My earliest memories of wrestling are Cactus Jack in WCW, that company had no clue what was on their hands

Let alone Mic Foley. If you watch the A&E Undertaker Bio its said "WCW had NO imagination" following Ole Anderson saying to Mark Callaway "no one would pay to see him wrestle" There was ALOT of selfishness included in with the no imagination.

WCW missed the boat on so many guys! Keep in mind they had Steve Austin, Triple H, Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Mark Calloway etc etc, they really were clueless when it came to building young stars. On the other hand they were great at taking old established talent like Hulk Hogan and pushing them to the moon and back.

When I finally got to see WCW Worldwide in NY syndication in late 1992, it was Cactus Jack that piqued my interest in the company. He was doing stuff that no one else was at the time and it felt so fresh and innovative that I was sure this guy would be World champion sooner than later.
I was half right- he would become World champion. Where I went wrong was that he didn't win the title in WCW.

WCW was THE GREATEST DEVELOPMENTAL TERRITORY IN THE HISTORY OF SPORTS. NCAA and Baseball’s farm system have nothing on the Dubya Cee Dubya.

It really was foolish of WCW not to jump on The Ear 👂 storyline....however, I wonder if Mick would've been the huge star he was had he seen high level success in WCW. It's almost like all those slights needed to happen for us to get Mankind, Dude Love, Mick Foley, and of course Cactus Jack.

WCW didn’t use HHH right either I guess.Mick still trashing Eric Embry for the 12 second loss in a loser leave town but Eric did right & made it look like a fluke win not to bury Mick

HHH was green as hell when he was in WCW. It wasn't until he teamed with HBK that he started to stand out.

I have never thought, "this seems familiar" watching Cactus Jack. Every Ric Flair match is exactly the same.

I think WCW just brought Foley in to feed him to Sting, and couldn't really figure out what to do with him after that. I remember nearly screaming when I saw the first Mankind vignette. I recognized Mick's voice immediately, and I was so excited to see him show up in WWE. Even as a young kid in '91, I saw Mick as a big deal, and he was one of my favorite wrestlers. WCW totally wasted him for years, and then when he came straight into a feud with the Undertaker in WWE, that was one of my favorite times in wrestling. I was so happy for him.

Two things : 1. You have Mick talking about how he does promos and can sing German folk songs and you don't have him do it ? Secondly....how awkward is it to have Mick sit there knowing that Flair held him back while being interviewed by his son in law ?

  • @battlestarmarc

Foley was at his best as Cactus Jack.
Cactus Vader was a great feud that should have lasted longer.
    Wcw didn't use Cactus correct.

I'm disappointed that Mick renewed his allegiance with McMahon. I get making money but Mick has so many other avenues to do that without siding with someone like Vince.
