Truck Fail

- This video is about a HD Tractor pulling a lowloader against a steep gradient of a slope. Due to the incline and load on the fifth wheel of the tractor, there is no load on the front axle of the tractor making it impossible to steer the transport combination in the right direction.
Finally almost at the end of the slope, the tractor stops and applies the brakes, but these apparently only work on the axles of the tractor and not on the lowloader, which pulls the whole combination down the slope, despite the friction of the rubber tires of the tractor on the road surface
The worst thing about this clip is watching the ground as the mishap unfolds.
I'm pretty sure the truck driver , truck owner and bulldozer owner would disagree but I feel your frustration.
Didn't you know? Turning the camera away at the crucial moment is the first law of filming for RUclips.
Happens every time, right at the crucial moment.
It’s because he no longer cares about videoing and now cares about reality.
@@kickingagainstthepricks4059 And the reality is that there is nothing he can do, so he may as well continue filming.
If that guy hadn’t been on the dozer, the load would have been just light enough to make it!
All the guys should have jumped on the truck's front bumper.
Hell of a job chaining the dozer to the trailer though, stayed right on there.
At video mark 0.28 the truck starts to do a wheelie and you can hear the truck has alot of power still left to "tackle" that incline. Once the front tires are off the ground you loose steering control. Love..love the power in that engine
Cummins power
Yes we all watched the video too.
Just as you`re about to see the money shot.....we see a nice clip of the tarmac!
Maddening!
Think happy thoughts 😎
I'm guessing he didn't want to show his friends die while they were on top of the dozer.
Yea. Dang it
Seems like the 5th wheel needed to be moved up to put more weight on the front end. Shame that autocar got messed up. Classic truck.
"Mira, Mira, no can steer-a!"
Rotfl
That poor old autocar. Such a shame all these great old trucks get shipped to third world hellholes to be destroyed by idiots
JR - I agree entirely, especially the idiots bit.
On the good side, at least they’re not thrashing so many donkeys nowadays....
Weren't Autocar first to fit a turbo to their trucks in the late 50s? Agree about the idiots!
They were general already tore up when they got shipped. You like junk getting tore up watch Gold Rush
I’m with ya on that, lower gear and a loader pushing, no sweat, instead they wrecked a bunch of equipment for shits sake.
@@deborahchesser7375 what makes you think they have access to a loader or other piece of heavy equipment that could help? He would have been fine if the front wheels stayed on the ground, truck had to stop or it would go off the road.
I just hope that beautiful old autocar didnt' get tore up
DieselFuelOnly exactly what I thought
@Stanley Banks you piece of crap
@Stanley Banks that Autocar is a really rare rig nowadays
Me too, ain’t she a beauty?
The gooseneck is off the trailer the trucks frame maybe bent how bad that's a lot of weight was a Super Cool Autocar
You know the same thing happened to Geraldo’s career and it never recovered
I heard he’s still secretly searching for Al Capone’s vault.
That was bad. I feel sorry for them guys
Always bring the right tool for the job.
When you forget to connect the gladhands to the tailer that day.........lol
1:12 running down the hill in his flip flops
He is stroking the salami
That wasn’t “truck fail” it was driver fail.
It's a different set of rules in other countries. They don't care about safety and they get paid very little. So if that driver wouldn't have taken the load it would've been somebody else.
@@Truckerdaddy your right they run without brakes
...and a camera fail.
@Caden Wikle He was beyond GVW, this was doomed to failure.
They will start running across the border again with China Joe in charge. There is no Covid problem south of the border.
Wow.... going uphill with that much weight on back without trailer brakes.... braveheart
Brave heart? More like wooden brain🤣
Well the good news is that giant dozer will pull that truck out and up that hill like a rag doll.
Sad stuff. Just goes to show when you are working with this kind of loads never ever get comfortable. Be alert, think ahead and always think twice before taking any risk
Man that was a Cool old Autocar
Nothing to see here, Just one more lame comment about your name... (Sorry man).
That's what happens when the brakes on the trailer don't work. 👍
The weight legit pulled the truck
At 0:37 there is a guy on the bulldozer!
I bet he was trying to hold the break
@@johnriggle5336 he jumped out luckily.. 1:03 close call..
I think we are going to need a bigger truck!
If the dude on the dozer had been standing on the bumper of the truck instead, they'd have been golden.
