I personally prefer silicone sealer then a rubber gasket, because 90-95% is in the crank case then the oil pan. Oil pan can only hold about 0.5 to 1 quart .
I used the fel-pro on my oil pan but it was seeping past. I ended up redoing it with rtv. But I could’ve used the gasket with a Permatex no 2 gasket sealer and kept it. Just didn’t think it would need it.
