Only OJ Simpson ran for 2000 yards in a 14 game season but it's possible that Terrell Davis could've done it but for being pulled from games to save him for the playoffs.
man, alvin kamara should have got at least one feat.... never had 1000 rushing and-or 1000 receiving!!?! i felt he had that each year!!!! but he had 1000 scrimmage every year.
@Ogreyouassho hey played in an era with Walter Payton, Eric Dickerson, and marcus allen. That doesn't include smaller stretches of his career competing against barry sanders, bo Jackson, and Thurman Thomas. It was a pretty crowded all pro roster in the backfield back then
I was NFL bound until them Sebring Lightning bolt boys took out my knees in the Heartland Championship game of the 7th grade Junior high school round of 64 in 1997. Them good ole days as the running back for them Hardee Junior High Wildcats.
No he didn’t lol, Roger Craig, Marshall Faulk and Christian Mccaffrey are the only players to ever have 1000 yard rushing and receiving the same year. Riggins was great though
@@pts5217 i think the obviously sensible thing is use all resources in player evaluation. stats, eye test, intangibles. to disregard direct player productivity like he seems to is backward
@@drone124I agree with that…but I do think stats alone get way too much attention anymore, while being an overrated aspect of the game. A perfect pass dropped by a trash WR still counts as an incompletion against a QB, just like INTs that were tipped bc of a bad O-line or bc it was bobbled by the WR etc…so the numbers alone don’t tell the whole story but are still often treated like the end-all/be-all
The "1,000 yard club" doesn't mean all that much anymore to me. If you think about the number of games that are played now, good running backs, even mediocre running backs, should be able to reach that pinnacle. It's a false achievement to me.
The special thing with the 1000 yards is just that it is the first number with 4 digits of course it impressive and definitely not easy don’t won’t to say that but the difference between a 975 rusher and a 1025 yard rusher is not that much the one back is still called elite and the other one is not part of the club
As running backs get more devalued and teams don't rely on workhorses anymore, the only benefit to increasing to 17 and eventually 18 games and beyond is 1000 yards for a running back is still an attainable goal instead of an improbable one.
I am not impressed by 1,000 yards anymore rather rushing or receiving. Offense is the current NFL as defenders can't play defense like they could decades ago. I will be impressed when a running back hits 2,000 yards in today's game.
If you don't hav 1K by the 14th game of the season I'm not impressed... I started watching a when the season was 14 games so that's my bench mark...and plz don't even tell me about a back that gained 1K in the 17th game... Big ups to the fans of the 12 game season using it as their bench mark...if any of em r still amongst us...god bless u... 👌🏿

OJ also played in a run-heavy era and on a team without any other offensive weapons
@@pts5217 Which makes it even more insane that he accomplished it.
Getting a 1000 yards rushing in a season is still a good season for a RB especially in todays NFL considering most offensive primarily passing
Not this season. The pendulum is starting to swing back a little bit.
When saquon puts up 300 on the panthers hell be only 200 away from 2000.

not ONCE mentioning saquon barkley on track to break eric dickerson's single season rushing record is actually a war crime
Because he is not on the Giants the NFL media is also butthurt about it.
1:41 Completely agree. Stats can be misleading…like how a dead-on pass dropped by a lousy WR still counts as an incompletion against the QB
Glad Tiki Barber was able to overcome leaving his pregnant wife with twins to still be working.
I wonder if running away from his responsibilities counted toward his rushing stats?
BTW Roger Craig not being in the hof makes the hof null and void htf he not make it
Roger Craig has 1 All-Pro Team award. He was really good.

😂😂
@King_Kunta ain't nuttin funny bout knees being tooken.
I've seen this comment a lot
AP was sooooo close 🤏🏾 to the single season record
Put Craig in the hall
John Riggins did this in the '70s 1K rushing and receiving.
No he didn’t lol, Roger Craig, Marshall Faulk and Christian Mccaffrey are the only players to ever have 1000 yard rushing and receiving the same year. Riggins was great though
this man said "stats are for losers" must be why Falcons are utter trash
you just have to learn how to read it and differentiate with real life
He’s right though. Stats are over-valued. There’s more to the game than numbers

420 puff puff pass 😂😂😂
Saquon not being in the spotlight intro 🤡

emmit couldve had 13 straight. he only fell short a combined 50+ yards his first and last cowboy seasons
If you can’t get 1000 yards in a 18 game season…….you don’t belong in the NFL!

1000 yard season isnt elite, it just means the runningback had a good season.
Elite is anything 1250 and above.

NFL films showed Barry Sanders with 2,057 yards in a season. He actually got 2,053.

Derrick Henry wants to have a word with you
Do you think there will be a 2000 yard receiving season?
@@AmirKhan-yv8jm Yes. Calvin Johnson was less than 50 yards away when it was a 16 game season.
HENRY will get bout 220 on eagles watch
Lmfao
how much you think the leading rusher will get??
😂😂 This aged well
