    1. No instinct to procreate, just a primitive urge to mate.
    2. We learn gender roles from society, such as to have children.
    3. There is not a biological clock to have children, only culture.
    4. Ethics of childbirth is: death, disease, and suffering (of the planet too).
    5. We are aware of our mortality, so live is one-way trip to the end.
    6. Our we obliged to create life for what it has to offer? Decision matrix.
    7. Family blood line obligation?
    8. Environmentally conscientious avoiding overpopulation.
    9. Unchecked mindless reproduction.
    10. Childless no different in mental health in old age.
    11. Parenting is a selfish act, (especially in cultures where children support).

I have nothing against parents or children especially with I having been lucky to have been adopted by the time I was a teenager. However there is no denying that my husband and I being a dual income couple affords us freedom and options that are rationally unheard of for some couples with children. Fortunately this Tedx talk provides both fair and persuasive points on dual income no kid couples.

If you feel like you want it everyday then have kids.( with or without support) If not you can always be around children without giving birth and be apart of someone's village. Suicide and antinatalism are not the same. Antinatalism aims to prevent suicide. Something or someone that doesn't exist cannot commit suicide. By the way, I don't wish a painful existence for my children. That's why I don't have any. Children suffering for me and because of me, that would be cruel.

@@doloresvangaal2248 I'm very sorry you feel that way. I'm certainly not saying it's selfish to choose to not have children. There's nothing selfish about choosing your own life. But I do think it's nihilistic to assume that life is nothing but suffering. I can't agree with people like Sam Harris (who happens to have children) that we shouldn't have children because life is nothing but suffering. Rainy days make us appreciate the sunny days. I was in an accident, nearly died, and suffered tremendously. However, that experience is also why I am so grateful and filled with gratitude for my life every day.

At one side you don't bring life, as life is miserable and blah blah. But another side you want to live a carefree, double income luxurious life?? Isn't life miserable contradicts here.. reminder to your philosophy.
If life has struggle & misery then why to marry even; take a cloth & move to pilgrims for blissful & no responsibility life.
Actually if bringing a life in this world is crime then Dinks can adopt & give a suitable life to already existential beings.
But they will not, because taking responsibility is what they are running away behind all these big claims.

Of course we are not going to adopt. Please think a moment about the meaning and etymology of the word "childfree". Compare it with "lead-free", or "sugar-free".
"Childfree" doesn't refer to a person or persons who never gave birth. It refers to a person or persons who are uncontaminated by the presence of children in their life, just as a sugar-free soda is uncontaminated by sugar or a lead-free pipe is uncontaminated by lead.

Mostly, everyone loves children but many couples don't want to take the responsibility of bringing up life. It's perfectly fine - To each its own. But please don't say bringing life is a misery. Life is an experience and it should be lived to the fullest whether good or bad.
From narrators perspective, I can easily make out that he wants to live his life as a childfree couple, that's absolutely his choice, but don't try to dissuade other people by bringing spirituality and false logic to counter his claims.
Just, simply accept this truth that you are not willing to take care of the responsibilities of a child and move on that's it...
