- Welcome to Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries DLC "Heroes of the Inner Sphere" Playthrough. In this video I will show you the gameplay of a full missions as well as the MechLab where you customize your Battlemechs. Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries is a game about stompy Mech action. You take command of a mercenary company and try to grow your income, salvage Mechs and hire Mechwarriors. The game includes a campaign with a vast storyline.
The gameplay is split in two different parts. On the one hand you will have to manage your resources, hire new crew members, outfit your Mechs and travel through the Inner Sphere star map. But the action starts as soon as you get into the cockpit of your Battlemech yourself to fulfill contracts on the battlefield to earn more C-Bills and progress the story. I will review the weapon systems, battlemechs, show you how to build the loadouts and train your pilots and take a look at all the different mission types and upgrades of the MW5 Heroes of the Inner Sphere DLC.

Kajiu, the energy version of this mech is almost as unholy towards the enemy as this thing. Both are 10/10 endgame mechs.

@@rhealgagnon1460 hopefully it’s not too late to give you some advice on this. Save your game in the Terra industrial hub with as many C-Bills as you can (I usually roll out with about 130-150 million) then fly into Kurita space to the planet Fukuroi or one of the planets attached to that hub. Check that area for hero mechs, rare mechs/weapons/equipment. If you dont see what you want load your Terra hub save and repeat. I’ve found the Boars Head, Heavy Metal, Sleipnir, Hellslinger, Kaiju, Annihilator-1X, and a lot of Atlas models along with varying sizes of just about every other Hero Mech in the game. When you find something you want just fly back to Terra and save, then rinse and repeat.
I had a King crab with 2xHeavy rifles for 'big thing has to go away' moments, 2xUAC5's for clearing tanks and VTOLS, and and 2xLRM5s for long range vtols and harrasers, plus a tonne of double heat sinks and heat sink mods. It was insaaane. and so fun.
Interesting build.
I went all in with 4xHeavy rifles, 2xSRM6, DHS and damage perks. Great one shot potential at surprising range, but you need to rely on SRMs for vehicles.

Same here except i use SRM's instead of LRM's. Ultras have decent enough range for me. but the Ultras paired with the Heavy's is so friggin fun!
Annihilator with 3 Heavy Rifles for instant delete. 1 Heavy Burst for Tanks and VTOLS and 2 HeavyLargeLasers.
Another ANH runs 4 slug throwers for max dps (look for a nice corner and hang out solo in warzones until you´re empty or bored^^)
I don´t like the kingcrabs low arms and the shaky walking makes moving and shooting messy - though at least it doesn´t look like a bloated .. something ^^

Depending on what you're doing, and what difficulty, general direction even falls off. You get into postal code territory.

Nice one, I have mine equipped with 4x LBX 10 SLD, no ohter weapons. What a beast.. lots and lots of ammo required.. Have fun !

First time ive ever played a mechwarrior game. Im loving it as used to playthe old Armoured core games, this feels similar but different enough. Loving your vids too

@@juanisaias8308 specificly this mech and this build. i have better kill speeds with 4 ac5 over u/ac5s. the slow speed, the slow twist speed, the low mounts, this mech fun and cool but its a lancemate mech for sure
weapon convergence is often weird, its too hot when using missiles and the cannons. i don't know maybe its just not for me,

if you had streak srm 6, maybe it would be worth it, but srm 2....no...
Definitely go lrms with this. Better softening job than the srms since the uacs just shred everything upclose and mid range

It's time to have a sit-down with the pilot of the Stalker. Not sure if he just wants to be on RUclips, but he is always in your face. More so than the other pilots.
i have the same trouble, stalker always in the way even if it'S suposed to be a lrm missile boat in the back

