After seeing all the expensive sticks you've broken, I think I will stay away from all of them. I have some sub $150 sticks that have lasted me over two years now. I think I would want a stick to at least last me one year for me to consider it. Playing around once a week, that means about fifty times. Thanks for the review. These really help in my decisions.
Glad I can help. It’s important you set your standards and expectations and if you need a stick for a year you’re on the right track for these tops sticks don’t last especially when these types of things are tested and fail
Unless your playing high level hockey just buy the cheaper sticks of a line. The expensive ones are just for performance. If I didn’t play minor pro roller in P.I.H.A. and semi pro ice in the MHL I wouldn’t buy $350-400 sticks because we still have to buy our own. I use a lot of old Eastons in my lower leagues because they’re great and durable.
great review but shouldnt the ft ghost be lower due to it having the same blade issue? unless the blade slightly different on the ghost, not sure if it uses the helicoid also
Good thing I took your advice from your trigger 8 video and opted for the trigger 7😂 I’ll sacrifice a little blade feel for stick that will last longer then a couple games
I had a nightmare last night that my ft6 pro blade snapped (for real 😅), and I was devastated. Its currently my favourite stick of all time. Hopefully it doesn't suffer from the same manufacturing defect as the AS6 and trigger 8. I've played a few game and hit about 100 clappers with it and still feels strong so I think it's okay 👍
Had an AS4 that I bought as I wanted to go from a low kick that I had been using for yrs to a mid. Great advice from you. Loved the stick but it recently broke. Went to a FT6 pro in the same flex 75 and feel like I’m using a low kick again and don’t like it. Do you think I would like a 70 flex better or maybe go for an ASV pro instead. Thanks Boomer. Love your videos!!
I’m enjoying a 70 flex ft6 actually as just easier to load. Still has that stiffer profile feeling to the flex point but the lower flex seems to keep the shot easy and hard. If you like the easy mid load though an ASV pro in 70 would feel very easy
Therein lies the dilemma lol. I want to like the hybrid, I do like everything else about the jetspeed, but really feel I need to go to a lower flex to give it a fair chance. On the other hand the 70 still may not work for me and I’ll regret not just going with the ASV.
Looking forward to that flex video. I've been starting to develop some wrist issues and I'm wondering if I should go down from 75 to 70 flex. Just concerned it will be too whippy. I know it has to do a lot with weight and how you shoot but just thinking ahead for my wrists.
the original tacks was so good, ruined it with the super tacks and now the AS Tacks it's even worse... I want an updated Taylormade RBZ those were legendary.
I have an FT Ghost and broke my blade at the exact same spot about 10-12ish games in as well. Luckily it was within the 30 day window for a replacement, but I fear I'll get the same issue on the new one as well. No way am I buying another one. I'll go back to the FT6 Pro although I love the feel on the Ghost.
Nooooo! My beloved Tacks line pooped the bed! Oh well, nothing lasts forever. So, how terrible is the blade feel of the FT6 pro and do you think the Proto R is still a viable option? I feel like you might have omitted it from one of your stick lists.
I might have edited an old one lol. I’ll have to check. I rushed this a bit as I’ve been busy. I’m actually going to try and experiment in an 85 flex proto this week. I wanna see if the super easy load in a higher flex brings the bombs as I enjoyed the 77 switched to 70 in that and hated it, so wanna go opppsote I’ll keep you updated
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews Oh interesting. Do you think the Proto loads easier than a Sync? I thought the Sync didn’t load as easily as everyone said.
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews That’s good. I found the FT5 pro easier to load than the Sync. I’ll keep the Proto in the running as well as a blue FT6 pro.
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews also I got kind of scared when you said that trigger 8s are braking cuz I got one and I am pretty sure it’s past warranty. But I have only broken a stick once and I am not hard on my sticks.
@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews I wouldn't be surprised if they discontinued it similarly how Bauer discontinued their Supreme line of sticks since the game is faster now
I never have issues with the shafts breaking, it’s always with the blades. Bauer and CCM alike. Both of my Agents broke at blade. FT6 pro also broke in the middle of the blade. That being said both lasted like around 2-3 months which is not bad. If only I could convince my wife of that 😂
its possible when the blade is flex backwards, constant shooting can result in the back of the blade flexing more often than the forehand side. My Ag5nt broke there after 1 whole season of a lot of shooting
If you change the construction of the blade by introducing seams as is the case with the AS6, it's evident that it'll be more susceptible to breaking; CCM definitely knows this. I'll stick with the FT6 Pro .. it's just such a great stick for all types of shots.
What baffles me Anders is the lack of testing in real world when they change this stuff. Like the cycle is short one year change and it’s not a life or death situation but like if you have a bad product don’t send it to the market go back and tweak before but guess it’s just hockey sticks and generally people don’t realize their is something wrong
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviewsit's not that they can't do it (i.e. the testing) or aren't doing it, is more that they do it and then deem it profitable to market said products based on cold capitalism; at least there's an RMA option. CCM sticks are, for the majority of players, durable products and should last for at least a couple of years, unless they're practicing clappers on a daily basis, which would eventually wear out all sticks (or at least quickly take away a lot of the pop).
@@andersborum9267 I like how ccm changes their products they just missed it here they will notice I’m sure and make changes but because their cycles are so fast I bet tooling and production is already in place for like ft7 and trigger 9 so probably will take a year before the blades regain some changes for strength
I got one of these (before your review came out) and I hate it I did go up in flex so that might be why but I can’t shoot with it now that I see this review I am hoping it will break so I can trade it in for something else (I ordered a lx pro for cyber Monday)
@@EliteGearReviews yeah that’s what I mean when I say manufacturing issues it shouldn’t break THAT fast unless something is seriously wrong in construction
