I had numerous requests to review Fifine microphones, specifically the K670 USB Condenser microphone - and it sounds pretty good, but the driver issues make it a tough one to recommend, honestly.

Thank you for this review, and also mentioning your dynamic mic recommendation!
I really appreciate your vids! I’ve been watching for at least a year, and just want to say thank you for your candor, and how thorough you are in your vids!
Keep up the fantastic and very useful videos!
Thanks for the kind words and for watching :)
I checked out the cheaper little brother the K669B which go for around $30, and pretty surprised with how that one sounded for a cheap USB mic too. I now recommend it over the snowball for anyone looking into something basic to get started with. No driver issues, it just worked.
:o recommend over Blue Snowball Ice?
Wow, that takes some courage, m8 :)
@@airbornesnow4541 not really. I'm just recommending the better mic.
@@airbornesnow4541 He is right - I have both and the fifine is much better MIC.
@@socalrider909 dude it's been 2 YEARS
yep, been 1 year and the blue snowball is pretty garbage nowadays lol
I compared this microphone to a few others in my review. I have never had any driver issues but thanks for bringing that to light. I do really like this microphone especially compared to other USB microphones, and even better than my AT2020 routed through my scarlet solo. Awesome video!
I actually use one of FiFInes Dynamic Mic's for my streaming/recording setup I was impressed with it personally, and started using it over my Behringer XM2500. for a lesser known company they seem to have some decent hardware for the price.
Finally!!!!! Was looking for a more in-depth review of this mic after LTT's video on cheap mics
P.S. while wrighting this I became not sure if this was the fifine k669 mic Linus talked about.
EDIT: it's not xD
Shoutout to your cat in the background.
I got this microphone, I was not aware of the problem that you discussed about the driver. I personally never came across that situation as of yet.
If you read Fifine's comment you see it is only some models effected
What do you think about it a year later?
@@KombatKastle It's simple but working fine for my use case. In general discord use or communicating in games like Dota 2, I've gotten compliments on the clarity.
You can listen to some of my recent Ori playthrough for voice quality.
@@KombatKastle There's not much worry about the durability, one of our customers use an older model of K056 for even 5 years.

Can you please tell me what camera setup that you are using, it looks really good!!!!
I never had driver problems with this mic, just plug and play, amazing for the price.
How is it after 5 years
I don’t use it anymore but my daughter does all the time when she is playing video games on her gaming computer, still works fine to me.

I have the same microphone! Just a quick question, is there a way to turn off the blue light it emits?

Hi, What Camera did you use to record this video. it looks amazing!. It has vibrant color.
He uses the Sony alpha a6400 btw
At what point will USB/digital become as good if not better than XLR? if digital cameras can reach the threshold of film then audio will eventually right?
If you wanted to, you could make one right now, it's not a technological limitation. There's merely no point making a high-quality USB audio interface and then putting it into the microphone body, you'll make more money if you sell them as separate items.
And from my point of view as electrical engineer, there really isn't more than a couple cheap components spared by integration. It just makes no sense. There's a fundamental difference to cameras there where digital image acquisition is completely its own thing from chemical one, but with a microphone to USB, you have the same kind of signal path regardless!
Time will give you answer.
The only benefit of XLR is reducing noise by cancelling out electrical interference in the cable ("balanced"). Assuming no interference, there is should be no difference between an XLR and 3.5mm or phono jack mic. A USB mic contains a pre-amp between it and the computer. An XLR mic must first go through a pre-amp and then have that signal digitized for USB. Therefore, I'm sure there are pre-amps in USB microphones that are better than pre-amps in XLR mixers/interfaces. The biggest problem with USB mics is you can't put anything between the pre-amp and the analog to digital converter, like a compressor or limiter. You can use them with the digital signal, but that's not as good as having the analog signal to work with. So to answer your question, USB is as good as XLR/whatever if you can get a clean/optimized signal from the mic without noise or clipping. If you get noise, you may be able to clean it up better with a better pre-amp BEFORE digitization.
Some other tech tubers were saying its a blue yeti killer or something like that
Any advice with this one in terms of beat boxing? Or dynamic versus condensor mics in that regard?
Hi Aaron, you can check out the beat boxing video below to hear if the sound meets your need. Choose a dynamic or condenser mic in your case will mainly depend on the quietness of your use environment.

