A solar panel in the sun roof...
Toyota will do the same with their el. cars.. at least some will have that as an option.. and I fully agree, small thing to do to get some extra clean energy :)

Most people won't drive their cars to empty. Most will freak out and recharge at 20% so Most times you won't use that extra 13km range....nice to have tho I guess..
you will pay for it regardless... they will slap maybe 5-10 grand (aus) on the price of the car to pay for it. :(
The solar panel in the roof will be a great thing specially when you park for extended hour at malls where the sun won’t be obstructed. Solar panel plus regen breaking will be a godsend for city driving .
What that panel will do is help power some of the electronic functions of the vehicle (ac, interior lights, heated seats, etc) and not draw too much additional power from the battery that can now be utilized for range.
Looks amazing. They are definitely on the same road as Tesla with the sustainability but on the face of it the Build quality seems to be better on the Fisker vehicles and using an existing manufacturing partner is smart as they’ve had the growing pains and have the experience. Nice mix of technology and analogue controls much like the new Astra. All adds up to a great formula and I wish them every success.
one look at the interior, especially the plastics used.....Rubbish

@@leikes1 you haven't even touched those plastics yet which are all from recycled materials... you can't jump to conclusion before you get to touch them and feel them..

@@leikes1 you’re missing the whole point of the fisker ocean.
I normally don’t like SUVs and crossovers (other than Range Rovers), but this does look good. I like the California Mode, and also like the solar roof (and Henrik’s view that he doesn’t care about not getting the money back on the solar roof, it’s there because it is cool). I hope they do well with this.

Between the Ocean, model Y or Ioniq 5 I think Fisker’s got my money for now!
Love the design, the simplicity and the idea behind that car. Weirdly enough, I think the rotating screen is a cool gimmick.

I put a deposit down in August 2020 and have kind of forgotten about it. After seeing this video I'm All In. What I particularly like:
1. Panoramic Roof that opens into quasi convertible
2. All the windows opening is very cool.
3. Matte metallic color is very nice
4. Solar panels on roof is a nice touch
5. Overall Interior looks great
This video was impressive enough that I just bought 5,400 shares of Fisker (FSR) stock.
It looks good. It is basically a Tesla for normal people.

Gorgeous car and love the Matt blue. Hopefully the build quality will be there if it’s being built in Austria. The interior door handles looked a bit flimsy in the video though. It will be interesting to see the cheaper Pear model although the name is a bit misguided in my opinion.

I like it! Looks good and with Magna building it, you know it will be built well. Like the floating temperature bar and solar roof, very 'Fisker'. I'll be in my Model Y until this comes out, then we'll see. So far so good! Thanks for the review--very informative.

Looking at interview with Mr. Fisker. Car Journalism at its best, cut through the BS marketing terms but go through truth, ie, inspiration behind designs, histroy , relationship with competitors, challenges ahead.. its a true competitor but they really need to speed it up..!

I like the sustainability first approach a lot. Scandinavian design, Austrian quality, I am very interested and the first car I have seen that may replace my Ioniq 5 P45 in 2 years. The middle trim in Thomas Blue Matt looks appealing. Issue I suspect will be meeting delivery times for the likely demand.

This is finally an interesting vehicle again for 2 years. Henrik Fisker and the Fisker brand are very likeable and I love that design is not a waste product (with regard to the Mercedes E-models), but is absolutely in focus.
The controls are also much more intelligent than in the current German models - simple and blind to operate.
I am not a fan of SUVs, but the Ocean is inspiring and I would be happy if this model becomes successful.
Please test the Ocean extensively when it is ready for production!

This vehicle looks amazing! The solar+ all windows down literally + sporty looks, while having an SUV size LOVE IT! This is the one to watch when it comes out on the market. Now we need to see if the price and quality is right.
Mr. Fisker is miles more sympathic than Elon Musk, my opinion.

I really quite like that styling, especially the uber slim line lights. I'm generally not a fan of the 'out there'/super modern styling, but I do like this Ocean.

I’ll be honest. I’ve never heard of Fisker but wow, these are awesome. Fantastic design and styling.
I really love this look and the matte blue color. I'm excited for this!
For me its better looking and has a nicer interior than a lot of its rivals. Even these static models are more interesting than VWs completely anonymous ID range - probably better quality too. It's already got them beaten on styling inside and out and all it has to do now is to drive decently and the software to work and job done ! Bit of a way to go yet to get but its looking good.

