It’s funny how almost every sport you only root for one team or one player, but in golf you find yourself rooting and hoping for good shots from all of them and love to see it when they make em.
This sums up precisely how hard golf is, that we just want to see a good shot from anyone.
Agreed
I don't
Bc it’s such a cruel and hard game
True...i have few favorites but pretty much happy for everyone at the end tho win Major
I wasn’t old enough to appreciate prime tiger or Phil, so I’ll always be thankful that I got to experience both of them winning another major.
Your so right. I've been watching late 70's, early 80's golf as I was to young to appreciate them.
Late 80's and 90's golf was amazing.
Same, I never so prime tiger or Phil, so I'm so glad they won late in their careers. I'm also very glad to watch a Rory resurgence
Same. If you would’ve said in 2018 that we were gonna get another tiger AND Phil major, who would’ve believed it??
Underrated win by the media. One of the most historic and important wins ever
What got me was how much more game Phil had then Brooks, and I think Brooks is one of the best big game players all time. But Phil on tough track in the wind just had more weapons and the imagination and guts to use them. I agree it was way underrated performance compared to the treatment Tiger got after his Masters win.
@@tomretallick1719It's not comparable to Tigers win.
@@tomretallick1719Phil is great but Phil is not comparable to the 🐐.
@@azieldaly2965 Kopeka Poulter Molinria Finau all doubled 12. Cantlay three putted 16 Johnson bogeys 17 from the center of the fairway. Great win loved it no doubt, but Phil’s was more impressive.
He win at 50 years old...i don't remember in the professional sports other similar enterprise
LIV!!! Go Phil!!!!
This is one of the most underrated golf channels. Can’t tell you how many of these videos I’ve watched lol keep up the good work brother 🤝
You da man! Appreciate you, Spencer!
Agree!
@@tigerwoodsvids8287 - How do you get away with monetizing these videos? Obviously this content was not created by you! The last time I checked, this was called copyright infringement. 🤔❓❓
This channel is an inspiration! I would like to do so for other sports! Haha
Same here
Haven't watched or followed golf in years, had no idea Mickelson even won this tournament before seeing this video, but seeing Mickelson win is so nostalgic and inspirational, brought tears to my eyes. Maybe I'll come back to watching golf again.
Me too. I've gotten readdicted to the game (playing and watching) after about 20 years. I can still remember seeing Phil on TV for the first time, in the late 80s; ABC showed a short clip of him during a telecast, the focus being up and coming junior golfers. He was prob 18yo at the time. I thought "Yeah, need more lefties (like me) on tour". What a ride it's been for him and it's not over yet. Congrats.
Phil Mickelson is truly one of the all time greats! A boyish assassin.
To Hear that sound of compression when Phil hits is an amazing note and tone all it's own. Inspiring!
Did you cream your pants?
Its his Callaway epics he uses
One for us senior old timers, thank you Phil for the thrill. I’m pulling my Scotty and putting in my 8813 back in the bag. What a fabulous Sunday it was. Much “ALOHA” to you, your family and caddie. Get your US Open win and revenge will you please😎
Brooks was second to both Tiger in his legendary 2019 Masters win, and Phil in this tournament
7:10 best way to train for golf is to have someone yell in your ear "get in the hole" after every practice shot at the golf range.
Someone yelling get in the hole on every shot might be the most annoying thing about golf
Agreed. It must be very frustrating for the players to hear it almost every shot. Thankfully this side of the Atlantic we don't really do that
Nope, not really annoying. It’s just you.
@@vincentvincent4898 80 others here thought it was annoying, too. But now it's just you and the other two who think it's not annoying, instead, if you didn't "like" your own comment.
@@robbiehu2519 Yep, still NOT annoying😀 GET IN THE HOOOOOLE!!!!!! I love it!!!!
I agree it cringes me everytime I hear that.
I like the one guy who said “Phil the Rhythm”!! Lol little Cool Runnings reference
Phil the rhyme, get on up, it’s Trophy time 😤😤😤
11:26 Those people are braver than I am. If it was me hitting the ball, someone would be heading to the ICU
Indeed! There would be some serious body and head damage if they stood that close to me when I play that kind of shot.
Show off. I would duff it so hard under pressure that the ball would just roll a couple of feet in front of me to a roar of laughter…
ICU is full.
My Dad has always loved Phil, I love Phil and I bet $20 on this about 6 months before it happened in Las Vegas. paid $4020, I don't know what was better Phil Winning or the payout, Love you Phil. Btw made another $2200 playing craps before flying out of Vegas left with $6200!
That iron into 10 was amazing. Especially for a lefty. Congrats on #6
🇲🇾CONGRATULATIONS PHIL FROM KOTA DAMANSARA MALAYSIA 🇲🇾
What a win for Phil and an amazing Sunday. Amazing to watch the old guy I grew up watching win another
Yeah was so great watching it though also had made my day...so keep up
That trademark calm charisma Phil has, such a great player too watch.
Yes absolutely
Having his brother on the bag and a win this big, Good Times!