Hi which boom arm did you use with this mic? I have the same but can't find an arm that works with it
Hi there. No matter what the arm stand other people are using. The boom arm stand coming with the 3/8'' to 5/8'' adapter will be suitable for the K670. And you can easily search for it on Amazon with the keyword "boom arm stand".
For me, I have not had the driver issue. But then again I don’t plug and unplug the mic often. Going from a busted razer siren to this mic. Aside from the obvious additions the razer siren has, I found next to no difference in quality.
Just is minor upgrade.
I'm looking at you NW-700 XLR microphone
What's you're boom arm?
What settings did you use on the mic to get the best quality out of it?
Hi there, though the gain setting is one of the most crucial factors that makes a mic sound different. But the other factors cannot be neglected if you want to have the best sound quality.
Specific to K670, it's better to have dial at around 60% while computer input at about 80%. But it's not set in stone, you had better to click open any recording software that has voice meter, to have volume not going over -12 dB while you speak to the mic.
Next it's about the speaking range, keep the mic 3-5 inches away from mouth, the closer the better. If there's an arm stand available, you should be able to easily keep the mic in a close range. Then your voice will appear more engaged in front of the mic, that means it will pick up less bouncing around sound. You will find the sound quality is up for another league.
Overall the best method to have great sound quality is to setup the use environment (if the mic is not defective). And the treated room can be done with ease, and here's our blog for your reference: fifinemicrophone.com/blogs/news/how-to-make-an-acoustic-treatment-on-a-budget
FIFINE MICROPHONE so i game on my pc with my mic and talk to my friends through it using the headphone jack, but i can slightly hear my voice echo. Is there any way to fix this?
hi your mic sounds theres no b buzzing noise how do you do that there's no enhancement tab in my mic I just recently bought it
If you still get the static when you set the volume dial to 0, I think there's not the problem of microphone. Please try testing the mic on a laptop without charging cord plugged in to see if it's the grounding issue. If laptop is not available, could you bother to have your PC powered by another wall outlet? Next, to eliminate the possibility of a broken USB, just test with another one.
Then, set the mic dial at 70%, computer at 80% and the best speaking distance ranges from 3 inches to 5 inches. At last, test the mic with different positions on your desk to see if the static is still there.
Will this be a good mic for regular podcasting and voice overs?
Yes, it's plug and play on PC, Mac and PS4. Besides gaming and streaming, it's also suitable for basic recording, like voice-over, podcast or song. You can check out some other RUclips videos for its recording performance.
whats the boomarm?
I am buying the Fifine 669B. For live guitar and vocals it sounds more than "alright." It sounded better than every other mic on our Zoom open Mic including many more expensive mics. I bought a Yeti which was 3x the price and sounds nowhere as good.
Really really really interested in getting this but none of my friends have ever heard of fifine so they are skeptical about it. They tell me to get a different mic, but I just can’t make my mind up. Really wanna get this one though. Just gonna have to keep checking some reviews and make my mind up.

Hey how do you sync your cannon EOS M50 with this micphone 👍🏾
EposVox should sync the recorded audio by K670 and filmed video by camera in software in post-production. Even you can use an audio cable to connect K670 headphone jack with camera mic jack, the audio quality wouldn't be good in this way.
@@FIFINE Thanks for responding back👍🏾
@@cynthiasmith3768 You are welcome. We should say sorry for not spoting your comment earlier to make the reply. And the Premiere Pro could be one of the best software for you to do the sync.
The Fifine 669B is the same thing just cheaper. I'd recommend that, driver works fine on W10, PS4 etc.
If your going over $50, get the Yeti Mini. (If you really want a USB mic)
Beyond that, go XLR
in your opinion which mic do u think is better for rapping the 669b or the k670?
How is the latency for audio playback?
As you choose the K670 as default output and enable the monitoring feature on the computer system or software, you will get the audio without latency.

K670 or K669 ? Which one you would recommend to me ?
Um, it's not always the higher-priced one is better (only if you got enough budget and don't mind the spending). If you're going to choose between these two, it's all down to your application. The capsule of K669 is smaller, and you have to put the arm stand closer to compensate for the bass. And without the low-latency headphone jack, you may run into problem when doing podcast and you want to hear yourself in real time. The main difference about the tone is that K669 doesn't give that kind of all-round sound as K670 provides. But there won't be quite noticeable difference if your main use is gaming. And you don't need that headphone jack to hear yourself either in gaming.
Have you gotten your hands on the blue ember yet?

