQIA+ people worldwide. Aurora doesn't like to confine herself to any specific label (the last I heard) but she doesn't feel attraction exclusively to men. So this is an issue that's close to her heart, too.
So Exist for Love could definitely be thematically linked with Cure for Me; the former is a love ballad and this one could be her turning around and flipping off anyone who has a problem with her loving that person.

I'm a bit jaded at my age, but I stumbled on to this song through a chain of videos. All I can say is I was completely drawn in after a few seconds. She's authentic. She isn't trying to be something she's not. She takes you on the journey with her through the whole video. My emotions rose and fell along with her. Just beautiful.
