    Bought my 2015 f150 Lariat in 2018 with 30K miles. 5.0 engine. 6speed trans. Still have it with 80K miles and it's perfect. Paid off and will keep driving the 5.0 for many more years to come. No issues at all. Take care of your truck and it'll give you years of service.

      I have that same issue with my 2016 FX-4 with a 5.0. Have some great sounding pipes on mine and love to hear it roar. Have a little over 50k with no issues at all so far. BTW, the seat option is Heated and Cooled seats. They do both so maybe the malfunction lies with a loose nut behind the wheel not knowing how to use them.

    I've got a 2018 F150 3.5 and I've had some of the same trouble you're talking about. My 10spd slips and harsh shifts on 6-5 and 5-4. Also I'm going on for the warped dash. And my truck will not start on occasion several times in a row, key turn to start and nothing...repeat several attempts and after 5 or 7 it starts. My Sync 3 is a hot mess. Won't power off sometimes, cuts off calls, turns itself on when you leave truck idling and walk away. I've had the water pump and rear leaf spring replaced as well as the tensioner pulley and belt. Currently I have 8400 miles on it and bought it new with 7 miles on it march 15. It will soon be lemon material because it's been over 33 days in the shop.

    Bought my '15 brand new with the 5.0 engine and the 6 speed. I absolutely love this truck. One thing, do NOT follow Ford's recommended maintenance schedule - Oil change at 5K or less / trans service @ 30K - Their recommended schedule only gets you out of warranty period and then you have 'hard part failures' which then cost YOU. Like dadlovestofish says, take care of your truck and it will take care of you

    Bought a 2015 2.7L Super Crew in September 2018 with ~45K miles. It went limp coming out of my driveway in mid-December. Went in the shop then for ~4 weeks. Since then, I've gotten it back from the shop 3 separate times and had the check engine light come on anywhere from 1 to 7 days after and had to bring it back in to get looked at. Since it initially went in the shop in mid-December, it's been in the shop probably ~8 weeks total. I wanted a truck for years before I bought this one. It's been incredible when I've had it, but I'm super disappointed in the reliability so far and doubt I'll buy another Ford truck if it doesn't get figured out soon.

The Ram is very nice but my buddy bought a brand new 2018 Ram and it’s been to the dealer on three occasions to wheel center caps falling off to rear brake light issues and a noticeable engine knock on startup and less noticeable knock while idling. It hasn’t even made it one full year yet.

    I have a 2015, 3.5 non turbo xlt with 130000kms and its been absolutely flawless. 0 issues. I wanted this engine over the turbos because of the simplicity, and reliability. I do all my own oil changes at 5000kms and changed my front and rear differential, transmission, transfer case fluid every 60000kms. Some cars are built better than others but the key to longevity is regular maintenance. A lot of ppl complain about their cars having problems but they do just the minimum maintenance. Btw never follow the dealer recommended service intervals, change fluids way earlier.

  • @EricFortuneJr.
    @EricFortuneJr. 6 лет назад +5

    The truth of the matter is most pickup trucks are fairly dependable and low maintenance. Engineers have made great strides to insure that trucks are easy to live with on a daily basis. Ford sells nearly a million trucks each year so a few thousand out of a million units are going to have problems. This is nearly double what the competition sells so it stands out more. GM isn’t too far behind Ford in sales figures so unsurprisingly you’ll hear about their recalls too. These are big companies that sell a lot of cars and trucks, tens of millions so you’ll be more likely to hear about common defects in certain models. IT DOESN’T MEAN THAT IT’S A BAD BRAND! Just the risk when something is mass produced in a factory, certain defects will slip through quality check points and make it to a dealer near you. My advice is to avoid the first model years, especially on American manufactured products including certain Japanese names made here, any issues you experience soon after buying should be addressed while under warranty even if it’s intermittent and no longer displays and read that book in your glove box, it’s called an owners manual as it contains all preventative maintenance and safety info, it’s part of your car and it’s there for a reason.

    • @KB-bh9hp
      @KB-bh9hp 6 лет назад

      Eric Fortune Jr. I agree with everything you said. Was shopping for a mid sized 7 seater, bought a '17 explorer, heard the current gen explorers were pretty reliable to begin with, but they obviously had since 2010, with the 2011 redesign to fix any small issues. Went for a naturally aspirated model, have heard good things. Btw does anyone know if leaving oil in your engine for a decent amount of time if you don't drive it alot will hurt it? Like as in my explorer got a oil change 6 months ago, but I've only put a thousand miles on the car, should I change the oil now?

    • @nickschaps4022
      @nickschaps4022 6 лет назад

      yes you should change it. Thats why the oil change sticker usually has mileage and a date listed. you shouldn't go more than 4 months before you change it.

    Ecoboost engines are suppose to turn off at a stop. they turn back on when you release the brake. It saves you gas and MPG's so you are not burning gas while sitting in traffic.... It was one of the whole main features of the ecoboost engines. You can easily turn off this feature by clicking one of the buttons on your dash, or permanently turning it off.

    That's the problem with newer cars. They have so many tech features which sounds good on paper but it's just more things that can break. I've always had Ford vehicles and have never had any problems but I have trouble going for a high end version of any newer car. Even Toyota and Honda products.

    Again , G.M. Sierra & Chevrolet Silverado are a split brand ! Same truck different trim levels . Combine the two and they outsell Ford . I've had a Ford F-150 and learned the hard way just how cheap their built . I've had a dodge ram , same thing , classic Ram problems . I bought a Silverado , loved it . Bought another Silverado , still have it , only 11,000 miles so far . No problems ! Want to learn about G.M. quality for real ? Watch the twisted ditch test .

