My son once told me "Mom I'm going to play this at your funeral"! I've been sober 8 years now!
Amen and congratulations!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👌
Thank you, son!!!!!
Angel Cullen you just brought a tear to my eye. I’m clean 30 years but lost a brother to this insidious disease 4 years ago and it still hurts. Keep up the tough job of staying straight. All the best.
Amen
For those of us who were around when this song first came out, we have been blessed with a song that is forever imprinted in our minds. Thank you Pink Floyd for such a timeless classic.
This is one of my favorite songs every time I hear it I'm reminded of my son who passed away at age nineteen. I miss you so bad nate and I wish you were here.
wow men really?
Sorry for your loss, I haven't undergone much of it, and even then, this song makes me feel pain, in the most beautiful way.
He is, Michael, he is.
They always have our back.
Merely a dimension we can't access.
Nor can they access ours.
...
Same my son was 18
I am so sorry for your loss Michael. I can only imagine the pain you must feel. I see your post was one year ago. There is light at the end of the tunnel and someday you will be with him again. You must live your life for him.
Sat on a hesco at sunset in Afghanistan playing this on my guitar the day some good friends were taken from their mortal coil by an ied. I finished and wiped a tear from my eye and turned around and saw a large group of my brothers and sisters just standing there with tears in their eyes.
This song will always hold a special place in my heart and I have never played it again. Its been 16 years now
❤
As an ex serviceman I feel and understand .....
The bond you guys forge through the blood and tears has always been a thing of beauty and respect . I envy that .. envy is the wrong word ... I wished it was something I could experience for myself. You will always have my respect admiration and support ❤
Thank you very much for your service!! IT IS APPRECIATED MY FREIND!
hand on you shoulder....Semper Fi from SA Tx
everybody wishes someone was there
let's go!
amen i wish my mom was here
damn, lost my dog about a month ago, this is very true...
so true...amen
Or here,!
My dad loved Pink Floyd and he would've loved this. He passed in 2010 from Cancer
My father was my hero, he died 4 years ago. I still miss him, I try to be a better man every day. I am 54 years old. Life is joyous, but it is hard also. This song always reminds me of him. LOVE THIS SONG.
I LOVE YOU, DAD💯❤
I don't think that guitarist gets enough credit, huge props to him, he's awesome!
Can’t agree more. Spot on, a great guitar player.
Dude killed it. Gilmore is not an act to follow on a guitar in any song.
Why am I crying at this? Just reading the comments this song has hit so many memories for folks.
I know, my floodgates are wide open. Must be something in the water. lol
Because its a song that gets into your soul
That was a sorry War that Administration wasted our friends
& relatives on. U know the one Jane went out to visit & do a photo shot on
the enemy’s tank.
Amazing. Tears rolling.
me too
I wish my wife was here, she left us 1299 days ago.
I've got one you could have!
@@pup1008 that is absolutely not funny. Denigrating the memory of his wife. What an idiot you are. I've been separated for nine years I wish I had my wife back STFU
I feel you sorrow
So sorry, I hope things are easier for you now. Please ignore the snarky comments; perhaps they've never lost *everything*, I have and understand. Peace & Happiness to you...
she is with you right now.
Whenever I hear this song I start crying for my mother who died of Alzheimers on November 13 2003
I too, lost my dad to that horrible disease, and this song brings me back. My condolences.
@@bizzirker condolences to you too
This song reminds me of my mom died September 8th, 2007 from complications of dementia. May your Mom Rest in paradise, and her memory be a blessing to you always. God bless.
@@jeffmunoz3285 thank you. May your mom's name be one too.
Its a special song me a life long friend from school days .Were learning the song ,Next day his mother phoned me ,He had committed suicide he was the one person who stuck by me through illness unemployment divorce .I can only listen to the tune in private now it brings a tear to my eye,
This song was played at my brothers funeral.Miss you Tony ........
David McPate this is probably one of the saddest things to hear
Same, I lost my brother summer of 2018.
I was alone for a lot of holidays due to battling substance abuse. Coming here and singing along with this made me feel closer to those who I couldn't see right then. One day at a time, I'm climbing out of this hell to be there for real. I have some family seeing me today and I'm so grateful. I wish you were all here to share this moment with me. I feel like you're my family too now.
I'm proud of you.I love you.
How are you, everything going ok?
@@thedalz5308 Better now. I still have days, but they're fewer and far between. Family is seeing the difference and coming around. Thanks for asking, I'll take support wherever I can get it. It's a heck of a disease.
They don't need lyric sheets. This song is in all our hearts and minds
Reminds me of my parents who I miss so much every day. Love you Mom and Dad in heaven.
what a beautiful version. The demographic of the choir - all colours ages and religions sums up the message in the song perfectly. I m sure Gilmour Waters and co would enjoy this lovely version.
pretty funny watching the choir all the old rockers with their eyes closed sing from memory thinking of that Floyd concert in 77 and all the young kids and the pop music kids reading the lyrics from a paper ah yes those were the days my friends RIP Syd
i saw that, too
R.I.P. to Rick Wright also! It was a very cool singing of a Classic.
