Our 2007 CRV we are the second owners. . It has 269,000 miles. The only thing that need to be replaced has been the muffler and the starter. Always passes inspection. That’s a pretty good deal.
My 2007 CR-V has 401K miles and I can't see myself getting rid of it in the near future. My friends and I call it the death trap and miracle car interchangeably.
I am seriously thinking of getting this for my son. Videos like this allow me to do make an educated decision on whether or not to buy the one we're looking at getting. At the ned of the day I guess it comes down to my own history with Honda. 3 great motorcycles I owned and 3 great cars make my decision making a whole lot easier. I'm all in for car #4!
Good informative video, however, may I offer one small sugggestion ,,,,, ditch the background music. Being a video production specialist while on active duty for the Air Force, we learned real fast, that most of the audience was tuning into the music instead of the material at hand. The others said the music was to distracting . As soon as I tuned this in , the first thing that hit me was the music ,, the rest of the info got lost and or garbled with the information being presented.
Got mine with 200K on it and give it to another owner. Its a manual and by the driving you won't feel you are driving a 200K driven car. In fact I used to have 2007 one which conditions was not good but this 200K is runs better then that. I can say if you maintain it well it won't disappoint you any time
I bought my '08 EX-L with 132k miles. I had issues with the VTEC control module and solenoid and it has run great ever since. I'm at 193k miles now! I had to replace the a/c compressor and the alternator, but I think those parts were past their useful life cycle. Also, the locks always break on these cars (there's an auto-lock feature that causes a lot of wear and tear, but you can easily turn the feature off as listed in the owners manual) and the cloth seats are more durable than the leather ones.
I just bought me a 3rd Gen because my 1st gens transmission went out. I love the car, don't get me wrong, but it has SO much less features than my 99. No full spare, no table, horrid back seat capabilities and the seats don't turn into a bed.. reliability is phenomenal and tbh, the thing is a freaking go kart. Probably use the 3rd to tow a break down camper conversion on the first gen.
UK here. Mine has the 2.2 auto diesel engine. I bought the car with 70,000 MILES on it. It now has 101,000 MILES on it. The car has been totally reliable. I am easy on my cars. I don't race around. I'm a good owner/driver for a car to have. That's not saying i poodle around. The car does now need a windshield washer pump. But apart from that it's been brilliant.
I have a 08 CR-V EXL with over 227,000 miles on it. Never do a flush on either an engine or a transmission on any vehicle. I’ve had to have the starter replaced.
You covered all of the issues i have encountered since buying brand new crv in 2010. At 15% oil life i have replaced my oil at the dealership since bought new. Now its burning oil. Even after taking excellent care of it, known issues are something that a car owner cannot avoid by regular maintenance. My crv is 181000 now on the mileage
I am sure it will survive a long life as long you keep an eye on the oil level. Perhaps the oil rings are clogged up and not moving as they should. There is a DIY method to clean up the gunk on the oil rings by pouring TRans fluid in each spark plug and let it seal all the way through he piston rings. Do an oil change, then drive the car. Should clean up the rings and potentially fix most of the oil burning.
My air compressor went early like around 120,000kms. Not a lot of other problems so far other than suspension noise in the rear. Starting to throw a catalytic converter CEL warning, mechanic says its due to exhaust leak at the flange. Time will tell. Car has nearly 200000kms now. I drive a 2011 AWD
@@timzzz9963 I read yesterday that many times the Sway Bar can be loose. I guess it’s pretty easy to just tighten yourself. Of course some said to make sure the spare and al it’s components are tight.
My 2007 just hit 300k, its so solid I got a used 2009 to swap parts back and forth on. Both still drive and shift amazing. I got the stut bar noise but honestly doesn't effect the driving.
Have a 2010 AWD EX. It's okay. Only major thing that went was the AC and these cars are known for that. Power steering whines but it's nothing more than an annoyance. Had to replace rear struts. Other than that, just your basic maintenance- brakes, tires, fluids, etc. 212,000kms. I plan to drive this car another 10+ years and 500,000kms.
A lot problems with the TPMS module unit.... Module can't save the ID learned from the sensors, so this problem it's a common failure. Five ones just in 2024!
My starter went out and it’s hell getting that starter back in place !! The shop actually put one bolt in mines causing it to break on me ! My serpentine belt was also hard to have replaced it kept jumping off when start my vehicle!! This crv is starting to be a pain in my ssa
Yep, AC compressor... It failed on mine at 80k miles. #6 orginal brake calipers could fail in the braking position? I've read that was a common problem and I've experienced it.

original owner of a 2009 CRV. 160K miles. I came here looking for fan related issues since mine has had 2 issues recently. I will say that some of these are spot on. I've had the starter issues, Lots of AC issues. 3 times i've had to replace the Relay for the compressor. , both stabilizer bars, and all shocks/struts due to them leaking hydraulic fluid. Thankfully no trans, rear end, or engine issues. Also, pretty much all the leather on the inside is trash. all seats and arm rests started wearing evenly at the same time even though we had the car for 5 years before we got kids and started using the back seat.
This vid doesn't square with the hundreds of Honda CR-V owner surveys collected by Consumer Reports. The 2007-2011 have a long track record of owner satisfaction. Don't believe me? Try finding any 3rd generation Honda CR-V for sale. And no I won't ever set foot on a used car lot.

I watched a video about why my check fuel cap keeps coming on when I start my 2011 CRV and it says it may be the selenoid? Once i push the button on the cluster panel to reset it it doesn’t come back on. Its inly got 77,000 miles cuz my mom didn’t drive it a lot when she got it in 2014 or 15. So I bought a new gas cap awhile ago like a few months back and it been going on since i got it. Its made for my car so idk why else the check fuel cap light would come on the cluster panel unless it’s a bad selenoid? My husband cleared the engine light tonight so ill see if it comes on when I start it again
I recently bought an '09 CR-V with 90k on it. Front wheel drive. Replaced the rear struts, as the ride was stiff and clunky. The clunk-clunk is slightly improved, but I still feel and hear every uneven bit of road. The suspension is very stiff. I'd love to compare the car with another CR-V to see if stiffness is general in the model, but haven't found a way to do so. I like the car, but it would be nice if it handled a washboard stretch of highway with greater aplomb.
I've got an '08 with just over 200k. Yeah the suspension is just like that. You really feel the road. Makes loud clunking sounds when going over railroads, speed bumps, etc. mechanic says it's fine

I believe the 2011 was rated 5/5 on JD Power reliability ratings. It ranked 1st in its class. I bought a silver 2011 EX-L with 150k miles in Jan. 2023. The previous owner had every Honda recommended service done to it. Plus it’s in like new condition for a 13 year old SUV.

Would recommend getting a 2011. Been driving mine since 2013 and almost 200k miles with no mechanical engine issues. Just A/C problems.

I’m at 185,000k and zero issues. Waiting for the AC to go out but so far so good lol
My 2011 is going strong at 160k, only issue the car has given me is a leak in the evaporator coil.

Besides not getting good gas mileage what else would indicate it’s time for O2 sensors there should be a upstream and downstream sensor on it?
Dont forget the spark plugs and cleaning if throttle body and mass air flow sensor.