Sigh.. she was just too heavy for that poor fella to get her up that hill, she snapped his drive shaft instantly leaving him paralyzed unable to get them up both up that hill. His driver was also his downfall and his carriage he was pulling along with his heavy mistress had no brakes either.😨Such a handsome fella and they wrecked him he was a classic that truck.
It's just an autocar
@@kyboy5 yeah, i know but ion even see em no more.
This whole comment is kind of creepy… Regardless, no driveshaft ever snapped. You don't know what you're talking about.
And that’s were the trailer brakes come in play
No brakes?
The sound of someone running in flip flops, I can’t help but laugh!
That was interesting ,
As soon as the foreign language starts , you know that there is going to be an wreck , just wait for it
How much load?
that's a beautiful truck
Woah! That drift though.
Holy shit. Driving tractor trailers is so challenging. I can’t imagine what was going through the drivers mind lol like once you already committee to going up the hill there is no turning back lol
I'm a log truck driver and when that vehicle stopped pulling That's when I would have stepped out of it .been hear done that .Not a day the driver will soon forget. Hope he survived
Not a truck fail, a driver fail. Not a load for rookies......
Steering HELL why didn't it have enough brakes?
not about the brakes, its just to heavy, no grip to hold it
No trailer brakes
Just because you play that game Snow Runner dont mean you can complete the real life stuff.
Stay working at Walmart folks.
The situation: the action is just starting to happen. Here we go!
Camera man: starts recording the ground.
Not a Heavy Haul truck, should've been using a 9 axle for that load.
The right equipment is important.
no trailer breaks
Seemed that way, the truck wheels had enough traction going up so those plus the trailer locked up should hold it.
I think the trailer had a break. No brake though.
Where is the trailer parking brake bro? Why not parking first?
The mechanic who checks brakes regularly must have sent it.
Glad the truck didn't flip. But please never try to film anything ever again.
Finally a fucking video that lives up to its title!
1:08
Nice camera stabilisation.
Yep. :-(
It's a good thing the camera boy pointed it at the ground at the best part of the video .
Yep! Otherwise, we might've missed seeing that all-important asphalt!
What an excellent driver that is, but he would have engaged reverse gear.
.
True
Engage it when slowly moving back and jus engine brake down the hill but no
Brakes will do fine as we saw
He needed a loader behind him, I’ve moved plenty of mining equipment, this was poor planning, and it cost a good truck and put a man in danger.
@@deborahchesser7375 I have history working with locomotives. Normally there's a push unit(s) and pull unit(s) ahead. An "Oversized Load" and a few escorts would prevent further liability.
No trailer brakes? ay carumba
Me in snowrunner towing 10 cargos at once.
This guy clearly forgot to shoot his winch line to a tree.
@@Kandres027 right?
The laws of physics will not be broken...
SAMIR... YOURE DESTROYING THE... oh fuck it... Nevermind.
I saw the exact same thing happen some time ago......Rt. 58......Redding, Connecticut.
Did the driver do anything wrong? Did he miscalculate anything? Was the rig loaded incorrectly?
Yes. Yes. Yes.
Why would you needs brakes if your driving UPHILL, right?!?! 🤷♂️ Must be another one if those “professionals” huh?
brakes*
@@joecausey8508 👍
Where is the ballast at front
Piss-poor planning, not having working brakes on the trailer, but the "driver" waited too long before trying to steer back straight while he was still going forward. And the final thought here is, without brakes on the trailer, how would the unit have descended the other side of the hill, anyway ?
The cameraman failed out of Fail Video School
Too much weight
Thinking the driveshaft broke also
the load kinda looks like it was too much on the truck , almost like it should have been loaded a little farther back on the trailer or maybe pulled on the trailer the opposite direction to maybe shift more weight off the truck , so it doesn't pick the front up
Yes a low Ioader dolly is needed to shift centre of gravity back. Far too much weight on trucks rear axles.
I blame the driver , , just watching the clip once I concluded . How could Yu possibly make a hold or stop on steep slope? He was almost over but stopped , no trailer brakes again 🤷
& wat happened next?
Was that supposed to happen?
Yes. Preplanned & executed well!
Woulda been easier to unload the dozer and crawl it up that section, load back on at top of the hill, continue the drive
When he was running I thought it was naruto who‘s Running
Por querér economisar salió más costoso.