This song makes me cry every time, cry for the lass who got me into Pink Floyd when I was about 18 (I’m 51 now and she’s no longer with us 💔😢).
Now I can’t imagine a life without their music. So this song will always take me back to that time.
Choirs are amazing. It becomes so much more personal, this is amazing
Loss is inevitable, what I see here is people coming together and giving a tribute to the lost loved ones. We wish you were here❤️
Awesome to see all those people singing beautifully together, great arrangement, kudos . The voices expressed the pain, the longing, the sadness, of it all. Such a dark song. I'm in tears.
"We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl" for some reason this line gets me every time and then ofcourse the "Wish you were here". One of my all time favorites. What an absolutely wonderful song and the guitar, truly amazing. Pink Floyd rocks even now. Thank you Pink Floyd, so very much. Wish you were still here, belting out such absolutely awesome songs. Miss you guys.❤❤
Funny how the world moves on,forty years ago I would be listening to this through a drug and alcohol induced haze,it was that sort of music. Now here I am listening to it being sung by a choir. Twentieth century rock has come of age and is being seen alongside the classical masters of previous centuries.
Pink Floyd is now symphonic music as seen here on yt on various videos of symphonic orchestras playing their music. Their music will be with us for eternity.
There's a RUclips video out there with the Led Zeppelin Stairway to Heaven rendition with a beautiful Orchestra I recommend that if you can find it old fashioned music with the new sound I'm 67 years old and I love it happy trails
Just think in another 30 years the choir might be singing Kanye West songs....NOT.
Absolute truth, I lived it as well being 18 years old in 1978, I know exactly what you mean.
Same2
This incredible song affects so many people in so many ways. An absolute masterpiece. 🙏❤️🙏
This song, always brings back that magic summer of 1976, when the love of my life left to study in another city. We used to listen to the LP on cassette at her house. She ended up marrying some other guy there. I think I still love you, Jean.
reminds me of my father - still miss u dad
Me too. I was there singing this in the front row exactly a month before my dad died. My brother sang it to him as an xmas present... Sorry to hear about your dad... ox C
I played and sang this at my dad's funeral 2 years ago. Miss him everyday
Me Three love you both 💔💔
Shine on you crazy 💎💎 in that great fish bowl in the 🌫
I had the same thing on my mind man.I had a great father,a good man.
This is beautiful. My son passed away last January. I cry whenever I hear this song now.
So sorry for your lost. RIP 🙏
@@anditos.88 Thank you.
When I retired, a member of my crew made a slide show of pictures of me at work with this song playing. Means a lot to me. She also knew I was a Pink Floyd fan
@big dog I appreciate that Big Dog, Thank you
The simple lyric wish you were here, touches us all I think, a universal plea from the soul...
How can young men created such this great song beyond all line & kind of people/human ?????
Miss u mom
Dad I miss you.... September 15, 2020.... CANCER
Con't your journey in Heaven!
Now that was uplifting - Syd Barret would have really loved this....
Perhaps, but Syd was a part of this recording. Sad
@@barbaraconklin4976 Don’t think he was syd had already left the band . He showed up first time Roger waters had seen him in years when Floyd was recording Darkside of the moon.
Sid was there when they were singing this song in the studio
This is so beautiful. It never fails to make me cry as I think of my two beautiful daughters who were taken from me to live in another country by my ex wife.
When music was an art
Those first notes just open my heart every time! Love it
My all-time favorite song! I couldn't possibly love this more. 💖
Made me cry what a beautiful song!!
This is gold!
Good people singing together, heaven in a pub!
This is a gorgeous rendition. It gives me chills: in a *good* way! (Proud Canadian here.)
Such an amazing rendition of a bitter sweet song.
A reason why i love music
I miss my best friend of fifty years. We sang this song in his room and my garage for decades. He sent this to me during my service overseas through several wars. He died alone in his truck, and I will always be waiting for his next phone call. Hug the ones you love, call those far way, because someday they won't be there.
I would recommend them doing a tour playing some famous cathedrals all around the world.
I believe they are(Carnegie Hall etc.~ Choir Choir Choir FB or Google should give more info). 😏
Only if they did all Death Metal
THAT'S AN AWESOME IDEA!!!
@@claudetoth5633 Can they come to the US West Coast after COVID????
I second that!
Miss those days of get-together instead of social distancing. Great performance.
this song always make me remember of my friends who past away too early. Rest in Peace to all my friends. this song is for you all & i always love you all
Wow. Love adding the layers to this. Hauntingly beautiful
Simply brilliant. What a lovely rendition - hats off to everyone involved 😎👍
Any version, cover, arrangement of this song is beautiful, because this song is a real Masterwork.
beautiful
Beautiful people.
Beautiful song.
I wish I was there, to hear, "I Wish You Were Here". That was a beautiful rendition.
#drake Santiago,but you're not here you're there!
Wonderful Song and great performance. Thanks for sharing!
I just died and went to heaven!
A song for humanity. Sung by a community shows the raw power of the human voice., with that every person can contribute. I long for love. 🐨🌹
Thank you for providing some light in this world.
