      If you get tempted you can try to trick your brain by pretending that you’re smoking or you can try none nicotine vapor that I tried using to quit. Although vapor is not healthy because of other chemicals but at least the worse one is not in there which is nicotine and that’s the true addictive source.

    Started smoking at 17 years old. I'm 58 now. I've been smoke free for 3 months. I feel a lot better now. The cravings for nicotine are so strong but you can overcome. Don't let yourself be defeated. You are the master of your own person. Don't wait for the doctor to tell you that you have a serious life-threatening illness from smoking. That would be terrifying. Fear of getting sick should motivate us to quit for good.

  • @tomtransport
    @tomtransport 3 года назад +151

    Here's why I stopped (started in 1957 at 15) smoking in 1973. A program about tobacco and it's addiction was on a public TV station. It showed a glass shed about 15 X15X12. They filled it with smoke as thick as they could. The voice over said-----You would probably not go into that building and take a deep breath because your eyes would tell your brain there is dangerous chemicals and smoke in there. Continuing, the voice over said--when you draw on a tobacco products like cigarettes', pipe, cigar, etc. your eyes do not have the chance to see the dangerous smoke/chemicals going directly into your lungs. I said to my wife, that makes a lot of good sense I think I'll quit. I had a lighted Cigarette between my fingers, I finished it and it was my last. 48 years ago. I admit I craved a cigarette especially at work for about 3 to 5 days. After 5 to 10 days The craving went away and I was no longer desperate for one. After about a month or so it was---I did not smoke yesterday and I am not smoking today. After about 3 months I did not miss them at all. Are they addictive? Yes! Can you stop? Yes, I did! It's none of my business if you smoke. To me your smoking is like you fell off a cliff but your hanging on to the edge. I just tossed you a rope, whether you grab it or not is up to you.

    Sadly, I watched this with a cigarette in my hand-used to be an athlete, former military member, health fanatic..it’s amazing how making a few bad choices has caused a battle with addiction to cigarettes. I used to get on my mother and sister, and then like an idiot, I did the same thing. My advice to myself and others (the people who never have smoked, it’s much easier for you to shake your finger at us, though I get it, I used to be there) is to try your best to replace the cigarette with another habit-you have to find something to take it’s place, and if anyone is depressed and smoking, it makes it that much more difficult, or just in a bad place in your life in general will allow smoking to be harder to kick. I think that’s what a lot of people overlook is the underlying reason why someone picks up a cigarette (or anything destructive for that matter) to begin with.

    I've only smoked a pack and a half in my whole life. Decided to try it "Casually" to see what the fuss is about. The first head rush is what really gets you to keep trying it, but the tolerance just builds up and you smoke them just to feel "normal" I'm even really into fitness and will always be, and the only reason I won't continue is because it will negatively impact my fitness goals and other areas of life. However still vape nicotine occasionally and do it in moderation. Definitely quitting all together regardless.

It is a swedish snus by "Swedish Match" called "Nick & Johnny Crushed Ice" and is a strong snus. Today i have only smoked 1 cigarette. Finally after 10-25 cigarettes a day for around 16 years i now will be able to stop smoking. Edit* Now i have finally stopped smoking completely. Have no smokingcravings at all. And haven't touched a cig for 4 whole days now. That's 96 hours. I am so proud of myself and feel so much healthier and rarely cough anymore. And my hands and feet are getting warmer. They were always cold when i was a smoker. I finally did quit smoking tobacco at 18th of august 2019. Haven't smoked tobacco at all since then.

    Been smoking 35 years now and none of this stuff was on the cigarette packs I smoked, just may cause lung cancer ty for this I have developed P.A.D. IM 58 and my femoral artery is full of calcium, and I have a blood clot in calf all from smoking, the doctor won`t even operate on me till I quit, thanks for this video, should be shown in grade schools. The only people who get P.A.D. are smokers and diabetics. Peripheral Artery Disease.

    I told myself years ago that the only time i can really quit smoking is that when i get really inlove with someone and she will have me choose between her or smoking. Now, i found that girl that i really love. Unfortunately she is also a smoker. LOL

      Ik this is an unpopular opinion unlike "JusT SmOkE WeED" but maybe try cigars you dont inhale alot of places allow it more than cigs and its in someways more acceptable than cigs since i switched to cigars ive had better responses than when i smoked cigs

    I finished watching this video and lighted a fresh stick of cigi. I still believe everything is bad and everything is good, the right question is the level of use, or amount use. Stay free from abuse of anything whatsoever, not just smoking.

    I didn't think some of the symptoms existed from smoking. The cataracts, blood thickening, and high cholesterol. I'm actually surprised. And more surprising is people say that they get these symptoms because of inheritance (whether you do smoke or not) when it's actually the case because you giving your body higher chances of the symptoms from smoking.

      Inheritance in like 98% of the times is your parrents having bad lifestyle choices and habits which you inherit and ruin your own life,sometimes their habbits can ruin your life without you ever adopting their habbits like second hand smoking when you are growing kid

    I wanted to quit so much but the problem is I just can't quit by myself.
    being in the environment where most people smoke it's hard to quit easily,I'm still trying though.
