You KDP book title is one of the essential components for getting your no content and low content books ranked on Amazon. If you can rank on the first page for a search term you get more traffic, more people see your book and so your chances of making sales increases. One of the key components to this is using keywords in your title and subtitle. I show you my method of using keywords and structuring a title correctly to take advantage of the Amazon search algorithm and give your book a better chance of ranking.

Middle part of subtitle is against Amazon's KDP t&c. It's not allowed to add information like amount of pages, size etc. Better use that space for something else. Generally very interesting tactic, I will try it for sure! Thanks for sharing

Hi! Is there a difference in impact on SEO/ranking between a keyword in the title vs the subtitle?
Hi Paul. Perhaps it would be suitable to create a new video about this topic, including all the latest information. I would be particularly interested if we could use the word 'gift' in the subtitle, as I've heard that some people encountered issues because of it. The same question for words like 'ideal' and 'perfect'.

Can I add a title to my word search book, such as: A challenge to search for words or another title, such as searching for difficult words, because I saw some people having problems because of adding words to the title, such as good, perfect, beautiful, etc.

Hello I learnt about Amazon KDP for some while now!!! I also got a course but was not satisfied with that. So I came over to RUclips and found you and your videos are so great and it's really helping. But I just have a issue looking for the Best Category to place my low contents books like Journals & Not Book's. I don't know if you could make a video concerning that☺️. Question, how can you undo titles that have been stuffed when published?
You can't edit a title once published. You would have to unpublish it and re-publish a new version.

I'm publishing on KDP a lot of notebooks with beautiful unique art covers. Do I have to have a unique name and subtitle for each one? You are the MOST helpful teacher I have found!

Hi Paul, thank you for all of your great content! It has sincerely helped me a lot. You are also very easy to listen to. I have a question regarding the title. Shouldn't we put the keywords in the title/subtitle we found when searching for a less competitive, but profitable niche? So instead of writing Cornell Notebook, a very competitive niche, we write Cornell Notebook for College Note Taking in the title, since it's less competitive and we have more chances to get on the first page. This is how I understood the point of niche research or am I wrong? Thank you for your help

Unfortunately, you can't change the title and subtitle after it;s been published. You would have to unpublish it and re-publish. You can change the keywords at any time.

A Google spreadsheet on what in particular? If it's the keywords I have on Gumroad then it would depend on what book you want to create.
Hello! I've been a subscriber for more than a year and I've learned so much from you, thank you! I do have an unrelated (to the video) question. My manuscripts keep getting errors on almost every page saying "This object is outside the margins", yet there is absolutely nothing outside the margins. I've always used your templates and everything was ok. It's extremely frustrating, there is nothing outside the margins, but I keep getting these errors. Any ideas, please? Thank you!
I don't really have any ideas other than that if they say there is something outside the margins they are usually correct. There must be something on those pages that KDP is detecting that is outside the margins. Make sure your bleed settings are correct too.

How is it that some authors have reviews that are purchase verified and are shown to have less reviews than non purchase verified. Not sour grapes, just wondering how unverified can be legitimately accepted without proof of purchase. Sorry for dragging on.
It's just Amazon's policy to allow both types of reviews to be accepted. When it comes to ranking they put more weight on verified proof of purchase reviews.

Unfortuantely, you would have to unpublish and re-publish it as a new book.
Do you ever make series books? Is it better to post separate (for example) Notary books or make them into a series?

" Resize the background or image on your cover so that it extends 0.125” (3.2 mm) beyond the trim line. All covers must be sized for bleed, which means you need to add an extra 0.125" (3.2 mm) along the top, bottom, and sides of your cover file. Once you have increased the size of your cover, extend any images or backgrounds that you want to reach all the way to the edge of the page 0.125” (3.2 mm) beyond the trim line. This prevents manufacturing issues when the cover is trimmed to size "
Your background image is probably not going right to the edge of the KDP template or the template size is not correct for the size you;ve entered and the number of pages.

Yes. As long as it's not something that's specifically trademarked.

I would avoid that. I remember reading somewhere once that Amazon doesn't like 'gift' in the title. It may be fone but I'm not 100%.

Yes, depending on the title. If it's a long title I would avoid doing that.
I created an ATV log book, nothing else like mine is on Amazon. I had trouble finding the categories to use for it, it ended up under camping. How can I change category and promote? I realize most people who ride ATV's are outside much of the time, but for us, we kind of forget which trails were horrid and which ones we liked, so keeping a log book of our travels is quite handy. I have a problem with category and promotion. Any of your expert help would be appreciated. I created the interior pages myself to fit trail riding on ATV's. Thanks!
Sounds like a great book. You can either change the categories in your KDP dashboard or you can contact KDP support and request which categories you would like your book to appear in.
@@paulmarles I wanted them to add a new category but they didn't do it. There are many items for ATV's but no separate category for them. They are not motor vehicles and they have categories for boats and motorcycles so not sure why not one for off roading or all terrain vehicles. I enjoy your videos they have helped me so much.

No. You have to unpublish the book and publish a new one.

Hi Paul, I have a question (please respond if possible). On my book I sell through KDP I got 2 customer 1 star reviews saying their book came printed upside-down. This effects my overall rating, but the fault is not mine but Amazons because they made a mistake in printing. I've been trying to contact them but nothing seems to work. Do you have any suggestions that I could do to have those 2 reviews removed because they are not reviewing the contents of my book, but rather the way Amazon printed them incorrectly? Thanks!
Unfortuantely not. You can try contacting KDP support but I think you will find the reviews will stay. It happens. For example books getting damaged in the post. It's frustrating I know.
@@paulmarles That is so frustrating. In their Community Guidelines for reviews, it literally says "Product condition and damage" is not allowed. Yet they won't follow their own rules and remove the reviews.
Does the same thing apply to high contents books?
To non-fiction yes but to most fiction keywords in titles is not as applicable.

My cover doesn't include the subtitle, however the title is exactly the one used during the setup.
No, it doesn't. Only the title has to appear on the cover or spine.
Strange. Here is the exact mail kdp sent me : "We checked your files and found issues you need to fix before your book can be published on KDP:
Cover
Update the subtitle in your cover file so that it matches the details you entered during setup.
Where possible, we give pages numbers with examples. To make sure your entire book meets our guidelines, please review your entire manuscript file and fix all issues."
I will try to change the cover a little bite a submit the book again.
Can a subtitle be two sentences?
Yes, but I would anything too lengthy. Short and succint is better.

That is the correct size for journals.
spell check and auto-correct make a lot of mistakes and it overrides your work.
Nothing is perfect but can be better than nothing whcich is what a lot of people are doing.
everyone has this idea of finding keywords, not a single one giving the right one.
all I think of is just make your own way strategy, too many videos from people will just get you confused.