So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from hell
Blue skies from pain
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
Did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
Did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here
We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl
Year after year
Running over the same old ground
And how we found
The same old fears
Wish you were here
Thank you ♡
thank you
*bump*
The brilliance of Roger Waters.
Ty
I use this as a warm up practice song for 12 string guitar and I have never heard a soulful version as this, David Gilmour would be proud :-)
The best chill song ever!!!
I hope they play it at my funeral, and those in attendance are high as hell.
How good is this...brilliant
“Wish you were here “.
That sums up this song. 😁❤️
I am going to sing this song with a choir like this at my father’s grave 😭 I miss him so much
Music will save the world
This song is so deep in my brain ...
Thank you so much !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jürgen
How amazing is this and how amazing was this song. Thanks David Gilmour for this beauty.
This was played at my grandpa's funeral. He was such a kind, funny and just wonderful person. I wish you were here❤
True love is found in music. (Wiping tears).
That was really lovely to listen to. Very talented group!
THIS is AWSOME!!!!!
I just wanna agree with those who had praise for the guitarist........he is excellent !
I wish my wife Christine was still here miss her so much died of cancer 2019

Nice, Vera.
Love how old people, memorize it from the heat and don't bother looking at the lyrics sheet.
Marwan Nabil they usually have a projector up front with the lyrics on the screen, but yes I agree when u said heart ! Soon as song starts I know lyrics bye heart
Old people hahahaha class
The "old people", as you call them, have probably been listening to Pink Floyd for longer than you've been alive...
Old people? Are you old enough to shave? 😂
Most of us old people, as you call us, grew up in a time when this song was brand new, it has been around since long before you were born, so yes we don't have to look at a piece of paper to know the words cuz we already know them, unlike your generation where if it's not on a phone or computer you don't know what the words are.
My brother was the musician in the family. You need it he could play it (except maybe for brass but only because he didn't have time to get around to it. He was my guru. The only thing he didn't do was sing. Singing was my thing. Then a year ago Covid killed hin.
I I can ever play and sing this sine without weeping I will know my healing journey is progressing. I'm not there yet
Thos is just beautiful.
My wife's name and pic. The song has a special place in my heart, made me tear up, wasn't expecting that. I thought you all were great. So many different faces singing one great song. Big Floyd fan. Thanks you all. Mark
I have no words other then...amazing job on an amazing song.
Congratulations, people. You work is simple yet superb. And is this simplicity made of "perfectly tuned" human voices, what catches our emotional side by surprise.
nothing better than voices lifted in somg!
as I said...a smile and a tear....live them
yes...a common response
I mean " love them....."
important: they are all good singers, the have been through an audition and were selected to be part of the gang. Its not only gather a bunch of people to build a Choir! Choir! Choir!
every single person in that choir who you notice not looking at a lyric sheet is singing this for someone they lost.
Amazing
Wish I were there instead of here! Music helps me reset my mind
Reduced to tears right there at barely 1:45 minutes in. My song for my father.
A song from my younger years. I love the guy with gray hair and checked shirt at 2 o'clock from the conductor who doesn't consult written lyrics. True Floyd fan.
This sounds so beautiful it made me cry
I love pink floyd songs and I love choir. It's so fantastic. I really liked it. Thank you guys.
A loss for words...amazing.
My favourite Pink Floyd song, Comfortably Numb a close second. I sang this at my dearly loved dog's service recently. I loved this version by C!C!C! Also loved the slow and gentle ending to fade out. Well done all.
Chills down my spine. Phenomenally good.
Love this Account so much!
The guitarist 🎸 plays this Pink Floyd / David Gilmour
* Wish You Were Here * - Perfectly 🫶.
I think this perfectly captures the spirit PF were going for. They lost their band mate Syd and wished he was there. Through music we can all be a little closer and help each other out through hard times. This song is an amazing example of what can happen when people put their differences aside and join in something great.
gave me the chills...haven't ever hear a choir sing it...powerful
How I wish you were here ☺🌷🌹❤🌻
I hopr Choirs never go out of fashion, that was brilliant!
Possibly the best song ever made!
It’s amazing how sparkling the human voice can be ,how uplifting and the warmth and the passion just gets to you ,wonderfully presented and thanks for uploading
Best rendition ever made...incredible talent..do it again. THANK YOU ALL
I loved the song as a teenaged budding drunk, but I didn't connect to it as deeply until 15 years later in sobriety and I realized how many people I miss because I let my disease drive them out of my life.
MY #1 FAV PINK FLOYD SONG FOR THE "OBVIOUS" REASON!!!! BEAUTIFULLY DONE!!!! GLAD YOR ALL ENJOYIN DOIN THESE "OLD" BUT GREAT SONGS!!!! STILL TOO "TOUGH" TO SHED A TEAR RIGHT NOW THOUGH!!!! * KAWAA *
The ultimate acoustic rock anthem... wish I were there. Gorgeous arrangement. There's simply no way to play this song wrong. Melody, lyrics and a message in perfect harmony