Good times oh yeah
I am just in amazement at how far Phil can still hit the ball. He was piping 320 plus yard drives on several of the holes. With his short game, that still keeps him competitive with guys on the tour half his age. What I really enjoyed seeing was Phil’s course management. You didn’t see him going for the “hero shot” as he might have done 15 years ago. He also was willing to take his medicine and accept a bogey when that was really the best score he could have made on the hole after an errant drive. In past, he would have taken a risky shot at the green and turned a bogey into a double or triple. It was great seeing a crowd that could actually add to the excitement of the event. Would love to see Phil get into contention next month at Torrey Pines and perhaps take home that elusive U.S. Open Trophy.
Some of those (16 for example) were very wind assisted. But he's obviously very fit, and technique gets you a long way. (See also Lee Westwood earlier in the season coming 2nd to Bryson by a shot, then beating him by a shot the next week.)
He had longer driver in bag too.
So in other words, Phil has started playing golf with Sun-tzu as his strategy coach.
Yeah, he seems much wiser now. Very different from the grip and rip it type of shots he used to do back in the day, I remember some of the ridiculous attempts he'd try make me shake my head.
It really was SO amazing
The game is better as result of this man's career. How many young golfers will be thought of that way when they're 51 years old? It takes humility, kindness to strangers, and talent.
One of the craziest & most thrilling final rounds I’ve ever seen and glad I saw it live. Phil winning his very likely last major at 50 yrs old and one of the craziest scenes ever in golf on the 18th.. wow
Fab video - many thanks! Great to see the beast of Kiawah Island again in all its glory - fell in love with it in '91 during the "war on the shore" Ryder Cup
Even at 51 Phil isn't at all suffering from loss off distance with his eriver! He's still hitting it one of the longest, and there's taller, bigger and younger guys ripping it. It's not often highlighted, but Phil hits it again far as anyone
170 with a low loft wood is pretty good speed lol
Have you ever seen Phil in person? He’s 6’3” and a solid 210. Not many guys out there that big and he swings hard!! Saw him on the range in 2015 and the other players were watching the show he put on. He was different from every other guy.
He has always been there for us. Never gives up. Thanks Phil!
He has been a great inspiration to so many people
Yooooo the last Clip Is shocking, seeing everyone with their Handy filming it.
Enjoy the moment and put it away god damn
Love these clips thanks
Golfing legend 🙏🙌
Thanks for uploading.
Turning back the clock seems to be a theme of 2021. Tom Brady in Super Bowl 55 (43 years, 188 days), Phil Mickelson here (50 years, 341 days, breaking a 53-year old record previously set by the late Julius Boros for oldest major winner), and now Helio Castroneves (46 years, 20 days) in the 2021 Indy 500. Good things come in threes too!
5:19 classic
Right, Phil pulls out his trademark move when it counts and down she goes.
He made it because someone said get in the hole. Can't believe someone called it!
Thank you!!!!
PHIL did it!! One for old times--ONE FOR ALL TIME!!!!
Thanks for the video!
He won this tournament on my birthday it was the most stressful birthday I have ever had😂😂😂😂
Phil’s appearance fees and sponsorship value have taken a quantum leap. Callaway better to be ready to lay out a boat load of cash.
He has had that kpmg for a long long time now
True!
Great post!
His first few shots were brutal for him and he never wavered
Old man still kick'n a**& takin names👍Phil,Phil,Phil! Congrats!!
New subscriber. Ty for your time. Great job as always!
Love it! Thank you, Paul!!
I couldnt play with sun glasses on.. The man isnt human..
Let’s gooooooo TIGER WOODS VIDS !!! The best !!!!
This is a beautiful course.
This course looks HARD. Props to Phil!
Played the Kiawah Ocean course this past week. Magnificent experience.
Looks like the terminator in those shades 😎 awesome Phil well in 👍
he was tied with Seve and joined Faldo with 6th career major wins. Def one of the best golf moments of the last few years
0:42 “let’s go pHiL”
That was awesome!!!
Was Fantastic
Imagine if these guys yelling "get in the hole" were hired to work on an adult movie film set some day.
The best part of no spectators this past year was not having to hear that...
Men don't have a problem with that hole.
@@tomace4898 Golf was way more tolerable to watch without everyone screaming like idiots every single shot.
That's what she said!
Started off the day kinda rough, surprised no one gave him a run
Probably because of how severe the winds were. I'm sure that made the course difficult for everyone.
So many great shots.
So many bad shots.
Not many just average shots.
Crazy round
That bunker shot is what got him going
never in my life have i played golf but mickelson's style is insane
I didn’t get a chance to watch this real time. I’m glad he won after that start.
The stars aligned and I wasn’t scheduled to work that day. I usually book off masters Sunday but I wasn’t too interested in the pga until I saw Phil had the 54 hole lead. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time!
@@codyzed331 I was at Arizona State when Phil was still a student there. I obviously like him, but even after the 3rd round I still thought that he might blow up and lose it. The golf and non golf world definitely wasn’t as stoked as when Tiger won the Masters. I’m like you in that everything stops for me during Masters week.
