    I did this De-Cat mod. on my 2012 StreetGlide.
    After seeing the Catalytic converter inside, I was amazed that the engine could exhaust at all!

    Good video getting straight to the point and good info. I like the idea of hiding it behind the heat shield. The “behind the scenes” out take was a clever addition as was your “SMASH” the subscribe button. Next time I want to hear “ wot sup yoo toob”….

      Thanks for the rad comment! I’m glad you liked the “behind the scenes” I hope to add more of those as I get better with video editing. I do try and get to the point with my videos purpose… usually elbows deep myself when I need some small piece of information so videos that answer quick are what helps me! Thank you very much for your comment. Jeff

    Hey a quick question, are there any issues with the 02 sensors? Or engine codes? Thanks for the great video.

    • @CrackerJackMechanic
      @CrackerJackMechanic  Год назад +2

      Great question! No issues to speak of, both bikes had tuners. But that said with the stock ecm it would be something to look into deeper myself

      If your on a sportster or a twin cam you will have to tune the ECM for this modification. If your on a M8 you won’t need to tune but you will realize a tune is necessary to get the power curve to feel right. My old 107 lost a bunch of bottom end pull and that’s where the 107 likes to run. After I tuned it the world was good again🤣

    Thank you. Do you need to re-tune your bike after this?

    • @CrackerJackMechanic
      @CrackerJackMechanic  Год назад

      good question. short answer… no. but, to get optimal performance, yes. that said, do you have a stock ECU? you would need an aftermarket tuner to make any changes.
      most people just ride it as is, unless you plan to change your cams, the added cost for the tuner and dyno time isn’t usually worth it

    Has anyone removed the Cat and also modified the collector into a 2 into 1 headpipe?

      Thanks for the question. I’ve never done it myself but maybe someone has.

      pretty bad of course. The smell will be pretty toxic and you gonna breath it in e.g. each time you stop on intersections. I don't recommend this procedure. I bought a bike with non-stock exhaust and returned the stock one. I like it way more.

      @@VagaBumAdventures are you doing the front (like I show in this video) or the backside? just wondering if that is what allows you to pull the cat off in one piece? It does seem to be "glued" to the "inner facing side" of the pipe. I will definitely be checking out your channel (+1 sub for you!) thanks again hombre

    • @VagaBumAdventures
      @VagaBumAdventures Год назад +1

      @CrackerJack Mechanic I do the backside. The cat is kinda brazed in place in the collector. So I pry the cat away. Some of the material stick to the pipe, and I'll grind out any big pieces.

    • @CrackerJackMechanic
      @CrackerJackMechanic  Год назад +1

      @@VagaBumAdventures the time savings makes it worth it then! Hiding the cutout is one thing, but the hassle of cleaning out the cat is a bit of a nightmare!