Thanks for pointing out lots of the features I weren’t aware of. I like the twin charging pads and the Ocean “Easter Eggs”, the position of the chargers for example.
The interior quality is better than I expected after some of the comments on the door handles etc.
I’m not bothered about the software. People shouldn’t be using it when they’re driving and it’s way better than my wife’s ID3 which is awful.
The solar panels are more efficient than my Ioniq 5 based on your figures which is good.
Looking forward to getting my One in Scotland in September.
Once the EV market heats up I truly believe that customer support and service will be the most important aspect of your car. I'm currently selling my Model X to get a Rivian. Mainly due to Tesla non existing customer support. They do have service centers that do not talk to HQ and are not able to troubleshoot any issues regarding software or anything beyond the regular service. I do believe that Fisker will get a lot of happy customers. They don't have to compete with Tesla I love what Henrik said he is not the next Elon and that is a good thing. Let Elon be Elon and fly to Mars. We need some people here on the ground to focus on sustainability. How is flying rockets or blowing them up sustainable. Just think.
Tesla makes some good cars but they really need to get a grasp on quality control and service. After the price increase today, the Model Y Long Range is now $62,990 and it will probably still come with all off the panel gaps and inconsistencies and poor customer service. They have a lot of work to do on the service front as well, I agree.

@@moabbassi864 I have a Model Y and the fit and finish should be better for the price point. They don’t improve QC in the US because American customers still purchased the vehicles. The lack of QC isn’t acceptable to other buyers around the world.

Interesting history behind Fisker: Henrik Fisker himself originally founded Fisker Automotive, which produced the Fisker Karma, a PHEV luxury vehicle until the company had to file for bankruptcy. The rights to the Karma were bought by Chinese company Wangxiang, whom turned the model name "Karma" into its very own brand, and the Karma is still produced today, although it is unrelated to Fisker anymore. Now he has relaunched his company as Fisker Inc. and is entering with this new Ocean SUV.

I drove Karma. Super comfy but sloooow due to the hybrid components and setup chosen. But a total babe magnet according to my buddy who owns it.
Even more interesting, Fisker Automotive got a loan from the government, same as Tesla did, but their loan turned out to be based on lying to the government about their vaporware next model. The government figured it out and froze the loan, and Fisker went ahead and did another round of capital raising without divulging the very material fact that their loan had been suspended to any of the investors. Now he claims to be starting a new company to make cars and again has been telling a series of enormous lies.

A beautiful blue paint they have. Love these new matte finishes. A little fussy design, but it will all boil down to price and how many they can make if it is well priced.
Love the look and concept of this vehicle. It also seems to be priced better than most in it's class. My concern is where do i buy one and get it serviced in the US? I asked Google and it had no clue. Do they plan to partner with another manufacturer for Sales and Service?

Solar panels are quickly getting cheaper, lighter and more efficient. If they can add even just a few KMs to the range while the car is just sitting in the sun, why not?
For Ioniq 5, the solar roof is a 1.5k euro option. I don't have the numbers exactly but it can generate up to 2 kwh/day (given good conditions). So that's

I love the interview with Henrik. It's really a treat to hear his perspective. With that pricing he will be a strong player. I think he can sell everything he can produce of the Ocean. Right now the only problem in buying an EV is delivery time.

This is a fascinating review. This is a top one from Fisker. The price is lower than most EVs on the market, and the sun roof solar panel is incredible... Wow! Extremely commendable. If Fisker continues on this path, they will be the go-to brand for the majority of customers.

Very modern but a few concerns. Rear tail lights are a bit thin. Front light are great. Reflector in front plastic trim around wheel wells?? Fisher emblem on front hood????

I’ve been in the Fisker at the LA Auto Show and Santa Barbara-superior in quality. I have clients who are not happy with their Tesla, and are looking for a stronger vehicle. I recommended they look into the VW id4 or Fisker Ocean. Musk days of monopolizing the EV market coming to end November when other EV manufacturers will present their EV vehicles. The competition will begin.

I love the Ocean so much I left a deposit. I will be selling my Tesla Model Y when it arrives.
I've been looking at these cars for the last year or so and really wanted to look at the one model that was showing for $37k however, it doesn't have half of the options the Ocean model does. Some of us just can't afford a $50k car which means we have to deal with less options. Buying a fully electric car without a garage or overnight charging isn't very practical for anyone so I may have to wait a few years before I can actually pull the trigger but definitely interested!
Thomas, any chance you could do an update review with the current software update (v2.0)?

This might be close to the top of its class, so classy and spacious, I want one. Will be a bargain if they keep to the predicted prices. £35,000-£60,000 is a great price

I estimate that you will be able to buy the car never. This is a vaporware company. They do not have even a fully working prototype, or even a test platform with the battery pack and motor in a shell, and claim production starts in nine months.