@@Divisiononebasketball GIVE PHIL PROPS. HE DEFINITELY EARNED THEM! OR DID I MISS SOMETHING & HE DIDN'T BECOME THE OLDEST MAJOR WINNER IN HISTORY?
@@mikebeasley6447 I’m not sure I know what you’re talking about. I think I wrote that I’m glad he won after his start. I already knew what historically his win meant.
5:21 this was the moment i think decisive for his win, he had slow start and he really needed this hole out
Phil looking physically excellent. Strong, a little soft to let us know he's eating well and weight training a bit, and staying flexible and hydrated. Good stuff.
Great work
Phil is a Superstar!
Awesome catch!
Hello. Nice to meet you. These are very inspirational videos.I want to see more videos so I can make a neighborhood ^^ I'll come back and watch good videos again. Thank you.
It's a miracle, Phil the Thrill.
Hola primo soy de chile y te e admirado tu esfuerzo que has echo por tu triunfo de corazón te felicito ❤tu prima de chile
I 'm missing the quiet of the pandemic games.
Is it just me or does that "GET IN THE HOLE!" gut really get on your nerves?
Nah I like it tbh
Yea it’s real fresh and new🙄
I actually like it
It's annoying AF
@@benjeffrey7577 then why don’t you encourage your friends to do after you hit a golf shot? Oh that’s right. You wouldn’t because it would be distracting, obnoxious, and annoying as fuck.
I felt that "oh god" at 14:04 lol
This was one of the best pga championships
5:18 dude called it
Phil is in insane shape now, compared to his old self. He’s definitely been on a good diet and it’s kicking other golfers asses.
“The Middle of the green would be awesome” aha
Fabulous win
The +15mph wind that day made this so difficult ! Great to watch
Yes great!!!
How did you screen record this? I can’t do it for some reason
The trouble with Mickelson was that once Tiger came on the scene and dominated, Phil coasted and was happy to soak up the top 10 finishes that made him millions without all the pressure of trying to be #1.
You really think he was just coasting and not trying to be #1? What makes you think that?
The trouble with Phil is his driver and putter can be shaky, regardless of Tiger Woods.
That chip in from bunker was dope
Yes it was really great
Congrats Phil... missed seeing Tiger as well...
These clowns need to stop screaming as soon as the ball is hit. On 18 I understand, but it getting ridiculous
Imagone Phil on the Seniors Tour. He's qualified! That would be a massacre
2022 Masters …playoff ….Tiger and Phil ….either one wins ….history
I get really tired of fans screaming "GET IN THE HOOOOOOOOLE" every time a player hits a shot. STOP IT!
Hey guys! Appreciate all of the comments on the vid! I started uploading some secondary Tiger content on my channel TWV2! bit.ly/30ryZyW Check it out! A lot of stuff that I was unable to post on this account!
nice Phil well played bro
great Lefty
can i ask you how you got these by the YT copyright thing?
they probably didn't, a lot of videos the copyright/trademark holder opts to simply take the profits made from the video rather than taking the video down
He was smoking that 2 wood original 1 TaylorMade
So glad I kept my it's a weapon with incredible accuracy.
What a cool moment. It was so weird seeing so many people walking up 18 after all the covid nonsense 😅
Played 2wks after on Saturday and almost holed #5, and pared most of the back but front was BRUTAL. Great course and great resort
If you saw Koepka's pathetic comments after the final round, you'll understand why 20,000 people in the gallery were rooting for Phil and 3 people were rooting for Koepka.
Why would they be rooting against Koepka in the final round from comments he made from after the tournament ?!
Time travellers
I get to play this course this summer and I was super excited till I saw Phil only it hit like 5 fairways lol I’m screwed. Gonna need a crate of Kirklands to get through all 18.
14:58 such a hard shot
For my Golfer Fans he is my favorite of all time not because of his crazy shots but his personality
But if your a fan of football you see a lot of Carson Wentz and if your a fan of crazy trick shots
Phillip is the K I N G of the Bunker.
I was the 1000th like
this is better than going to the movies
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a worse telecast. Like at 6:52 where they don’t show the putt at all. Throughout the telecast, the trackman (which we’ve grown accustomed to) is either working or not working I guess based on the producer’s whim. About as bad as Fox’s production of the US Open at Chambers Bay.
I cried.
Huh???
I watched the whole tournament live and now watching it recorded...I am mad
First time I saw him was at troon. Just walks up to the tee, so what have we got here he says to his caddie. His swing was as smooth as silk, lefties always look good. Hitched his trousers and easy swing. No chopping down trees for phil.
Wow...that was hard to watch so many poor shots. Mickelson's all over the place. Yeah, still managed to pull it out.
Mickelson could probably win a major at 60. He'll likely still compete for the majors and U.S. Open to near 60.
Maybe he can win a LIV event at 60 😉
Didn’t realize how rough of a start he had