Esa carga por la zona que se transparenta era necesario un camión más pero empujando.
No trailer brakes
Tyres were able to pull that load up the hill but not able to hold it still on the exact same place? That's fu**ing weird...
Dang - where did this occur, geographically ?
Third world region
@@wompbozer3939 Chicago?
Right down the hill from where he was.
Dominican Republic
the RGN either broke, or detached. Look at the very end of the clip
Scary shit. Holy crap. Mistake or not. We all make them. But dayum guy on top was like. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
Un respiro para la selva amazónica.
AYE CHIHUAHUA ! Might of helped if it were a tri-axle tractor.. I mean it was a nice ACAR but needed a little more stretch That was a big dozer
Thats why whenever they are pulling up very heavy loads they should always have another powerful truck or tractor infront just incase they need it to assist the other truck pulling the load
this is kind of a bummer honestly, they know it’s going to be hard (you can see why they are all out trying to help..), and this is all they have to work with
Sounds like the camera guy is in charge. He's wearing flip flops. The guys on top of the dozer are lucky if they were not hurt or worse.
Where are the regulations joe!
The language in the video should let you know there are no regulations rules and what is OSHA.
I still see this fail many times
The grass really showed him
Y el todas las personas están bien?
Should be titled "Cameraman fail".
That driver is SUPER lucky that trailer came uncoupled at the bed. If it hadn't it would have been no bueno for him.
How do they uncouple? I presumed there’s some sort of lock but evidently they can just pull apart...?
@@CycolacFan they usually don't. It usually will flip the truck before it comes uncoupled.
Couple sandbags on the front would've been nice.
Eso pasa cuando pasas por alto el sobrecargamiento
The weight should have been distributed better on the fifth wheel. If it was moved forward slightly you'd be putting a lot more weight on the front wheels which would have allowed better steering control and probably avoided this whole thing by being able to chug up the hill. The engine had enough power to do so but as soon as the rig came to a stop due to lack of steering control it was only gonna end one way.
That may have helped some but I really believe power management and letting the front back down sooner would have been a big factor in avoiding this. All he had to do was feather the throttle out a hair at a time until the steers grabbed and pulled it the other way
Well that was a missed opportunity by the cameraman.
Yep. :-/
Poor old Autocar! They were good trucks! (If not in the hands of idiots)
Awww somebody is Burt hurt better bring whistlin diesel to destroy one of them
If those guys spoke English this would not have happened
How would speaking English in a Spanish speaking country help prevent what happened?
U sound dumb it’s in another country that speaks Spanish
Grandpa used to say that there is no shortage of stupid people in this world, what the heck were they thinking being that obvious ly overloaded?
Gotta keep my eyes upon the road cos I’m going down the hill with a heavy load!
These pure man are running trailers without brakes, that`s way it went down. If he had 4 axle trailer with brakes he could stop, and restart in crawler gear
That's gonna leave a mark.
Can someone with knowledge about truck driving explain what actually went wrong? And how the hell this happened
I guess the driveshaft has broken. When he stopped and tried to accelerate again, the driveshaft was not able to handle the stride. The better option would be slowly decreasing the acceleration until the wheels touching the ground, then correct the steer and keep going.
Ian Ferreira that makes sense, been seeing this video everywhere but just wondering how it happened... thanks
Driveshaft or not, it should have had better brakes. Front wheel brakes don't do squat, so they were not the issue. Maybe the trailer had no brakes. What a mess. All stupidity
I'm a trucker. that was too much weight. they should have taken that dozer off and drove it up the hill or have another dozer push behind him for another boost. They know better than that.
apparently this wants to save a special transport
I wonder if he got fired...
but... how
Could've ended up worse. Another tow vehicle in front chained to the tractor would've probably avoided this accident. It would've at least kept the tractor steered right.
I thought you could solve everything! This is in the past, but you are god!
they should build direction as well on traccion wheels. He would have stayed in the road track to continue traccion
Should have unloaded the dozer at the bottom of the hill and pushed the truck up it, LOL.
Good day to wear the brown pants
Thats just stupid as hell... Right truck for the right job ...this pull needed two trucks one pushing one pulling. And experience helps
When he went to sliding back. He shoulda put it in 1 first gear and dropped the clutch and floored it