I like imagining Mechwarriors playing D&D. I do like heavy rifles. They hit _very_ hard, especially considering they only weigh 8 tons. But the ammo capacity could be improved, I think. 12 rounds a ton isn't much.
I built a Zeus with LLaser, a couple Mediums, an LRM, a Heavy Rifle, and the speed upgrade.
It shouldn't work, bit it does, and it's quite possibly my favorite thing I've ever built.
@@digitalis2977 Try getting a victor DS hero mech ,with ac 10 BF ,2 medium lasers and a stream srm 6 and a PPC.Thing shouldnt do as much damage but when it comes to brawling its freaking awesome,Doesnt overheat fast ,cooling is amazing and best of all it has full jump jets.
One of those wtf,does this do so much dmg builds.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrgggg!!!! I'm still playing with the starter Centurion... I WANT A KING CRAB!!!!!!!!! It's so freaking cool and the cockpit camera is awesome!
I set mine up with 4 T5 UAC5's and 2 T5 SRM6's (just in case they even get close enough lol), I love just sitting back over 1k just laying waste to everything you can see, did an assassination mission last night, they never made it to sensor range, laid out 2 Atlas and 1 highlander targets, that is one FUN mech!
I've been running a King Crab CAR with two UAC/5's, two Heavy Rifles, and two SRM6 ST. Loving that setup. Ultra's and SRM's help deal with ground and air units and i can shoot mechs in the face with the two heavies in between Ultra rounds to the face as well. Its a fun build to me. I love the heavy rifles.
This King Crab variant is my favorite mech in the whole game. I actually tried a build where I ditched the missiles and loaded 4 LB/10XAC’s and set the group to chainfire. Not even an enemy CAR could stand against me, I’d just slap him with 4 giant mech shotguns by spam clicking.
This is a fun build! I love it more with the +15% max speed and the torso speed upgrades. Thanks, Bara!
15% speed is a must for these slower mechs, makes them a lot more tolerable to pilot on large maps. I've also noticed that extra speed makes you quite a bit harder to hit.

Airstrikes are so much fun against opposing mechs :) Last time I was on a campaign mission I killed a mech with each airstrike. Loved it! I have never tried UACs. I run gauss. SRM6 is de rigour of the game. I run LRM20 with Artemis and my mercs get the SRM6 with Artemis( hard to find but so worth it). Explosive barrels hahahahaha You got that KC going great!
Got the King Hero today before I watched the video. Put 4 UAC5 in it an two SRM6 just for the lols too and dropped into the first mission without any idea how that build would work. Had to rearrange the weapongroups and got blasted away immediately. This mech is so much fun. It’s just click and kill. Constantly pressing weapongroup one and here and there weapongroup two for the SRMs. It’s loud and deadly and just kills everything in its range. Can even walk straight through an Atlas easily. Only real downside is the dependency on ammunition.
I like the LBX and PPC build for the King Crab. Great gameplay.
Perhaps a more practical solution would be to do one upgrade at a time, maybe during and after repairs.
EDIT: Also yes on the LRMs.

Yup! I ran this buid.. its cold. You dont need any heat sinks at all. I ran it 4xT5 Uac 5 with 10 and a half ton of ammo and 2 srm 4 with artemis and 1 and a half ton of ammo. It has high dmg ceiling potential, provided the uacs do not jam that often.
However, I tried the 2x T5 uac 5 with 4 tons of ammo and 2xT5 AC 10BF with 4 tons of ammo and 2 Lrm and 1 ton of ammo, no need heatsinks. Its a cold setup. It has higher firepower but lower dmg potential, but if the uacs are jam, at least the ac 10BF are there. It killls fast too!

I built this King Crab with an LRM-10+Artemis IV and an SRM-4+Artemis IV and it just murders anything in it's path. The amount of sheer DAKKA it brings to field is ridiculous. I put on just the two engine double heat sinks and I'm not sure it even needs those. It's definitely a cool running mech.
Running my modded playthrough, quad HAG-20'S on the carapace. It's so awesome.
I’m running quad heavy rifles and double LRM10. Have reload and heat mods. Can pretty much keep up a steady stream of large bore ordinance lol.
I like how you "usually" time your shots to avoid hitting friendlies.
I really do wish there were a 100-ton version of the Jaeger. I know this one fills that role, but the low arms really kill it. I have such the desire to be a 100-ton walking wall of flak.
I am convinced a 100T Jaeger would be just to op/to hard to protect the high arm mounts
4xHeavy Rifles on this needs so much cooling ... but the result is hilarious. Like a magic trick. You make mechs ... disappear.
would be interesting to see that thing with 4 heavy rifles. should oneshot most things at a pretty long range.