@@FIFINE what about for streaming?
@@milawrine3657 Um, streaming is part of gaming, K669B is suitable, but it's better to complement the mic with an arm stand, to get the mic away from noise source such as keyboard or mouse and let it closer to your mouth to have clearer and warmer sound.
@@FIFINE thanks :) ill buy the k670b as soon as i can
It is a very good microphone, but I find its sound very high pitched, you have to turn down the volume to record.
Depending on the loudness of your voice, it could be good to set the dial level at around 60%. Or it would be more precise to click open a software to have the level meter gauge to find the more suited dial setting. Keep the software meter bouncing around -16dB to -12dB, the sound quality coming out should be pretty good.
is this good if youre very loud? i scream and imj also very loud in general
Please adjust the mic dial at 70%, computer at 80% and the best speaking distance ranges from 3 inches to 5 inches. If you are speaking louder, please turn the knob dial lower.
@@FIFINE thanks

How come there is no hisss sound?
Be... cause there isn't?
It seems that you got lots of static sound. If so, first off, try testing the mic on a laptop without charging cord plugged in to see if it's the grounding issue. If laptop is not available, could you bother to have your PC powered by another wall outlet? Next, to eliminate the possibility of a broken USB, just test with another one. Is this better than the k669?
It depends on your use. If it's mainly about gaming, K669 could do the job well. When you main use is recording, K670 is more suited. Not only the relative larger capsule which makes sound more engaged (therefore a bit more bass) but also the live monitoring headphone jack. Unnoticeable latency will come in useful for making music or voice-over.
@@FIFINE Thank you.
which is better? this, or the T-669
Since you are confused , we will briefly introduce the difference between three FIFINE products, K669B, T669, K670. First off, the T669 is the update version of the K669B, cuz the T669 get the accessories to have the better sound. For vocal or instrument, K669B still do the job, though may not fit in perfectly. But there is updated model K670, which is quite suitable for that music production aspect, and you can use the K670 to monitor your voice while recordng. K670 has lower noise level and get warmer but still the same clear sound.
FIFINE MICROPHONE what do you think would be the best for just talking? i game and make videos/podcasts. thanks for the feedback
@@becca5703 The K670 cardioid pick-up pattern and the 16mm capsule (2mm larger than Snowball) make your voice more engaged, limiting background sound and focusing on your voice. No need to eat into the mic for radio podcast sound quality. Besides, it is just the USB Plug & Play microphone so you dont need to use with the interface. But if your use environment is not so quiet, and you're more concerned about the noise instead of tone, then T669 with an arm stand is also pretty good for recording or singing.

i have this on my stream fg gg / khankhal, no need to leave a follow. you can just hear the quality on obs while i game. superb mic for its price plug and play no problem
MY Fifine sounds better than my xlr mic on a mixer by a long shot. It doesn't pick up half the background noise and does it all for about what i paid for a xlr cord . Don't always think you have to pay a bunch for something that works. As for the drivers well mine has worked on 2 different pc's with no problems what so ever. But hey if your someone that puts more value in having a "pro" name on your mic than if it works just pass this one by because it's not for you.Oh yeah It also doesn't cause a ground loop problem and cause freaking audio issue's with a 2 pc stream setup.
"Don't always think you have to pay a bunch for something that works" - hence why the one I recommended was specifically based on it costing about the same price and being USB.
Nothing I recommend or mention has "pro" in the name or has anything to do with that.
And no, it can't cause a ground loop problem in a 2PC setup because you have no direct way of utilizing a USB mic in a dual PC setup in the first place, so that point is moot.
@@EposVox No where did I mention you said! The jest of my comment is you really don't need that high end gear 90% of the time.As for the no direct way of utilizing a usb mic I find that odd coming from a guy always pushing network options.

Your explanation dynamic VS condenser doesn't make a lot of sense. I mean on a practical level, yeah, that's the kind of behaviour that you can expect, but you know it's technically bollocks, right?
I mean what would happen if you mounted the dynamic capsule free standing in the middle of a thing, what do you think? OK you'd need some mighty gain, but you'd get the same kind of response to a condenser. Probably would need a bit of EQ, because the frequency sensitivity of dynamic membrane is not exactly equal across its area.
On the other hand, what if you mounted a condenser the same way a dynamic capsule is? OK you'd get murderous handling noise and you'd quickly run into pressure limits, but otherwise, it would behave remarkably similar!
And good luck that none of your hardware burned down
It's very obviously supposed to be an accessible, practical explanation.
I am not a fan
