I'm on Morecambe prom and last summer i was looking out of my front window across the bay and to my extreme left, towards Heysham direction i saw a funnel cloud, it was high in the sky but seemed to be several miles to my south (ish) direction. Of course by the time i grabbed my phone the thing had vanished sadly. I'm a radio amateur so i pay a great deal of attention to electrical storms, i used to keep an old medium wave radio tuned to a quiet no-station part of the band to hear oncoming storms. I used to live near Langho in the Ribble Valley, years ago i was standing in my friends (another amateur) back garden one hot summer day in Whalley. I looked up and the grey clouds were so low i felt i could reach up and grab a handful of this what looked like grey sand rotating above my head. it was the strangest sight i've ever seen, so ominous, it looked 'wrong' &i knew a storm was brewing. I got home and that night i was awoken by huge purple CG outside our house, i could see the purple forks through my drawn curtains ! - never seen a storm so violent. Afterwards i picked up my aerial wire i had thrown out of my window for safety, i was in bare feet in the mud and thewire landed connector up on the patio. the charge shocked me so much it threw me backwards into the back wall of our house. That storm damaged some house electronics. Nowadays i am trying to learn how to spot a storm cloud and all the associated info on understanding what i see. Great channel, i've seen a few videos already and learnt stuff already. Thanks.

Closest thing I've ever seen was a dust devil while on holiday in Spain. It crossed the road right in front of us!

some years ago there was a tornado watch for where i live (bilston, west midlands) and strangely a very strong wind system passed through my street and into the adjacent field and street, i personally thought it was a micro burst due to not being able to see a condensating funnel, but i do often hope i was wrong.

I was lucky enough to see two Funnel Clouds just over two weeks ago whilst driving near Doncaster, North Yorkshire. I was on a high for days afterwards. I've always wanted to see one. I've put the video on my channel. Enjoy.

Weak funnel clouds are quite regular here in West Yorkshire, but just try to photograph the buggers 🤦🏻‍♂️
