I'm an 80 yr old woman angler. I just discovered your RUclipss! I want to thank you for explaining so many skills so clearly. When I was 70 I bought a Hobie fishing kayak and love fishing that way. But until then I was a bank angler...pond and reservoirs...mostly pan fish. Now I'm trying to do more bass fishing and really appreciate your information about lures and equipment! Please keep up the good work so I can keep learning!
Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. One side is silver and the other is the green/orange shown. This is not bad, just unconventional. In terms of fishing, I have found the lure works just fine without a tail like a craw or shad. That addition is up to you. Also, the hook part where you attach the swivel snap or tie the line is a problem on baits these days, since it's able to slide up and down. However this lure seems to be tight enough that that doesn't happen often, and you can solve it by putting a thin slice of medical tube over the hook before attaching the line. Like others have said, it's really magic on a good windy day.
I love topwater actions , it doesn’t matter if it’s bass, pikes, stripers , heck if I’m desperate, I would even toss on a micro topwater lure for sun fish topwater blow up🤣🤣
Agreed! Great picks..Only thing that I would add is a Ned Rig. When a summer heatwave hits and the bite is off, sometimes it is the only thing that will catch fish.
The absolute best advice in this video in my very very humble opinion, "Don't go overboard with your colors, get a couple and focus on fishing." I have dove all the way down the rabbit hole on trying different types of plastics, different brands among those types and all sorts of colors. But on tournament day I make sure I have: black & blue, green pumpkin, watermelon red flake, and white. Those 4 colors on a creature style, worm, and baitfish plastics will get it done. You could even drop the white for everything but moving bait trailers.
Debo, I like this type of video a lot. It is so helpful to get an idea of baits/rigs to use, for the season, along with insruction on how to fish them. Sometimes I get overwhelmed with all the possibilities so it's nice to get a short suggestion list too.
I love watching your videos you explain everything so well that any body can memorize most of what you show us I know I learn a little something o. Every video I watch di yeah keep the wonderful job and keep having fun fishing
I like your selection Debo........I might have to switch out the buzz bait for a whopper plopper (just personal preference)....but all in all good solid 5 picks.....thanks aging for another great video.
Hey Debo could you post a video of a full reel cleaning of that Curado 200e7. I have 2 and want to know how to clean them. Thanks for the feeeshin tips 🎣👍🏻
Excellent descriptions of your choices, techniques, tackle and reasoning, Debo. As a bank beater I appreciate your take on things. Larry H - SW Indiana
One recent tip I've noticed on the tube is to put a bobber stop directly on the hook. Put it on over the hook tip past the barb and up to the first bend in the hook.. The bait will not slide down the hook and last longer
Such a great video Debo. My top 5, no particular order, drop shot - crank bait - frog - soft jerk bait - spinner bait, yeah that works in the summer time too!! 🎣👍
Frogs are my first lure of the day…then I use Tx rig with some kinda beaver or craw…I might flip a jig or two. Here in Idaho it seems like it’s always windy so buzz baits work pretty good. The smallies up here seem to like the 6th sense prawn in grass candy or black w/ blue flake.
In no particular order: 1) hollow body frogs, 2) jigs, 3) Texas rig (might be replaced by the Tokyo rig when I finally start experimenting with it this weekend), 4) wacky rig, and 5) ned rig.
Good five picks for summer fishing and I always have two Texas rigs. Usually one 1/8 and one 3/16th if it is windy I may step up to a 1/4 oz. Keep up the good work.
100% agree with your picks Debo, and as far as a more snagless chatterbait esp. around wood, you should really give the Z-man chatterbait freedom a go. I'm actually a bit surprised you didn't mention the in between lure of a buzz-frog like the Booyah Toad runner, or Teckel Sprinker, etc. for that thick summer fishing when you want the frog profile with the buzzbait action?! Good stuff as always my friend!
I 100% agree with everything you said in this video. I mostly fish a lake that's close to the house that was an old rock quarry. The ChatterBait does really good against the bank line with all of the jagged rocks and boulders. As soon as I started banging it off of the rocks on the bank line I started catching bass. 🎣🇺🇸🎣
