I did this same method many years ago to a brand new 1988 Chevy S-10. I removed the muffler and pipes after the cat, got me a long steel rod with a point on it and a big hammer and within 15 minutes it was done! Truck ran so much better and sounded really good too! It had over 200K when I got rid of it.
Yes , the cats on a 114 heritage are on the slip On's, I put some Rinehart race mufflers, and the bike is somewhat louder and I smell exhaust fumes more. I now, cannot hear my speakers🤣🤣🤣😂🙃
Did you see any issues that deterred you from doing this while the header was still on the bike? Aside from being able to dump out the debris, obviously.
Not at all, you can leave the exhaust system on and only remove the right muffler. Same process. Then start up to blow all debris out then reinstall muffler. I have done 2 bikes with the exhaust on for friends. It’s a bit harder to do it that way but not an issue at all.
Hi, anytime you change the air intake, spark or gas flow and exhaust flow you should retune.period. However, the M8s are tuned rich due to emission regulations so it will be fine if you don’t.
No engine light no faults. Some mechanics will say that if you change anything on airflow, spark or gas you need to retune. However the Harley original tune is already rich so no need to do anything
Due to you constantly moving the pipe around while talking, for whatever reason I can’t imagine, it was almost impossible to hear what you were saying. Sorry job of videoing imo.

Thanks for taking time to help us with this venture
My pleasure, glad it helped
Use a ball honing tool. Works great. 100 grit 120 works ok. Fast clean out.
Why did you take all you exhaust off I just drilled mine out
Good idea did you remap it ?
By doing this catless do you lose back pressure or thing that would make the bike not run as efficiently ???
why didnt you use a extension with a Cours then fine flapper to clean up the service .
Does the exhaust smell different after removing the cat?
It did smell at 1st but went away soon after.

I thought about this but then decided to just buy new head pipes, way less work
I was thinking about doing this to my stock 2021 road glide limited would it need to be retuned with a new map

@@anthonya3699I believe you mean tuned lean for EPA emissions. Great video!! Im gonna drill mine '22 FLHXS
Why not buy a header pipe sans catalyst!
Did you get an an engine light after you did it

@@anthonya3699 ok thank you
Next time talking to the microphone so people can hear you
Dude, speak up! Learned nothing here.
You don't even need to do all of this if you aren't concerned with saving the catalytic converter. Simply pull the
