    I bought this mic for PC gaming, after being sick and tired of the unreliability and overall poor quality of gaming headset mics. This mic is INCREDIBLE for it's price, everyone says my voice sounds amazing now over discord and they no longer here me breathing, or typing, or other background noise. Can't recommend this mic enough for it's price point.

      What type of keyboard do you have for sound reference? I feel like my keyboard is very clicky and would pick up and just annoy my buds in discord

    • @alurnima
      @alurnima 5 лет назад

      Its a little misleading. Because this is just an ordinary condenser mic which will be able to hear steps in the next room. Depends on personal Setup, Room, Preferences. My short test of it yet showed exactly what others said....cheap and solid USB Mic. The Live-Monitoring-Jack is a little (noisy) garbage though (knew that beforehand)

    • @Newmans0wn
      @Newmans0wn 5 лет назад

      I use a razor chroma mechanical. Very click. You just have to do tweaking to the gain both on your PC sound controls and the mic itself

    • @alurnima
      @alurnima 5 лет назад

      Im using slim profile Havit/Sharkoon Mech Keyboard (Blue Switches) also clicky.
      Now using a shock mount and boom-arm its more flexible than the stand coming with the K670. Gain (Volume) on it is set very low and People in Discord are very pleased now. Very good sound quality for the Price. Only the monitoring headphone jack is too noisy.

    This microphone or nw 700,800, which is better?

    • @FIFINE
      @FIFINE 5 лет назад +1

      700 and 800 have more self noise than K670 and sound quieter. In the low end, they would sound more boomy than K670. And they use interface or phantom power setup, so it takes trials and errors to get the best sound out of them. But it's completely from a seller's point of view.

      EL VERTEDERO MELGAR don’t ever buy the NW 700 or 800 worse mic ever, always get a usb mic in my opinion, I just ordered this one like an hour ago it seems so simple to setup and the sound quality is beautiful for its price.

      We are going to compare the K670 with the snowball and you can make your choice. The K670 should sound as warm as the Snowball. But the biggest size of K670 capsule makes the sound appear bigger and more engaging. Therefore the sound will also be louder when the input levels of computer for both mics are set at the same. Other features of K670 is the volume dial, headphone monitoring jack and height-adjustable stand. If budget allows, I think the best solution for the moment is to purchase them both, then you keep the one which suits you more.

    • @geraldundone
      @geraldundone  6 лет назад +1

      I don't think that would be ideal. Usually mics of this sort aren't made with handling noise in mind. Also, it's a USB connection so cabling would be an issue, and the mount isn't compatible with booming, you'd have to hack it up.

    • @FIFINE
      @FIFINE 4 года назад

      Sorry for catching sight of your comment late. It wouldn't work directly with XBox console. If you do need to use this mic with Xbox, you have to find an audio cable. Then plug one end into K670 headphone out, the other end into mic jack of Xbox controller adapter. While the USB of K670 would be plugged into computer or power bank to get power supply.

  • @timbeaton5045
    @timbeaton5045 6 лет назад

    Yep. Not bad at all. Audibly different on my iMac speakers, to your regular mic. Could hear a bit of background hum of some description, but that seemed to be present on your main mic, too, so presumably ambient noise. Sounded fine for its intended use, and at the price seems a good starter piece of kit. Not sure what's going on with the volume knob versus the system mic settings. Seems odd that there would actually be some compression built into the mike, but as i haven't tried one out, I can't say.
    But a good honest assessment, it would seem.

    • @geraldundone
      @geraldundone  6 лет назад +1

      Thanks for the comment. 😃
      I don't think that it's actually a proper compressor. I think it's some kind of peak prevention that just puts a hard limiter in rather than a smooth roll-off, so the result is very harsh compression/distortion.
      As far as the hum you hear, that one I find peculiar. There definitely was more noise with the new mic until I removed some of it in Audition, but my main mic is like -65dB for noise, so I'm surprised you hear any noise on my main mic. Now that's adaptive noise reduction mind you, so it's possible it varies during speaking parts and silent parts, but with my headphones turned up unhealthily high, I can't really hear much noise at all. I have an AC running, which is what's causing it, but it's just too damn hot to turn it off to record. But I thought I did a pretty good job of removing it.
      All that being said, I agree it's not too bad at all this little mic, even if the noise is a bit worse.

      Yes, picking up clear voice but with less background noise. Though it cant do a good keyboard sound rejection as headset microphone does. And if you are on a tight budget and having no requirement for recoding podcasting or voice-over, a FIFINE USB microphone K669B is also a option.

    Does it sound the same as the k669 model?

    • @FIFINE
      @FIFINE 5 лет назад

      No, and K670 will sound better. It has lower noise level and get warmer but still the same clear sound. Though as Gerald mentioned in the video, just pay a bit attention to the volume level. And setting dial at around 1/4" and computer input around 50% would be fine.

    • @waterfelon33
      @waterfelon33 5 лет назад

      Theoretically with some VST plugins, OBS noise gate control and proper adjustment the K669 should be just as good right?

    • @FIFINE
      @FIFINE 5 лет назад

      @@waterfelon33 Um, K669 would sound just well in normal use situation. Those plugin and nose gate are for gamers who are concerned about the keyboard striking or fan blowing noise. But they may not have great impact, because those noise is in rather similar frequency range of human voice. That's why we recommended that if you're really worried about the keyboard sound, a setup of a dynamic mic and an audio interface is better suited you.
      The main different is not about the noise reduction. For sure K670 has lower self noise so the noise level is slight better than K669. But they are still condenser mic, which is subject from less quiet environment. The different is about the tone. K669 is one of the clearest mic for sub $50 price range. K670 does the similar job, but it also give you the rich and warm sound like the Snowball does. And the other thing is about the live monitoring jack. If you mainly use the mic for gaming, I think clarity is the thing you're looking for. The warm sound or the headphone jack could not increase your gaming experience drastically. But if you also do recording sometimes, doubtlessly K670 is better choice.

    • @FIFINE
      @FIFINE 5 лет назад

      @@waterfelon33 But we're the mic seller, so what we said is basically meaningless. I think it's just better to check out a bit more RUclips video before making a purchase decision.

    • @waterfelon33
      @waterfelon33 5 лет назад

      I am not concerned about keyboard noise as I have membrane one so it isn't as loud as one of the mechanical with cherry switches. I've already watched several reviews and comparisons and from what I can tell K669 beats Snowball Ice most definitely, probably not standard Snowball as it has cardioid and omnidirect polar patterns but Ice one for sure.
      I'm not sure how live monitoring headphone jack could be useful as Windows already has a built-in option for that unless this is something different? Besides I hear there are some latency issues with it from other videos.
      Either way I've got mic stand and pop filter ready so I think K669 will be good enough for my needs which mostly consists of seperate audio recording for gameplay, a bit of noise reduction cleaning in Audacity and it should be good to go. Thanks for reply! :)
