  • One of the biggest mysteries within Meet The Robinsons is easily the identity of Lewis’s mother. For only a few moments we see his mom within the film, and that has made me want to find out her identity for the longest time. Who could she be? What’s her backstory? Why did she give up Lewis? I discuss everything we know about Lewis’s birth mother and come to a conclusion as to who his mother is!

    My manager said the wisest words the other week is that "In order to move forward, you have to take a few steps backwards." Which he did in the movie with everything he did.
    My older sister was adopted out, due to reasons that I am not able to talk about (it's not my story to tell) but she found us 39 years later and learned that she had five other siblings. We didn't know about her (my twin sister and I are about 18 years younger than her) until she reached out to us, but we were so excited to know about her, we even got to meet her just this past January and we just clicked. We talked as if we had known each other for years. My husband thought that the whole situation was beautiful and intriguing to watch. Sometimes you don't need to take so many steps back, but I know my sister did and it helped her jump so much further ahead in her life.

    A part of me will always be curious about who Lewis's birth mother was. I see her as a very young mother who just wasn't ready or able to care for her son. So she made the hard choice to give him up despite still loving him. But that really may have been the best thing she could've done for him. Lewis was able to find a family that was not only able to take care of him and give him what he needed, but also able to love him. So yeah, Lucille Robinson really is Lewis's mother...

    What if Franny WAS the one who left Lewis at the orphanage? What if she had a timey-wimey adventure that allowed her to meet Lewis' birth mother, then because of circumstances, ended up being the one who had to leave him on that doorstep? Maybe that last hug isn't a goodbye, but an apology that she had to let things play out that way.

    • @maz2825
      @maz2825 4 года назад +9

      Because then Franny's life would have changed significantly too.. she wouldn't be living in that grand house if she HAD to do it because if she was trying to change the circumstances then Lewis could have grown up poor and in a crappy background and not turn out to be the famous inventor he turned out to be
      there wouldn't be a time machine for her to go back in time either anyway if she was doing it to change his life... so if she was the one that left Lewis on the streets it would have had to be after the time machines were created when she was married to Lewis...which means he would know she did and would understand why his younger self was probably brought to the future
      She meets Lewis in school so what you are saying is that she's setting Lewis and herself up... ? That she didn't know him beforehand?
      Why would she put Lewis in an orphanage with a boy that would turn out to try and ruin her future husband's life? Not to mention make her son non-existent.

    Genealogy is a thrilling endeavor! My paternal grandfather started my journey at age seven. I used those developing skills in high school to uncover the fate of my maternal great-grandfather. His descendants spanned both the United States and England. Mother and I attended a large family reunion at the house of my half-great aunt's grandson back in 2017. It was amazing!
    I used Ancestry DNA for the aforementioned events. Lewis Robinson could likely do the same if he wanted to (as could you, Mr. Carlson)! I always wondered that too. my theory is that she was ashamed. abandoning a baby, while her reasons might have been noble, is usually seen as a shameful thing to do. I feel like she was hiding cause she didn't want anyone to know. she didn't want anyone to know that she couldn't take care of her own kid. thats what I always assumed anyway.

    • @ellerj641
      @ellerj641 4 года назад +38

      In the beginning she rung the doorbell because no one was there and wasn't worried about being caught. In the end, Louis slipped on the step making noise indicating someone was nearby which startled her and caused her to freak out and run. She didn't mean to leave him there overnight, but she didn't want to get caught and if someone was nearby, they most likely would have found the baby quickly. Or at least Louis would have started crying and the orphanage care taker would have heard him and ran out to save him.

Since he’d be their first child, Helen may have decided to give Lewis up for adoption to keep him safe (since villains could threaten him to get to Bob and Helen). However, the heartbreak of that decision (as well as the heroes going underground) led her and Bob to decide to keep the children they have later (Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack)

My mom said that she was always fine never knowing who her birth mother was. but a few years ago, we met her, and apparently, she and her daughter lived super close for years but never met. I am lucky to have met her, though I donèt see her as my grandmother or my mom's biological sister as my aunt or her son as my cousin yet. I am happy to finally know who I look like, me looking more like her side of the family, but I can't see my biological grandmother as my grandmother. My grandmother already passed away and I don't see it as replacing her, but I just can't get it into my mind that they are my family yet though I am glad I met them and we are now sharing our lives together.

    Thank you for sharing part of the interview! It would have been interesting to have that scene in the movie so the school can see Lewis' dream come true, but to have his future son also help him was just as powerful and the fact that they both ended the same with Lewis accepting his fate was very mature and powerful. He already knew who his future family would be after traveling to the future with Wilbur, but the lesson there was for Lewis to make it happen himself by working hard and giving adoption a chance, especially when after his Memory Scanner is successful at the science fair, the woman he uses it on is Lucille who adopts him along with her husband Bud! It was hard for Wilbur growing up because he felt abandoned and alone, but he still worked hard and believed in his dreams and they came true at the end of the film. Mildred is also an excellent mother because of her love and support. I truly love this movie because it teachers viewers how to move on and learn from mistakes and to love your family unconditionally, even if they're not the ones who gave birth to you

      One I hear so from femisist is to not Victim Blame but what's the point of blame it's all in the past. . Is it to figure out what happened and what to do about it or simply who should we be made at.
      We
      And actually do have results when people have wisdom and means to protect themselves. As if no ever thought of teaching people not to commit crimes before.
      But fear of Victim Blaming is an emotional tactic to get the Majority of people to choose security over liberty. Or if the Majority population. Take liberaty and security from one smaller group. Like Jim crow and the Metoo Movement. Listen to how they. Justify false accusations.
      They because an extremely small voting demograthic .
      What you expect in a majority rule of course the construction is being replaced by the National Inquiry .

    What if that wasn't his mother? It was never completely specified. What if the supposed mother dropped him off for someone else, there could've been someone who was scared to take care Lewis but loved him so much that they couldn't give him up. But what if something happened to her and she had to ask a friend or a relative to bring him to the orphanage for her knowing what happened to her would no longer make her able to look after him. Perhaps she was hurt or had developed a terrible illness and while Lewis was in the orphanage she was dying in the hospital. I personally think Lucille was the one who was asked to bring Lewis to the orphanage but 12 years later she realized she had made the wrong decision and brought him back into her life even if she wasn't his actual mother. Keep in mind this is just a fun little theory was no supporting evidence, I just thought it would be cool to see if people were going at this the wrong way.

    What if the person dropping Lewis off at the orphanage wasn’t his mother, but was his future wife.
    If Lewis was able to create the time machine in another timeline, in one not so great. He could have asked his wife to find him and get him out of a poor situation (possibly being raised on the streets, or raised in secret).
    Asked wife to go back in time and remove his infant self from his poor upbringing, and give him the opportunity to save the world. Everything was made by Lewis in the future. This may have been due to his wife knowing what the future would need and leaving subtle hints for inspiration to ensure progress in the world developing.
    She may have played a part in ensuring they meet by placing him in a foster home that uses the same school that she knew she attended growing up. (He knew that she was his wife coz time travel, so of course knew he loved her enough to marry her)

    This was really beautiful to speak so much about your family. (:

      Also, while I think most stuff is just Easter eggs, the theories are interesting. The Isle of Naboombu will help the Disney theory fit with the "animal only" worlds.

      I do love fanfiction and alternate universes, just to be clear. I just don't like stuff like "Tarzan IS Elsa's brother!" I mean, there's a frog with a bubble crown in Enchanted, but that doesn't make him Navine's grandpa-especially because this world somehow exists within the present day (or at least 2007).