My all-time favorite summer lure on my favorite mountain pond (Oregon) easily has to be a tiny top water prop bait. The bass dont get any bigger than 3lbs at that spot, but they feed and fight hard! With a little 2 inch prop bait I can fish it along the pads, under trees, and even in open water and get bites every other cast in the morning. I mean, who doesnt love getting constant topwater bites?
Dig’n it coming from a fellow bait maker would love to see, well you know how it goes yeah I know you want to make them or fish them? I’m hip!!! Keep making videos and I’ll keep watching!!!
I would agree with your list debo but I would have to add 1 lure top 6 lol just because I know it works for the more shallow rivers and streams near me the rebel craw any size any color 👍
Hey brother- Great vid as always and your timing is perfect! Going camping/fishing with the Scouts in two days and will be telling them to watch this vid for prep!
I've caught all my PBs on chatterbait. I love all zman products and fish them religiously! I also really like the reaction innovations creature baits for Texas rigs. And zoom flukes are a go to for crushing dinks and panfish!
Now that I’m neck deep in a frog addiction, if I was you I would low key be making up videos to make related to frogs.. “The best frog combo for fishing on Tuesday July 29th” Lol cheers brother
Hey Debo, I love your fishing content. I agree with you on the 5 best summer baits but one of my favorites is the straight tail worm on a Shakey head jig. For me this would be in my top 5. But you covered some of the best ones. I guess a top 6. 😆 🤣 Keep feeshin!
The 6th sense clout is a really solid worm. I love the nirvana color they have and cinnamon crave is becoming a favorite. Only thing is they are some soft worms but they aren’t too expensive and work great!
Hey Debo, awesome Vid. Been really getting into the buzz baits, lately. Have caught some donks. I was going to mention to you, if you’re looking for some nice buzz baits. I have two suggestions. Number one, I was surprised, but big bite baits, has a awesome buzz bait. Double wire bait keeper. And the thump on the head, and the squeak drives them nuts. Been very surprised. And the 2cnd, major thump, And squeak is the the boogerman buzz baits. Omg, you need one, of these. Was watching a B-lat Vid. And he mentioned it. Caught my attention, And purchased. Glad I did. Anyway, my two cents are spent. Again, awesome Vid. Thanks for all the pointers. If you check them out. Reach out, and let me know whatcha Think. 👊🏻
Instead of a worm weight, I use a swivel connected directly to the hook with a snap ring. No line twist and the weight of the swivel will help with longer casting and get the worm down deeper and faster.
Your informative/instructional vids are always top notch👍. My list is much like yours ‘cept for the topwater. Lots of walking baits and poppers are in my arsenal. ✌️
Nice picks. I was surprised no swim jig. I’ve been having a super tough time catching them on the frog and I’ll throw it everywhere every time. You should do a frog tutorial !
Debo, you have helped me get off the couch, out to bass pro then out to the water. I love the videos but I'll be honest, I HATE the buzz baits lol. Way too finicky for my simple mind 😆 keep rippin lip bud!
I also bought the 5.4 Clout and the same color! I'm really excited to use it. Not sure if it would be great on just a wacky rig or if I should try it on a Texas Rig. Another banger from you Debo, love ya man!!
I've been throwing a 6th sense Vega frog all black here in Iowa. I've been throwing it all week long in Waterloo. I've got a 11 fish count in two days of fishing all together 4.5 hours total. 6.5 foot medium heavy eagle line.. I use 14-20 pound braid in thick vegetables big dawg
for wacky gamakatsu makes a finesse wacky hook with a tiny weight on the shank at the eyelet. It has two extremely lite wires on them. I love them an may have even heard of them on this channel or went looking for something else and found them. I think I use a 1/16 or 1/32 just to speed it up a touch.
Seems like a solid "Top 5". I'm gonna have to try a buzz bait on a softer rod. Liked it on my heavy but I felt like I pulled the bait away a few times. Im also gonna have to commit to the Texas rig. I'm gonna throw some of those worms you sent me real soon. Another great video!!!
100% wacky rig. Love the neko hooks for it as well. Try grabbing yourself some silicone tubing from amazon, cutting it in to bands, and use your needle nose to stretch it open, then slip over your senko. Has much more surface to distribute the pressure, as even with orings they'll cut through the senko. I just run the hook through the middle, through the silicone tubing, and can go an hour on the same senko.

