i love this song sm, it really conveys how i feel about the school system. especially as a disabled and neurodivergent person. obviously i know this is just a song about a game and has nothing to do with this at all but i really resonate it with it and a lot of what’s mentioned in the song is why im homeschooled, and even while being homeschooled i still feel like this while trying to learn with adhd and a disability. anyways i know i’m looking into this too much but i just thought i’d share.
How does it feel to be homeschooled? Just curious, i've always been bad at math and my parents always tell me to ask for help but im to shy and feel embarrassed asking for help, i don't like being around people i barely know unless they're my friends

I really like the theory, or more like, the interpretation, that the character we play as has a disorder that makes learning difficult (like dyslexia or ADHD). This is why the math problems get all jumbled up and is impossible to solve. It makes a lot of sense considering many children with these disorders typically develop anxiety. And this multiplies by ten fold when the teacher is not educated on this matter, or simply not an understanding person.
I’m probably looking way too deep and self projecting but-. This makes me think of how kids with learning disorders and disabilities often aren’t properly helped. Like getting diagnosed late so they didn’t getting help in school, their accommodations getting ignored, teachers shaming them for not learning as fast as the other kids or learning differently, before finally burning out and feeling like no one can help. (I’m probably just self projecting lol)
This makes a lot of sense- A kid with a learning disability trying to get through school but with a teacher who doesn’t understand how their mind works and is being too harsh. It could also be that Baldi isn’t as strict as it shows, but instead the child’s fear of what will happen if they fail. Also, I see it less like self projection, just sharing a good theory👏 (Hope your doing well though, I don’t mean to be rude at all, sorry if it sounds that way ToT)
had a kid in my class that was like that back then, people bullied them for it until i dared the biggest guy in the classroom (aka my now friend) in class to stand up to the bullies for him, their reactions were so funny and they really deserved it.

It’s basically a chasing game, where the player runs through the halls. The player is required to collect all of those notebooks to escape the school while Baldi gets continually faster to stop the player. It’s not really that violent since the game over screen is just him staring you down with a bit of a loud noise, though, it’s probably a bit too scary for a 5 year old to play on her own! Though, I agree, I wasn’t expecting the song to be so good!

Baldi isn’t gory (it has no blood) the main thing is jumpscares. It honestly depends if she gets scared by jumpscares. I would say the game is 9+ but the only aspect of horror is jumpscares. If she can handle that she will be fine!

I really like the theory, or more like, the interpretation, that the character we play as has a disorder that makes learning difficult (like dyslexia or ADHD). This is why the math problems get all jumbled up and is impossible to solve. It makes a lot of sense considering many children with these disorders typically develop anxiety. And this multiplies by ten fold when the teacher is not educated on this matter, or simply not an understanding person.

I’m probably looking way too deep and self projecting but-. This makes me think of how kids with learning disorders and disabilities often aren’t properly helped. Like getting diagnosed late so they didn’t getting help in school, their accommodations getting ignored, teachers shaming them for not learning as fast as the other kids or learning differently, before finally burning out and feeling like no one can help. (I’m probably just self projecting lol)

had a kid in my class that was like that back then, people bullied them for it until i dared the biggest guy in the classroom (aka my now friend) in class to stand up to the bullies for him, their reactions were so funny and they really deserved it.

It’s basically a chasing game, where the player runs through the halls. The player is required to collect all of those notebooks to escape the school while Baldi gets continually faster to stop the player. It’s not really that violent since the game over screen is just him staring you down with a bit of a loud noise, though, it’s probably a bit too scary for a 5 year old to play on her own!
Though, I agree, I wasn’t expecting the song to be so good!

Baldi isn’t gory (it has no blood) the main thing is jumpscares. It honestly depends if she gets scared by jumpscares. I would say the game is 9+ but the only aspect of horror is jumpscares. If she can handle that she will be fine!
