- In today's devlog, we're taking a look at a new boss that we have added to Billy's Nightmare!

Billy's Nightmare is a fast paced roguelike game set in the nightmares of the pyjamas wearing boy Billy. @@rajaisgreen7663 The third boss is already finished and will be shown in a future devlog, but it won't be a doll. A doll enemy could perhaps be possible. What kind of attacks would the doll have?
I love the new boss! It looks good and fun to play against, i have an idea for an attack(maybe not for the jester) a shot that divides into multiple other shots like a firework

I love how at the start of the boss fight the people get brutally killed and Thier bloody remains are scattered across the room!

This is just an idea, but it would be cool when the boss goes down in the box and jumps that it jumps on to the player, so that the boss feels more alive. But it looks super cool

I think your hard work definitely paid off here. He seems to be the aesthetically most appealing boss to me. I also think that the difficulty is spot on for a first level boss. Im glad you are back with more devlogs. All this progress makes me really hyped for the final release.

I love the new boss a thing you could add is when he jumps out of the box he spawns a circle of bullets around him to make it a bit harder

I think it would be cool if you made a leprechaun ally who would give you buffs like health or damage.

I would really like if instead of a projectile shaped like a star, it could be a star shape skirting the room that moves inwards after some time, maybe even using his moon attacks at the same time

Really cool boss! It doesn't seem like there are very many stationary fights in the game so far so I think this boss will stand out from the rest quite a bit. The unique bullet shapes will help with that as well.

Maybe you could make an attack where the Jester moves into his box making him invulnerable, and then spawning some enemies around him. I think this could spice up the attack system of the game a little!

the new boss is epic! maybe another attack could be he hops towards you in his box and tries to crush you. I think that would make the fight a bit more interesting as he currently only has projectile attacks.

For the boss maybe make is so when he jumps up and down he jumps around the room to give him some more variety instead of just keep repeating the attacks. There is probably a strategy that you could repeat to cheese the boss, so moving around might get rid of that.

I think you should add a new type of enemy much different from the rest of yours (I’m thinking like a teleporting enemy) for example: this enemy has low health but when it takes damage, it teleports to a different area new by where it has line of sight with the player and will shoot. I think this type of enemy would really change the dynamic of combat and would change the players priority. I think the A.i should be similar to the Skelton mages in terraria. Or instead of a teleporting enemy, you can have an enemy go “invisible “ (lower the image alpha so it’s a little harder to see) and then become fully visible when it’s ready to shoot, this could be a cool elusive enemy that the player has to watch out for and be careful around. I love this game project and it has really inspired a lot of my own indie games, keep up the good work.

I already have a room and boss in my head by the inspiration, imagine there was a room with animals, like rodents and insects, like that if Billy didn't like small rodents and insects, and the Boss was a Rat King
like the one in Hilda on Netflix, which is made up of other rats, I love imagination

Might be cool if the bosses had some non-bullet attacks. Like jumps around the scene to smash the player, or throws spinning weapons, etc.

Great video , a suggestion from me is probably to make the jester regenerate his hp every time he go inside the box the player than have to spin lever by attacking them

I think that there should be some consequences when one player die. For now, after the boss he is back at a full health, without any consequences. Also I think that new boss fight is awsome. The bullets in new shapes really adds tp it
Thanks for the feedback! Both players will actually get full health after a boss fight, but I will talk more about that in the next video.
What about a train boss or enemy who spawn circle from the funnel. Also what about a cashier table boss. Maybe billy got his finger stuck. It would charge forwardjump down and release coins and have a charge signaled by The money storage opening. Also maybe a boss themed after a singer. He would summon a star around him throw stars at you and shout loud noises at you. Then maybe a painter who flings shapes and drawings at you. These could all be bosses representing different levels of the game which you fight. Then after you beat them you are in your room with you mom but it turns out it’s the boogeyman who you have to fight

I think u should add a jester/clown skin for billy the ability would be a horn that knocks back enemies and the gun would be a boxing glove gun I think this is a good idea cuz billy hasn’t gotten a new skin in ages

The next boss could be a dinosuor with a boyon on the back that makes it roar, those strange plastik dinos that dont look like dinos

i just thought of a new type of enemy in the toy level which is basically a toy train the acts like a snake and moves pretty fast

Hey, last time i checked the game it was i think a year ago and i really like the concept, and now im seeing this game again. But i just realized that this game misses some roguelike elements that i love the most- The chests and new items you get each every stage! Could you guys add some chests that includes new weapons or new passive abilities just for one run? i mean i played the binding of isaac and the games concept is pretty close to it and also i didn't really checked the game out soo i dont really know whats in the game but i'll check it out! also are you guys thinking about adding this game to steam? because with those constantly updates i think lots of people will love to play this.
Hey! Instead of chests, you can find the Easter Bunny who will give you an egg with a free ability. You also get a free ability after the boss fights and we also have a shop. And yes, our plan is to add the game to Steam.

The game has both local and online Co-Op, but it won't have PvP.

@@JonasBroman Spoilers. I now know how the first final poss dies which you said in an earlier video this first stage will be the best.
I've noticed most DEVLOGS on other channels that are succesfull is around 12 minutes long. I think if you want the RUclips algorithm to pick up your videos more you will have to make a bit longer vids. Just an idea!
I don't have that much to talk about for 12 minutes, so I try to make the videos shorter and more interesting instead. But thanks for the idea though!

Hey, I played the demo and I realized that I cant change the controls so i can do actions with the side mouse buttons
Yeah, Game Maker is pretty weird when it comes to changing controls. It only works with the left and right mouse button and the scroll wheel.