Shooting more than one shot per target is for the weak :P
Four Heavies don't really fit; you can have the guns or the ammo, but not both.
Four Mediums, however, fit just fine.
4 heavies is where it is at. It can demolish everything. I usually run 2 gauss and try and headshot with my other mechs that can do it, with 4 heavies on KC you can just chew through the centre =) The only disadvantage is that it is just a mech killer and can only use LRM;s for trash

Interessanter Build, ich hab meinen auf Long Distance getrimmt, 2x 15 LSR mit reichlich Ammo und links und rechts jeweils 2 AK5/BF selber Stufe, da kannst die Gegner auf Distanz komplett zerlegen ohne grossartig nah an sie heran zu müssen ......
Got lucky on mech markets here lately my lance is now annihilator, atlas, hilander, and a awesome. Having so much fun in late game missions right now

This thing is an unstoppable Mech even so I've got a combo for it as well in this game will bring friends together and also the king crab car it excels at close range combat and it is an overkilling machine that can literally punch through holes of every Mech and I've joined house davion and this thing help me out a lot I could say but this Mech it's truly overpowered
Every day I am watching these now. Everyday I'm trying out new builds. Everyday I am wondering why I have so many CBills compared to Baradul.
Have noticed same, but I think it's primarily because Bara prioritizes Salvage on missions so much more often than I (and perhaps you?) do. Probably similar amounts of overall net worth, but proportionally he's got a lot more of his wealth in the form of weps/equipment and cold-storage mechs. More than once in this series, I've been kinda humbled when he says "I'm gonna buy that mech", I think "huh? it's like 10M more than what you have", then he just bangs it out with some weapons and a few wreck sell-offs.
@@cragnamorra yeah there's two schools of thought in mech games. I tend to keep a huge stable of salvage whenever possible. In the original mech commander turned base strategy game it got me to a point where every mech I had was entirely clan tech basically
that anansi and the huginn are 2 light mechs that can be a lot of fun if you ever want to play with go fast mechs, i could recommend both even mostly unmodified
Serious question about the upgrades. Do they stay equipped indefinitely or do they only stay on for a certain amount of days? New to the MechWarrior game but I love it and trying to unlock all the upgrades.
I put the 4 UAC5 with 2 LRM10 (tier5).. it lacks some ammo for long games, but the LRM complement better with build. Thanks!

The UAC dont generate that much heat in this game. I got away with way less heatsinks and a couple of LRMs on my build. Also I killed the KC with a headshot on the quest so I got all 4 tier 5 UACs lol, so I think they are cooler.
Unfortunatly UAC 5 is not as great as it was in original vanilla game.Damage is somehow meeh compared to 4 heavy rifles or ac10 BF.
My Carapace build is quad UAC5 with 7 tons of ammo, 2 SRM6ST with 2 tons of ammo and 4 DHS. The mech is pretty cold.
I did quad Hvy Rifles and twin LRM10-st. Gave it to AI. Worked pretty well. Then changed it to quad AC5bf and it was better.
Coop series would be cool

I've had good success dropping arty strikes on the dropship instead of trying to target the ground underneath. Just have time it so it starts before the drop ship starts to leave. I'll try and test if the strike stops or moves with the ship, but it's way easier to target.
The Annihilator with 4 T5 UAC5 with all ballistic perks …. That thing is fun .. it’s a face puncher

I'll need to double check but I think the AC5bf have similar dps to a UAC5 despite being 1 ton lighter and not jamming. Either way, try the crab using 4x LB10 solid slugs, 7-8 tons of ammo, and the rest in heat sinks - it's a monster.
the stats dont show real dmg output. as you can refire teh UAC's while still on cooldown. ofcourse at the risk of jammign them, so higher burst dps but then a forced cooldown when jammed.

