I have this remote. The loop part broke off and my local dealer doesn’t sell the case. A replacement remote is $220.00. I found the case on Amazon and saved over $200.00. Thanks to this video, I put the old remote’s guts in the new case and it’s all good. Very helpful content.
I have the identical fob as shown. I used the 2032 batteries since I had a bunch laying around from the wife’s key fob. They are a bit thicker but I had no issues at all putting the fob back together. Everything is working as it should
Thank you so much for this video, it was a life saver. My husband dropped the remote and the batteries popped out along with that piece of paper that looks like a "comma". He didn't know he needed that "comma" so he threw it away, put the batteries back in the remote and it wouldn't work. By the time I got home he was steaming, so I looked up how to fix his remote (your video was the only one I could find that was the same remote as his), I found out we indeed needed that "comma" piece of paper, so he had to retrieve it from the trash. We bought the truck 2nd hand so it looks like the 1st owner may have lost or ripped the original "comma" because ours feels like thin foam, almost like flattened egg carton. The only thing I was worried about when I was putting the remote back together was if I had the batteries going the right way....and yay me....I did! If anyone needs help with that, the bottom battery has the writing facing up, then the "comma" looking paper on top of that battery followed by the 2nd battery with the writing facing down. Also, our handmade "comma" looking paper was not attached to anything as his is in the video, ours is just lying in between the 2 batteries with the little tail jetting out the same way his is, just not connected anywhere. The "comma" piece of paper is definitely needed however, I don't know why. BTW, you can use a small flat head screwdriver to gently pry the pieces open, saves the paws! Thanks again for this video!!
It’s so much easier if you just pop the key out, stick a screw driver into the little hole and pry the bottom off. That’s how my key is designed to come apart and it gives you access to the battery without having to take anything else apart
Okay so at the 1:30 part it skips and I can't get the battery cover back on. That's the part I need help with. It doesn't seat properly for me to put the xover back on.
There are 2 small "loops" at the bottom, where the 2 "legs" fit into, but you don't necessarily have to seat them first, as you can press down on them after the top part snaps in place. Kind of like when you snap your cellphone case back on after removing it.
When I get an oil change at the Ford dealership I bring new key fob batteries so the service desk will change them for free. Otherwise the fob is a nightmare to take apart and put back.
Please note, that at :47 where he removes the battery from the packaging, that operation was "pre-done", because it is extremely hard to unpackage the battery, and it cannot be done without a knife! Be careful. Shame on Energizer.
@@59plexiI guess not all 2015 keys are the same because mines not like this one either. It doesn’t have the little latch to pull down and separate the two sides
@@25enyce Because the CR2032 is 0.7mm thicker than the CR2025, it's very hard to reassemble the key fob without damaging it. This is not the coorect battery to use with your F150!!!

Thank you. They tried to charge me $150 to change this and I knew I could do it if I could find it. Thank you

Thank you so much!!😊
My 2016 F150 key fob does NOT have that little open latch! Can't see any way to open it.
After reading all the comments… Mine is a 2015 Lariat and it is also a 2025 size battery. Better check yours first.
Thank you for your video. Appreciated

Had the same problem lol
They should have women design these fobs as no woman would ruin her nails just to the that sucker op
Worked great!

Is the paper tab between the batteries necessary?
Thank You !!
Do you need to reprogram anything? Or once there changed out it works just as normal again?
No need to reprogram works as normal after the battery is replaced.
Very helpful, thanks.

I lost the plastic separator that goes between the 2 batteries. Will a piece of paper work ?
The same happen to me did you find a solution?
What does the gold key inside do?
unlocks the drivers side door in case your fob battery dies. (youtube how to access the key hole)
Not as easy to open as he made it look
THANKS 😁
Thanks!
