- Today we get more work done on the Dairy Queen Parking lot and we also dirt some much needed areas. In hindsight, not much is done this week. Kind of in a creative block but Ill get back into a faster and smoother pace here soon. I also removed the intro and the titles may change from Episode 30 and out. Hope you guys enjoy and thank you for voting last week!

I really like that you use a bunch of "use what you can get" items and techniques. Shows everyone how accessible the hobby really can be. No need for all the super fancy tools and such for great results!
Thank you! I’m on a sort of budget and I know a lot are in the same boat so I try my best to find ways to get things done without breaking the bank!
if you are using "standard" joint compound, instead of using sand paper, you should try using a damp sponge! (and fill 1 or 2 gallons of water in a bucket to periodically rinse the sponge) Basically, fully soak the sponge, and then squeeze out "most" of the water. The more dry the sponge, the less of the joint compound will be "sanded/smoothed" as you work. The best part - no dust!
Using a puddy knife to remove the "blobs" from the roadways first... creating just a tiny bit of dust & debris, but nothing like when sand paper is used.
When I was little when me and my family went to see our family and near their town there was this Bojangles, we always ate at this Bojangles that was at least 50ft next to the railroad tracks.
Sounds like some great memories!
Great job the parking lot is looking fantastic.
Before you get too far, you might consider a photo backdrop. Making nice progress.
I was at horse shoe curve and I was looking forward to this video! Thanks for making them.
Happy Friday my friend! Parking and dirt lot both look good. "What's the best tool you have? The one in your hand." 😉 🌲🚂🌳🏭😺
Happy Friday man! And thank you 😁😁
It looks fantastic nice job thanks for sharing this video 👍
For the timber that bowed when you painted it. If you paint both sides it won't bow. keep up the good job.
I saw the big boy twice in my home state of Kansas really is amazing
Great video BTW 😊👍
That’s awesome! It’s such a cool thing to see in real life
Oh man, every time I see another video ,this place looks more and more real as anything...this one when finished is going to look so real we won't be able to tell if it's a real place or not...man,you got the touch all right
Thank you so much
Nice looking good so far.
Hey mate another cool video👍. With you all the way with the Big Boy. The attention to detail starting to pay off it's the little things that make it. Anyway great work good onya mate👍👍🙂.
Thank you 😎
Great video and tutorial of the new progress TR! The parking lot lines turned out awesome! You're definitely doing quite a nice job w everything my friend! Thanks for keeping us up to date w this layout series and look fwd to seeing the next one.
Thanks for sharing
Growing up, The Daylight 4449 was my favorite. Had the VHS and everything.
Now? I'd have to say the SD40-2 or the SD60-2
Thanks (as always) for sharing these great ideas and techniques.
The Daylight is in my top 5 for steam for sure. The SD series are beautiful as well!
I really like layouts the fact you make layouts kinda keeps you busy
Very true. Plus I’m always thinking on what do do on the layout as well
Really enjoying your episodes, I been in the hobby of model railroading and Rc cars from as young as I can remember. All scales too, albeit I’ve never had a dedicated layout in HO, so watching these videos are inspiring as some of the others on RUclips are good but super advanced and they don’t explain it so simply and down to earth. Keep it up mate 🍻
Thanks for the kind comment!
Looking great. I have a Denny's ready to go for my layout, definitely going to use some of the parking lot ideas you show.
Dennys is a great choice!
Awesome job on the car park. All it needs now is a bit of weathering and some signage and of course people and vehicles! Really enjoying these videos mate. - Nicholas.
Thanks man! I can’t wait to get it all added 😁
Looking absolutely wonderful man!
At least DQ has a customer.
That looks great. I can't wait to see part 2. DJ is going to want to stop by there for lunch. lol
Great place for lunch too 😂👍🏼
Nice thanks for the ideas!
You should turn the DQ right, left or backwards
Hi Top Railroad! Happy Friday my friend!
It looks great! Don’t forget to add the drive thru lane! Have a great day
BTW - I grew up fairly close to the Northeast Corridor. My favorite locomotive is the GG1.
Personally I love the power of steam locomotives. Diesels are cool too
Have a great day! Looking forward to the next episode!
Happy Friday! And yes I definitely can’t forget the drive through lane haha. The GG1 is a iconic and awesome looking locomotive! Thanks for sharing :)
Nice job. Look forward to part 2
It’s coming out really nice 👍!!!!
I love the diesel locos more
Wow
When I start my layout I'm gunna do videos too but on my layout I'm gunna prolly have 80% Diesel engines and 20% Steam Engines just cause I want a Duluth Misabi IronRange Big Boy since I live here and a Hudson and maby couple bullet nose 1's like the Blue Comet and the red and Black bullet pennsy
That’s sounds like a great idea!
That’s sounds like a great idea!

Wish you had an email so I could send you some pics.
If you want to see some awesome vids by a Fellow Australian. Check out Luke Towan. Utube channel. Well worth watching for ideas.
I might have to make a email for the channel! But yes! I’m familiar with his work and I use a lot of his brilliant techniques
