I think I realised that I'm finally an adult watching and enjoying every seconds of a 36 minutes review about ergonomic chairs. Or are we just weirdos? Anyway, super happy that RUclips's algorithm made me find your channel few months ago. Keep going!
Had an M9, returned it. Chair build/quality of materials is not worth $1000. The back and armrests were super wobbly even after tightening the screws countless times. The memory foam felt like it bottomed out. However, customer service was excellent and they waived the return fee. Went to DWR and tested an Embody and Aeron. Ordered the Aeron same day. The difference in quality is crazy, and I also believe any chair at that $1000 price point should come preassembled.
This review pretty much covered all the things I've noticed about my Mavix re: build quality. The wheel locks are almost cartoonishly strong, headrest being in an odd position for shorter people, and the arm wobbles suck. For the price point, I'm glad I opted for the M7 over the M9. The customer service is quite good, though, and I was able to get a shorter stem when I ordered the chair. Love the footrest, too

Been watching your reviews to find the right chair for me. Went with the M9 before seeing this and I gotta agree, the chair just feels cheap for it being $1000. It was delivered unsealed, with a few holes in the box, looked like it had been tossed around a bunch. Definitely not the best first impression. Had it for a few weeks now, and I just don't feel like it will last more than a couple years. Originally I saw 12 year warranty and thought oh wow, thats amazing! But then I saw another video showing all of the small print, and it doesnt cover a whole lot, and you have to pay for shipping after 1 or 2 years I believe. I'll be returning the chair and probably going with a herman miller. Sorry for the essay, love your channel and reviews!

Excellent video! Very comprehensive and well thought. Also good to see a review from a shorter person because reviews for 6’ tall men are not relevant to me 😅 keep it up!
I'm not even interested in either of these chairs but I watched the whole thing anyway because I liked your videos. The warranty for these are shady af, and at $1000 it's a complete ripoff imo. I just ordered a fully loaded Embody with Dark Mineral Sync fabric and white/titanium frame at an authorized dealer and only paid a couple hundred more than the M9, these should cost no more than $500.
$1000 and you're creeping into the high-end name brand territory of Herman Miller. I mean, wtf. If you have $1000 to blow on a chair, this will never be on your short list.
Exactly. Linus Tech Tips hyped this chair up on one of their channels and I got one and returned it a couple days later. I only weigh about 230lbs and if I leaned back in the chair it would randomly pop pop pop until I was fully reclined when it supposed to be locked. This happened about once every 20 minutes. Of course I returned it but they charged about a $200 fee to return.
Also by the way, having the back notch up sucks because every time you get it or move in the chair it goes up a notch and then falls down to the lowest setting.
This is chair is 100% overpriced, but unlike SecretCrap it's actually not a stupid Ctrl C + Ctrl V racing chair design. At least Mavix are intelligent enough to have a completely different type of design that actually looks rather appealing.
@@Ahnestly M5 was the Ultimate Computer designed to take over a starship. I probably wouldn't have known myself if I hadn't binged Star Trek over the lockdown.
I tried these out, at the very least the M5 and M7, in a localish furniture dealer. They were okay. Found the seats too small for the mesh ones when it came to sitting down in the mesh and being so close to the plastic frame. I can see the mesh stretching out and bottoming out on the frame. Not great and for that much money??? No thanks.
I don’t know why they decided they can charge in the ball park of Aeron and have quality or credentials nowhere near it. I know gamers pay premium but come on this should be 2/3 times cheaper for what it offers.
@@TonyFrancis I own one as well and I’d agree with you it’s not meant for long sit sessions in my opinion so if you sit 8 +hours a day on it it’s not the chair to get. But that being said I do enjoy the firmness but not as much as I thought I would.
This channel is dangerous for my wallet! I started off thinking I should spend about 250, then I started mulling over a used Aeron (around 500 everywhere I look used around me). Then I found out that if you want to cross your legs etc, the Aeron "2" is better... ooops, now the budget is suddenly gonna have to be about $750-800 shipped. Then I see this chair and it looks amazing... of course, even harder to find used so including shipping you will be hard pressed to get it down to $1K.... argh..... #Firstworldproblems
No one gives honest reviews of gaming chairs. They're all paid by these companies to give good reviews. They always get free stuff and they always have affiliate links.
Not impressed w/ the M9. Looks cheap. Looks overpriced. Their website looks like a middle schooler built it and looks broken and missing some webcode. The lack of information regarding the materials is concerning considering in the modern era many companies are going out of their way to disclose this type of basic product information - either to be eco-friendly or to point out in case a customer might or might not have allergies to something like fake/plastic leather (or what type of plastics were used). The fact that customer service either takes forever to respond or never responds. The fact that on their website people are complaining about crap customer service and the resolution requires regular comment posting before someone bothers to address or remedy a complaint. Instead of their customer service doing their f*cking job the first time around.
It's kind of funny that Ahn points out the adjustable back height feature. Many office chairs 10-20+ years ago used to have adjustable backs before this modern cookie-cutter era. IT wasn't necessarily a standard feature at the time; but it was common on many chairs.
Hey! If you watch the video, you see that I critiqued both chairs…a LOT! I don’t let the fact that I’m an affiliate get in the way of an objective review. If you want to donate to the channel so i can review chairs without being an affiliate, that would be awesome!

