  • Adam Audio’s A Series range of monitors was received with much acclaim when it was released at the end of 2022. On the new episode of Beatsource Tech, Mojaxx revisits the line with a look at the biggest option, the A8H. With an extra midrange driver, an 8” woofer and a horizontal design, he asks if they’re worth the price premium over the more conventional nearfield models.

I've got the A8H pair with 12" sub, but my studio is fairly large with 15' ceiling and I'm still treating it.

They must be great to work with, but I have a pair of A77X’s and I’m still in love with them. Besides I only use them for dj’ing at home so there is no need for more at this moment. Thanks for your review, always great to hear your opinions about gear! 👍🏻👍🏻

I fell in love with the sound of the A77X and would have loved to justify a pair for myself. When I heard the A8H for the first time I was simply blown away. But they are double the cost of the A77X and I still don’t have the space for them. Definitely enjoy your pair, they are amazing speakers

Should we still be expecting a full review of the Mastersounds Clarity As?

@Mojaxx Hey, nice review! I have a set of A7Vs I'm using as hifi speakers and DJ monitors which I've been very impressed with. I've been eyeing up the A8H for my hifi setup but as you mention it's a big jump in price. Do you think it's worth the extra outlay over A7Vs for use in a semi-audiophile hifi setup? I've moved away from passive speakers and amps for hifi, I think hi end monitors like Adams offer way better performance for the money!

Nice one. I've been in the market lately for a solution that might be interesting to dig into a bit with this channel as it involves a fairly recognizable scenario. I call it "Living Room PA". Nothing new under the sun but there's surprisingly little info out there, let alone good reviews. The promise is simple. As you already have a DJ set up in your main living room, you'll want a speaker set up that delivers fantastic, high end sound at daily low volume use. But that can also deliver a serious, club like sound over a longer period at high volume the moment the moment you throw a house party. So far I've been struggling to get good recommendations for this. Where to start looking: high end audiophile or PA? Active speakers or not? Subwoofer: yes or no? Atm I'm not sure.

Thnx, ill stick with my T7v in my small home studio, i'll just buy me a T10s instead for more low-end i guess 🤔

What size of adam monitor do you think is good for a 273cm width x 523cm Length x 250cm height room? What size is your bedroom studio which is too small for the A8H?

Do you recommend an Adam audio a77h or a8h for a small size room for mixing and mastering from a Yamaha hs8?

Please don't hate me out of the comments but recently I've really stopped enjoying the sound out of my Rockit's in my new home music room - would this be suitable for DJ'ing at home? or the 7's? Would people recommend Focal as an alternative?

The A8H strikes me as a monitor targeted toward professional studios like Abbey Road or the Record Plant rather than a home studio.

Whilst these are indeed very high quality monitors, Adam still have a whole range above this - the S Series.
I see the A Series as their ‘prosumer’ line.

@@Mojaxx True, however i've tested one or two of their newest S series (plus some oldest S series one my dad got in his studio) and surprisingly I prefered the A8H everytime
