No way am I only one that thinks the 3rd gen is really ugly and looks like a mom mom car compared to gen 2

3rd gen crv looks exactly like a sweet mom's car, 2nd gen looks more manly.

True it's probably due to the more boxy build of the 2nd gen, 3rd gen is more rounded out probably helping with aerodynamics. 2nd gen is better looking imo

1st and 2nd generation of Honda CRVs were iconic. They resembled a Jeep like vehicle with the tire in back, trunk opening like a door, and shifter by steering wheel. They ruined this look 3rd generation and onward and this vehicle longer looks any different than many other SUVs.

I have a 2004 LX (2 wheel drive). I am one of the few that is not a fan of lifting. I want my car as stable as possible and I am not an off road guy. I LOVE all the heavy black trim for both extra protection from other drivers and it gives the car a more rugged look as opposed to the more “civilized “ 3d gen look. Also, having just restored all the black trim it is FAR, FAR easier to restore the BLACK Trim than to Touch-Up Paint with those little brush paint kits. Or your other option for nicked paint is to spray an entire section.

4:15 reason for shifting grill to the top part of bumper in gen 3 is to reduce the damage to radiator fins from harsh hits of debris.

Remember when Honda refreshed the 3rd gen CR-V for the 2010-2011 year it reminded me of the 2nd Gen 2002-2004 pre-refresh from the front grille and wheels. Btw, your wife’s trim is also an EX. 🙂

Didn't know you had a 97 crv. I have a 99. My wife's 2005 lost a rear reflector. 2005-2006 is different than 02-04 thinner and way over engineered. They're almost $80 each at Honda, luckily I found one at the junkyard.

That’s what I always do. Once I had Toyota Camry that had blown 1”x1” micro fuel relay. Dealer wanted $150. Got one in the junk yard for $3👌

Hello there! You should use Autoglym Bumper and Trim gel, best product ever to restore and make uncoated plastic bumpers/mud flaps look like new on your CRV. Smells really good too.... apply with any foam pad or packaging foam. Easy and excellent results on my CRV. Relatively inexpensive product from amazon or car shops.

160 HP for the 2nd gen and 166 HP for the 3rd gen. Also the 3rd gen ditched the old 4 speed auto and cable operated throttle body for the newer 5 speed auto and electronic operated throttle body.

Ok...but people buy Honda's for what you don't see. How about doing a performance/reliability and what has changed with the mechanicals video.

I have a 2011 ex 4wd. I love the car and the reliability but I'm disappointed by the 4wd system. I wish I could lock it on and I wish all 4 tires would spin instead of 1 up front and one in the rear.

I don't think about going offroad when I see the 3rd gen CR-V. Your videos do make me want to lift my wife's 2nd gen. Waiting for the AT tires to see if you like them better. I'd lift my 99 but the trannys are weak.