“Stand uppy grass” 😂 I knew exactly what you meant when you said it too
I think he meant eelgrass but yea i knew what he meant
Debo's Top-5
1. Frog
2. Frog
3. Frog
4. Teckel Sprinker
5. Frog
I'm not sure about pick #5...it may be a popping frog...🤔
Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. You have me fishing frogs every trip now. Thank you for the practical information.
Debo, your videbos are always informative, even if I don't fish what you fish, because it adds to the options that I have in my "fishing toolkit".
Agreed! Great picks..Only thing that I would add is a Ned Rig. When a summer heatwave hits and the bite is off, sometimes it is the only thing that will catch fish.
My top 5 are :
1- frog
2- 1/2 oz jig with RI trailer
3- 1/2 oz white spinnerbait
4- squarebill
5- TRD
All thrown on Dobyns rods with Daiwa baitcasters
The absolute best advice in this video in my very very humble opinion, "Don't go overboard with your colors, get a couple and focus on fishing."

I always enjoy your videos. Try my best to watch all of them.
Thanks for the tips & breaking down which setups you are using with what. Helps alot.
Debo, I like this type of video a lot. It is so helpful to get an idea of baits/rigs to use, for the season, along with insruction on how to fish them. Sometimes I get overwhelmed with all the possibilities so it's nice to get a short suggestion list too.
I was looking into frogs. Your video came just in time.
Got my first frog fish of the year a couple of weeks ago. I was giddy for a days!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing better!!!
Great video; excellent choices! This video knocked it out of the park! Keep it up!
I love watching your videos you explain everything so well that any body can memorize most of what you show us I know I learn a little something o. Every video I watch di yeah keep the wonderful job and keep having fun fishing
Two thumbs up! Love the videos. Keep up the great work! Definitely helps me try different techniques. Thanks.
Thanks for the tips, your garage looks like mine a mix of what I want and family needs
My top-5

.2 hj 7 rapala husky jerk
.3 any curly tail grubs
.4 rebel pop r
.5 night crawlers
I like your selection Debo........I might have to switch out the buzz bait for a whopper plopper (just personal preference)....but all in all good solid 5 picks.....thanks aging for another great video.
a solid summer time lineup for sure. I'm going to catch a frog bass, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna!
Yo DEBO! Red crank bait rattle trap👊😎🌅🤘☀️ AWSOME VIDS 💯💯💯
Thabks for the slack line wacky rig trick. I been hooked on ned rig and havent thrown much wacky lately
Of course this comes out when it is like 67 degrees in Iowa today!
What happened to you gilo I miss watching your videos 😃
Great video! Your suggestion on keeping the rod tip up on buzz baits is spot on! Missed a bunch of bass by not doing that! Go Hawkeyes!
Great choices! Very useful rigs and choices. Just go fresh and get r done.

Awesome tips on the buzz bait. I’m still trying to catch my first buzz bait fish.
Favorite fishing RUclipsr for sure 👍
Such a great video Debo. My top 5, no particular order, drop shot - crank bait - frog - soft jerk bait - spinner bait, yeah that works in the summer time too!! 🎣👍
Always fantastic information bro!! Tnx for the tips as well. really helps.