I had a king crab with the reloaded mod with 2 AC-20s, 4 SRM-4s and 4ML. I miss Reloaded 😞
Tier V ER short burst lasers are crazy dude. Check them out when you can.
This game couldve been so much more. Like all the cockpit accessory assets they could've used from mwo. Moving guages in the cockpit. Something to make it seem more immersive. Like take out the whole mechbay display and let there be a pilots lounge so you could meet the pilots you hire and actually build an attachment to your lancemates.
To the first part of what you said: Yes, the cockpits could be better. But that could be distracting, considering that you should be looking out the window, not staring at your gauges.
To the second part: It's a simulator with a tiny bit of story tacked on. In a simulator, you don't care what about your AI teammates other than what stats they have.
This game should be called BattleTech, not MechWarrior. BattleTech is the tabletop 'Mech combat simulator. MechWarrior is the tabletop 'Mech pilot RPG.
I've been checking rare mechs ever since I found one rocking double heatsinks. Only happened once, but was not a hero.

manage to get 4 x Tier 5 UAC/5 with the KNG-CAR, mounted them all and just mash assaults in a few seconds.
Silly question but I’m wondering if I was to complete my campaign, could I start a new career and import all my data and do the missions for the hero mechs again? Or you can only get em once?

The dakka is fun but 4X LBX 10 Solid is serious business. Plenty of ammo and precise destruction. I can let the AI run this too with no worries, my pilot posted over 4K(!) damage in a recent mission with this setup.
I went with 4x UACs and 2xArtSRM 6s and was fine. I still think the Hero Cyclops is the best mech in the game with the Hero Quickdraw being number 2, but I would put that King Crab as a #3.

When do you get artillery strikes? I've only been able to get air strikes but you mentioned artillery. I assume it comes in the end-game?
Nah, they're the air strikes. As can be seen to the right of the screen in both battles. Bara just says "arty strike" a lot instead, I assume just a subconscious habit from another game. No big deal. :-)

Why don't king crabs have Lower Arms Actuators? They clearly have elbows on their models, do they not have them in the Tabletop? I've noticed that despite having an elbow they've got no LAAs in MWO, MW5, or Roguetech.
While I'm commenting, "Agincourt" is pronounced ajin-cor. The "a" is short and the first syllable is emphasized. It's French and refers to a famous battle.
that is really weird that you see no shit from the king crab's cockpit. assuming its size I thought there are at least two floors with a pool and a snack bar
It is kinda insane with 4 Heavy Rifles and 2 SRM. I mean it overheats like crazy, and rate of fire is crap, but it wrecks things. Of course I assume using this is only for insane people like me due to the drawbacks listed. lol
I tried that build as well, super hot but super lethal.
It is one click delete if you are patient and know how to aim……
my build is 4 lvl 5 uacs and it murders everything in like 2 seconds
That Orion took ~3 seconds to crack open and spoon out.
That Corsair is a rly strong AI Build as well. Wrecking up 2x to 3x the Damage of the Other AI Lancemates with pinpoint damage on top of that and Baradul didnt even take Note of that^^
But why wasting so many Missions with empty Cantina Spots? ;)
Got mine with 4 heavy rifles , 1 shot kills are possible with it.
On my king crab i run 2 UAC/5, 2 LB10X SS, and dual SRM6
Do you ever lose in this game? Seems really easy with you having tough mechs and the enemy feeding themselves in a few at a time to your lance
You can definitely lose just from some bad luck. Most of my losses came from taking a few unfortunate shots in a specific spot just from chance. Including one particular fucked up moment that I went over the edge of a sand dune only to get killed instantly from headshot when the ppc and autocannon burst fire 20 hit me square in the head and of all things a laser from a helicopter finished me off 2 seconds later.
Put the ER PPCs you got on your Corsair!
Im running mine with good old 4x "Lbx ac10sd"
