PartSelect Thank you for a excellent, informative and complete video presentation on where to locate and how to replace a Whirlpool Dryer High Limit Switch. My Whirlpool Gas Dryer now heats up and operates properly. I also do believe that your video is a World-class, outstanding presentation!

I tested this using two multimeters and they tested fine. I know the thermal fuse is NOT re-settable and after it cools down, the dryer will work just fine. I notice it cuts out at about 20 minutes, I let it cool and than it starts again. The dial also works thru all functions, provided its under 20 minutes. Do you think its the motor? When I saw cuts out, I am referring to the whole machine, not just the flame. Yes I cleaned out the ducts really good, I even took it out and cleaned it.

@partselect I had my thermal fuse blown and in the service label it states: "Electric Models - If heater box thermal cut-off is OPEN: A) Change the thermal cut-off and hi-limit thermostat." Now is that located where you show in this video? And why would I have to replace it if it works when I test it for continuity?

I have a Whirlpool LGN1000HQ0 gas dryer and I noticed the machine will turn on, but when it gets to the energy saving * setting it will turn off and not re-start at all settings. I have to wait till it cools and than it will start. It drys well, so problem with the heat, could it be the thermal fuse or the cycling thermo thermostat? I also noticed it has 4 prongs (cycling) and I tested them using a multimeter it beeps between the far away prongs, but not the close ones (purple wires), Thanks.

+Kenn Cuevas If the gas valve igniter does not glow check both the igniter and the flame sensor for continuity with a multi-meter.If both test okay you will then need to make some live voltage tests which should only be performed by a qualified person.

Have a look at the door switch, thermostats and the timer and test those parts with a multi-meter.