Just caught the first summer frog fish this weekend with my old man!! Ton of blowups to end the day! Perfect timing on this video 💥🐸🌅
Excellent video really enjoyed it thanks 😊👊
great video, Debo! Always learning from your videos.
In no particular order: 1) hollow body frogs, 2) jigs, 3) Texas rig (might be replaced by the Tokyo rig when I finally start experimenting with it this weekend), 4) wacky rig, and 5) ned rig.
Agree 100%
Debo, might add a squarebill to the list especially for summertime.
Good video Debo! Just starting out it gets overwhelming sometimes very informative you’ve helped me out.
Great video!! Ive never had success with a frog but I love all the lures on this list!
Good five picks for summer fishing and I always have two Texas rigs. Usually one 1/8 and one 3/16th if it is windy I may step up to a 1/4 oz. Keep up the good work.
Great video brother Debo. I think I really need to look into those missile baits
Love a 8-1 reel for a buzzbait. Makes it so much easier. Use your thumb to feather it down and reel as soon as it hits the water. Great vid Debo.
Thanks for letting us know how to fish this different lures… sometimes I have Trouble with the speed
100% agree with your picks Debo, and as far as a more snagless chatterbait esp. around wood, you should really give the Z-man chatterbait freedom a go. Great list & great info as usual Debo. If I could add on lure it would be a square bill.
Great informative video man.
Good stuff Debo. Definitely love throwing a buzz bait. My favorite one is the cavitron by mega strike.
I 100% agree with everything you said in this video. I mostly fish a lake that's close to the house that was an old rock quarry. I love it bro. Keep it up. I've learned so much from you since I really got into finishing in April this year.
Dig’n it coming from a fellow bait maker would love to see, well you know how it goes yeah I know you want to make them or fish them? I’m hip!!! Keep making videos and I’ll keep watching!!!
i may need to look into weedless bladed jigs. i love your gear breakdown and explaining how to fish lures
I would agree with your list debo but I would have to add 1 lure top 6 lol just because I know it works for the more shallow rivers and streams near me the rebel craw any size any color 👍
that SPRO Bronzeye Frog in the color Freak is great!
Another great video! 🎣
My favorite videos.. DEBO you rock! Please keep doing what you do.
Hey brother- Great vid as always and your timing is perfect! Going camping/fishing with the Scouts in two days and will be telling them to watch this vid for prep!

Love all the information. Always good to learn more stuff for fishing.
I really like your videos. Great Details and explanations.

Michigan State Sparty freak, btw. I 💘 seeing Big 10 fans fly their colors.

As always another great video
From Idaho, your videos are the most applicable to my waters that I’ve found. Plus I’m a bank fisherman only ;) bank gang!
Thanks Debo, liked all your picks, my favorite of those is the Texas rig, also I use a Slugo, internally weighted set weedless. Can use it anywhere.
I was in Cabelas for father's day and saw P-Line makes a topwater line definitely want to try it my top 5 are pretty much what your using
Frogg in hot summers days is the best you cover lat of waters
Agree great lure selection
Instead of a worm weight, I use a swivel connected directly to the hook with a snap ring. No line twist and the weight of the swivel will help with longer casting and get the worm down deeper and faster.
Legitimately like all the content you put out! Can’t forget about the ole squerbel!
Booyah Old Smokey has catch me some Big Berthas 🤙🏾🤙🏾
Crushed it !
Great video debo
I love the big bite fighting frog. I got a 25 count in Okeechobee. Definitely need to get green pumpkin tho.
New subscriber. I watched a few videos now. I appreciate your content.
Your informative/instructional vids are always top notch👍. My list is much like yours ‘cept for the topwater. Lots of walking baits and poppers are in my arsenal. ✌️
No love for the Jitterbug?
That’s my all time favorite lure, the 5/8 jointed black is a summer night KILLER.
Great video!
That was a favorite of mine when I was younger! I haven't thrown it in some time!
Nice picks. I was surprised no swim jig. I’ve been having a super tough time catching them on the frog and I’ll throw it everywhere every time. You should do a frog tutorial !
We need more jig makin videos ASAP. They are the bomb
Debo, you have helped me get off the couch, out to bass pro then out to the water. I love the videos but I'll be honest, I HATE the buzz baits lol. Way too finicky for my simple mind 😆 keep rippin lip bud!
I definitely agree with all those lures for summer time fishing.
Great video totally agree.
I landed my first frog fish for the year today! I really like the thinner profile and hooks on the vega frog walks real easy.
Try using a flat thick bodied craw/creature bait on a Vibrating Jig around wood. It will help it glide right over it.
for wacky gamakatsu makes a finesse wacky hook with a tiny weight on the shank at the eyelet. It has two extremely lite wires on them. I love them an may have even heard of them on this channel or went looking for something else and found them. I think I use a 1/16 or 1/32 just to speed it up a touch.

best lure ever.. bluegill under a bobber.. lol.. good call on the lures D, even though I don't often use them.. lol
Love the new okuma Serrano top water rod for chatter baits and lighter spinner bait
Wealth of knowledge and experience. thank you very much!
I liked the top 5's great info. Since I'm new to fishing I could use more info on cadence and the method of actual fishing. Thanks
Love the videos, but why would you put 65lb braid on a 30lb rod? Won't that break the rod? Excuse my ignorance 😅
I love the tip videos, Thanks Debo!