Yes. This.
Just after I bought My chair i found these videos thanks RUclips algorithm
This is chair is 100% overpriced, but unlike SecretCrap it's actually not a stupid Ctrl C + Ctrl V racing chair design. At least Mavix are intelligent enough to have a completely different type of design that actually looks rather appealing.
that footrest, is ridiculously expensive, i have one similar, and i paid dirty cheap
That looks like an ikea footrest with foam.
any chairs at around the $150 range?
I'm checking out the staples hyken but I have a ton of videos I have to get to first.
can you do mavix g9 vs herman miller
Did you watch the review? There’s no contest haha
Sure,
I’ll put a mortgage payment on a chair. 😆
ngl that footrest looks identical to the one from ikea that costs a fraction of the price
Did you say “a little bit more 💰 ???
If I bought a Mavix chair I'd have to get the M5 because, you know, I'm a Star Trek fan.
I'm not a trekkie, unfortunately, so the joke is lost on me!
@@Ahnestly M5 was the Ultimate Computer designed to take over a starship. I probably wouldn't have known myself if I hadn't binged Star Trek over the lockdown.
Nice!!
Rather buy a HM or Steel Case
I tried these out, at the very least the M5 and M7, in a localish furniture dealer. They were okay. Found the seats too small for the mesh ones when it came to sitting down in the mesh and being so close to the plastic frame. I can see the mesh stretching out and bottoming out on the frame. Not great and for that much money??? No thanks.
I don’t know why they decided they can charge in the ball park of Aeron and have quality or credentials nowhere near it. I know gamers pay premium but come on this should be 2/3 times cheaper for what it offers.
The 2 chair brands are owned by the same company
Yes
There both owned by future chair
Nice
Would rather have a secret lab wbu?
As an owner of a SL chair, I have to say it’s okay but not great.
@@TonyFrancis I own one as well and I’d agree with you it’s not meant for long sit sessions in my opinion so if you sit 8 +hours a day on it it’s not the chair to get. But that being said I do enjoy the firmness but not as much as I thought I would.
Dam yo.. Does that "Legendary" chair come with a concubine for that price?
Lol
They're the same company
Leg Shaking is most likely a sign of Iron deficiency my dude.
Dude. I eat steak like it's my job. Lol jk but I do eat quite a bit of iron
Lmao foot rest cap
Noway subie broooo #YOHB
I think that brand got mistaken by 900$ difference
$1000 for a chinese ctrl+v chair? Not sure what they're thinking................
Seems like the general consensus is all these adjustable headrest are all awful.
How tf is this 30 minutes looool
Seriously. This Ahnestly dude needs to shut up.
Their returns and warranty policy sounds so scammy that's enough to put me off this chair.
1000 dollars chair ? wtf... fuck this world man..
Hey keep your head up! One day, you're gonna be like, "oh, it's only $1,000? I'll take all of em" Hang in there!
@@Ahnestly haha From your lips to God's ears cheers
No one gives honest reviews of gaming chairs. They're all paid by these companies to give good reviews. They always get free stuff and they always have affiliate links.
I said these chairs were trash, so…
@@Ahnestly Hey man, from the review vid itself, it seems you said the M7 wasn't a bad chair, are they trash? Do you have a favorite chair?
5’6 and 5’7 is average height for males.
Don’t think that’s true. At least not for usa
IT wasn't necessarily a standard feature at the time; but it was common on many chairs.
interesting! I only sat in pleather cookie cutter office chairs growing up! Yeah the M9 is a waste of $$
Mavix didn’t pay me but use my code
Hey! If you watch the video, you see that I critiqued both chairs…a LOT! I don’t let the fact that I’m an affiliate get in the way of an objective review. If you want to donate to the channel so i can review chairs without being an affiliate, that would be awesome!
