*Ron Howard Voice*
"He didn't"
YOU GUYS JUST CAN'T JUST DROP A 3RD STRIKE VIDEO OUT OF THE BLUE!
Says who ;)
Def saw the balls on one of the first pauses
The animation of this and Garou Mark of the Wolves is so great and the Music of Third Strike is awesome.
I remember giving a DJ friend Elena's music and he ended up putting it in his mix that weekend and rockin the house with it.
Now I get why you said “this is it”. Because it really was. Damn.
Elena’s movements are so fluid. Constant movement. It’s beautiful.
Santell has dropped enough little nuggets about his past for me to know for sure that we grew up in roughly the same place. It's a trip.
Gonna miss you guys together big time. Loved Run It Back. And I’m very happy 3rd Strike was the last game y’all did for the channel.
Ah yes, the game responsible for the iconic Evo Moment #37...
1999 was a strange and wonderful time for video games.
I watched Paws of Fury yesterday and you guys mentioned this one when it came to footsies and blocking from the foreground.
Hugo is totally Andore Jr.! Even got the lady from Final Fight there in his corner! :D
The Adventures of Baron Von Hardcharger careful dude, poison has a penis
To be honest, I'm surprised this wasn't made earlier.
My favorite fighting game of all times.
I have been waiting for this day and it is finally here one of the best fighting games of all time played by my favorite let's players damn this game was good this was the game that made me serious about fighting games I don't think I have played any fighting game as much as this one super jealous you guys played it in the arcade I was one of the last people to play this only played it on the re-release on Playstation 2 and boy was that version fun cause it let you customize how you wanted to play the game and it was great this game is immortal and will never die I'll play this with anyone even if I get my booty rocked and highly recommend to any one who loves fighting games but hasn't played it to get on it you are doing yourself a disservice if you don't
In this episode of Run it Back Brett shows Santell where Brooklyn is
Santell learning not to press buttons? It hasn't happened yet and I'm not holding my breath :P
That was the funniest bit he had all episode XD
I didn't even know this collection existed until today. Now I must buy it!(Also great video)
Decepticons are the villans Santel is thinking of.
I wonder if the reason 3rd Strike didn't do well initially was due to series fatigue. I mean, from 1995 to 1999 there were *six* Street Fighter games released in arcades (the entire Alpha series and the entire SFIII series). That, in my opinion, is over-saturation. Follow that up with each of these games being released to home consoles about 6 months later and god damn that's a lot of time and effort to even stay in shouting distance of just one of the series, much less both. Add in Marvel Super Heroes and its successors... That must have been an exhausting time for fighting game players.
Remember: New Generation deeply polarized the fans because there were no legacy characters. Fans demanded at least Ryu and Ken be in the game for people to even notice it, and Capcom had to go back and add them to even give the game a chance when it released. However, the damage had already been done at the time (it was the mid-90s, so there was tons of competition) and SF3 was off to a horrible start. Second Impact was nearly Japan-exclusive, meaning it was very rare to find in arcades. When Third Strike released, it was Capcom's Hail Mary for the franchise.
ShiningT1g3R: I suspected that the characters might not have been well received, but couldn't be sure. I wasn't paying attention to fighting games at the time except a vague knowledge that there were a lot of them, and coming out very fast.
It's strange, but Santell seems a little less salty in street fighter vids, and considering Brett is pretty solid in his SF, Santell ain't no slouch either. If he didn't press buttons it would be even closer.
Yea, i feel like if the game is good, and santell is enjoying himself playing, he won't be salty when/if he gets bodied
This has got to be the most laid back run it back ever! Like this game has the vibe about it that everybody just has a good time win or lose. Like I know salt exists in literally every game but like third strike is just different! It’s so good, and so anti fraudulent. I am garbage at this game but I keep playing cause it’s fun and it feels good!!
I can forever watch and play this game
That was so good!
FINALLY!
You arrived
Oh hey, the best fighting game ever. Sick. This is the game that got me into fighting games. I saw Alex's moveset and I immediately wanted to pick it up.
Yo i been waiting for this
No picture of Brett with the belt? :o
Brett and Santell was having fun in this video.
THEY FINALLY DID IT! THOSE MADMEN DID IT!
It’s G’s “Gia Impact”
26:09 balls
26:35 the D
!BRNG BACK REMYY!
Yes my childhood and a nutshell best game ever. This and Tekken 3 . Mmm... tasty
Now this is a fighting game!
Let’s get it on now!
This is an underrated fighting game though..nice graphics, nice music, cool characters!
Underrated? Third Strike!? A lot of people think it's the best fighter of all time, I don't think that counts as underrated...
whoa whoa WHOA brett, i have to stop you there. house is most definitely black people music. house evolved from the (predominantly black) disco scene in chicago! jaimie principle's your love is considered "the first house tune", and started a whole new era in the club scene in the mid 80s
It's finally happening!
Cool
You guys need to play run it EVER FURTHER BACK to Street Fighter Three (aka New Generation)
Which of the smurfs had the misfortune of making up Oro's junk?
HYPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Oro; the wierdest smerf. Papa smerf forbids oro's name from being uttered
No way...
I thought this would never happen!!!
God I love tuesday
Got to go Brooklyn!
I want Sean in 5 so badly
Santell: Pro Masher
I really miss old school Transformers :'(
Ah Alex, one of the better capcom grapplers in my opinion.
Which 3rd strike is better? Online edition or this one
And is there an Arm Joe in the near future, the world may never know
Depends what you mean by better. Online Edition has extra colors, this one is arcade perfect
NO LOVE FOR ELENA’S STAGE?!?!?
I bought this from XBLA for Xbox 360, and pretty much hated it. =/ Played the arcade mode through and bit of multiplayer but didn´t like it.
Also why you played it in stamp sized window ? There is a fullscreen option as well (thank god).
6:28 Wait... but you don't... flip... you know what, it's not worth it.
16:55 uncomfortable interracial attraction and doesn't know how to explain it without sounding racist so weird shit comes out.
Lmao what??? I'm aware this was over 5 years ago, but Santell was clearly talking about how he liked the rotoscoping animation on the character. Race had nothing to do with anything jeeez
