G'day mates, ResMed devices have a 'design life' of 5 years. Soon after, you will receive a lovely message on your cpap screen informing you that it has expired. You have 3 options.
No.1 The cpap should continue to operate as normal and might run for many years if it's been well looked after. The motors do start to build up dust and get noisy and they are normally on their last legs after 7 years.
No.2 You can send your device in for repairs at ResMed. I was quoted $900 for a motor replacement here in Australia.
No.3 You can buy a new cpap.
No.4 You can replace the motor with an aftermarket motor of the exact specifications.

    Just 2 notes.
    1. There is a port on the right side behind the dail that needs to be aligned in place.
    2. How did you get rid of the message once you put in the new motor?

I've spent hours trying to find a replacement part supplier for resmed machines. I have a working unit but I want a backup motor as that's the most likely part to go bad. I assume you managed to track down the units from an electronics supplier who carries or directly manufactures them?

Great video Nick! I can’t find the aftermarket motor. Can you point me to where I can find it? My 10 has recently gotten very loud and would love to replace the motor verse buy a new machine. Thanks