    My only 2 problems I've had on my 2015 5.0V8 coyote equipped truck is my catalytic converter seems hooped. My exhaust smells like rotten eggs in cold weather, and I do notice a clunky hard downshift from 5th to 4th gear. It has been ultra reliable though so far, even in -48 celcius. (The steering and suspension can get a bit stiff in that kind of cold, but any vehicle can)

All my gauges stopped reading RPMS ,speed radio ,a/c powerfront windows ,back windows still come down so yeah . Love the RUclips researchers lol. Build 800k units a year and bound to be issues. Problem is with social media people tend to share issues first and dramatize small issues and annoyance’s far more often than allow dealers to take care of them through a service network. Many whine about recalls but I just had a recall done to install a longer front brake line because it has been found if you jump the vehicle it could be a tad short for wheel travel if it was a raptor but it’s not. I prefer that then no recalls or service and watch your vehicle on fire on the side of the road. I’ve owned all makes and have found ford truck to be generally excellent. As many demand more luxury into a vehicle designed to be abused and worked is bound to cause quirks.

      Hey Jasper... I have a 2017 F150 xlt supercab 4x4 5.0 with 3.73 gears. Bought it as a leftover in Jan '18. The truck currently has over 120k. LOVE this truck. Only issue was a leaking rear shock at about 500 miles. Just went to the Ford dealership and bought one, put it on myself. Not worth going to the service dept for that. I use mine as a work truck. I took half of the fold up rear seat completely out of the cab to give me room for tools... and my golf clubs lol. There is still a small jumpseat on the passenger side... plus i have a front bench seat (fold down console) so in a pinch i can still fit 4 people if needed. So... other than a new battery this past spring and some new tires and rims (Lariat takeoffs on e- bay) ZERO issues. Best part is... every once in awhile on a back road I'll redline her... that 5.0 MOVES!! 🐎 What a blast. I think that's what these motors need every now and then right?
      But yeah... I can't say enough positive things about this truck bro.
      Good luck Jasper. 🤝🏼

    I HATE MY 2017 5.0L F 150!! DONT BUY IT. The day i got it, i noticed the transmission slip from 3 to 1, got it fixed in the first two weeks. The dealer said it was "normal". Ongoing issues, my driver side door does not lock, i have to roll down the window, hold the door and manually lock the door. With OR without my trailer. When i press on the breaks the "trailer connected" sign appears, i let go of the breaks and it says "trailer disconnected" always with the warning sounds. Its super fun in traffic (being sarcastic). I gone to the dealer about 5 times for it, all they done is reset it and the last time i went, they told me they cant do anything for me because Ford Canada is fixing the issue and will contact owners with a solution. I called Ford Canada customer relations and they said that its not true and they are now aware of the issues. I have had this truck for a year now. On we go with the other issues and all with the warning sound.
    "Steering wheel fault service requiered" that is message i got on the highway going to work.
    "Service advance trac" next one.
    "Hill star assist not available"
    "Parking AID not available"
    These dont have a sound
    Truck wont start when i turn the key
    The entertainment/navigation system or SYNC wont turn on
    I work in construction, i depend on my truck and need to travel to diferrent locations. I bought it new, i service my truck on time and make sure i keep it away from dust and anythingthat that my damage it on the site and to have these problems is very disappointing to say the least. I like or rather liked Ford and just make sure you do your research before you buy it. If Ford cant fix my truck, im going to trade my truck for something else. I have already told my friends about and they went and bought Chevy Silverado and had no issues. Im going to check them out after i get these truck "fixed" again.
    Hope this help you guys and if you do get a F 150 that you might not have any problems with it.

    We have a 17 Ford F-150 at work. We put 15k on it and it has been generally reliable. However, we have had three recalls and one was for the passenger door not latching. That took it off the road for two days. I have always been a Ford guy but the interior is cheap to me and the driver’s seat has an overpowering lumbar. Since this is a company truck I feel grateful I’ve gotten to try it out without spending a dime. My truck at work is a 12 Ford F-250 with the 6.2 and it has never let me down. It has a hair under 90k miles on it and I tow with it regularly. It also doesn’t have the fancy gizmos and computers and drives like a truck. I’m about to purchase a new truck for my own and i have decided I’m switching to the GMC Sierra with the 5.3. Sorry Ford.

    I am not an expert when it comes down to trucks. I have been flying model airplanes for years. Some of the gas engines/motors for the plane were Taiwanese and Chinese, people would cuss the sh...t out of those, for some, they were purring like cat. Few batches can be wrong. American vehicles have much more features than Japanese cars, but when it comes to the resale, Toyota is hard to beat. I just drove F-150 XL 2.7 Twin Turbo 2018, I have fallen in love with it and dying to buy one. I almost got it today but due to a little bit turmoil in my finance, I had to stop. Although, few trucks must have had some issues, but we cannot splatter them all with a filth just at ones. Owners complained about it, so where is the proof of them? Is it just a word of mouth or just ramblings? Generally people tend to bitch and can't be happy once they get these trucks. It's good to appreciate technology and machines, humans they can never be perfect otherwise, this world would be Utopia....

    I bought a 2015 5.0 last year at 63K miles and it rides like a luxury sedan but with a beast under the hood. It spent it's first 4-5 years in northern Ontario Canada. Had to get under and power wash all the road sand off! Treated and painted a few rust spot on the frame. It feels like a new trk to me.
    I do feel the hard shift from 5th to 4th but no slips so it's probably just the nature of these 6 speeds. It's not bad. Only other things I could complain about would be the useless spare tire lock and that I can't figure out how to drain all the coolant. If anyone knows how to drain the coolant system on a 2015 V8 yell back at me please!
