Gundam History Teacher Brett had me in absolute stitches!
I loved this game as a kid. The best thing about it is the sound design. It's got that early sci-fi feel to it. The laser sound effects are just... amazing.
Sometimes Santell just gets me laughing so hard.

I love this game, I still own is after 14 Years
I'm surprised Brett still hasn't watched any GUNDAM after doing like 4 of their games on here. All the mainline 70s and 80s stuff is great. You get into the 90s and it gets sketchy. You get into the 00s and every character looks like every anime from that era. Iron Blooded Orphans is good though.
But don't the older ones also look like most anime from their time too? Especially in stuff like character design... I mean, I prefer that style anyway, but I dunno... Not that character design is everything anyway.
Oh well lol no biggie.
It's amazing how long it takes Santell's brain to adapt to controls. That salt is inTENSE.

Big Green sounds like some alien that got recruited to the Federation, yet he has a real name. The guys just call him that because they're too stubborn to pronounce it

God, I fucking loved this game and it's sequel, Gundam vs. Zeta Gundam. The latter had the legit best fanwank story mode in any game I've seen.

This turned out to be a great episode! Santell thinking he had it in the bag to giving maximum effort and taking the L was great. I was always really surprised by this game since everything up to the moment the match starts suggests jank. But there's a game here, huh? Lots of counterplay, variation, and really responsive. Also if I recall correctly, your "block" is literally just positioning your shield to take the hit lol. I remember there being planes available too, but they might have been space only. Happy you guys had fun and thanks for the great episode! I'm going to start getting a 2nd batch together for ya'll! -Sal
I think you had to unlock them in arcade or story mode.
You could get various mobile Armours to play with and stuff like the G-Bull and G-Fighter... You could also unlock being able to play with mobile suits on either side, I think... I think there were different colour schemes depending on which faction was using which mobile suit...
Anyway, one of my favourite things to do was play as a G-Fighter against 2 Big Zams, tricking them into killing each other... I found it amusing anyway ^_^;
So many Gundam games. This music reminds me of old anime or some old science documentary.

After Santell was messing around, you got set to Auto-Select, Brett.
But yeah, it's not a fighting game. It's a Gundam VS game, so I'd call them a mecha dueling game.
It's not really a duelling game though... The closest we get to dueling is the Vs mode, but that's not even the primary game mode... But if we were to focus on the Vs mode, it kinda makes me think arena fighting/combat game... I dunno...
God I was amazing as Zeon in this game. Watching you fail as a gelgoog saddens me.
I think i actually played this, which is rare. Had fun with it, even if i had no idea what anything was

ALL they need to do is make a Gundam game exactly like Virtual On. It’s the perfect Gundam game without Gundams.
I remember when I was a kid I was at my Aunt's house for Christmas and her PC came with that game, despite being woefully inadequate to run it. It took literally 5+ minutes to load every match, but it was so goddamned good I sat there and waited for each match rather than deal with all my crazy, drunk relatives.
The only time in UC Ball killed something.
Well, if you count 8th MS team, a ball does kinda take out a Zaku... I forget if you see any others take anything out.
Why would you build a giant robot just so it could hold a gun?
man this was funny yeah the game is janky but Santell you need to up your game then again it is hilarious to see you get so mad when you are just playing badly
