Dose that go for the same for Honda Civic 1999 both fans should turn on and off at the same time I’m having a overheating problem
Y
I Love how Bigdog explains wiring diagrams. It clicks for me. My favorite/go-to Honda guy. For sure
Thanks for the comment 👍!
Thank you so much for this video ! My husband and I were trying to figure it out. The tapping method is definitely the car saver. I changed the fuse, the coolant, everything and now my stress is gone. You deserve an award 😇 thank you sm.
Absolutely incredible. I went along step by step exactly how you did it with my 2007. I did that tap test and it came on. I suppose I’ll be installing a new fan. Thanks very much
Very nicely done video! The time you take to explain everything is very clear and concise! I have a mechanical background but always struggle with electrical testing and diagnosis! Thank you for an excellent video.
Nice diag. Don't forget the owner can run the heat inside the cabin to try to alleviate over heating due to a fan not working.
What if they tried that to no avail bc even on full heat, full blast... The air is simply coming out cold? Not a stitch of heat? 🤔
Cuz that's the boat (Honda 😆) that I'm in right now
@kcstonemenaut3707 there may be a not enough coolant in the system. Check if the coolant is low. If it is you'll need to find how why it's low and fix that leak
You absolutely do the best diagnostic videos I have seen! Keep up with the great work!
I appreciate the comment, thank you!
Followed your video to the tee and determined the same issue of "bad fan". Thank you so much for putting this video together and sharing it here on RUclips.
Nice investigative diagnosis. I’d love to see the repair. Hopefully you can treat us to that. Good job. Thanks
I'll see what I can do, thanks for the comment!
It’s nice to finally have a good detailed video. Amazing instructions. Please keep making videos
He explained it very clearly. Well done. It was nice to watch.
Very informative and easy to understand. You diagnosed it professionally step by step and cautiously. Cant thank you enough for this video because my brother called me with the same issue vehicle year and model and here I am. 👍🏽
The best diagnostic videos I have seen. My son have the same car. Thank you
Awesome 👍 nice work this video has me more focused on my 2003 Honda Accord and your videos are helping me figure out diagnostics thank you for your help.
👍
Nice guide on the diagnosis. I had already checked the fuses but did the tap test before messing with the relays. Bingo! Problem found. Thanks.
And I was there for your 1st video! Great diag as always Dave. Stay cool!
And I appreciate the support Mike, thank you!!!
Excellent explanation, nice diagnosis, I love your details, I started following you. Very professionalism
That tap test a game changer 😎 thanks for the vid learned a lot
Excellent diagnosis and explanation. Learned a lot! Thanks.
Love your videos and your amazing diagnosis steps at work. I learned a lot from your knowledge and great
videos. Yes, please do a video of the fan replacement repair. I appreciate you so much!
Thanks for the comment 👍!
Thank you so much for this very detailed explanation.
Bro this video was so informative and helpful thanks so much!!! This is why I call RUclips my real dad 👍
Thank you very much for the time you took on this. Obviously, you would have done the old tap test first thing but you did all that diagnostics for our benefit. Nice video as my daughters 04 accord overheated yesterday, so off I am to deal with it.
Had this same issue with my 2006 Acura tl. Gave the fan an little tap tap taroo and it works. Replaced it. Great video.
thank you sir fan from the philippines. your the best when it comes to explaining things in my country we always do the fan tap first thank you sir
Thank you, this video has been very helpful!
Great diagnostic and a great advice and yes absolutly like to see the replasman to lorn more
Nice job breaking down the troubleshooting! Good info for DIYers. 😎
👍
Great explanation of the diagnosis logic!!!
Thanks for the comment!
Masterfully done, thanks for sharing
Another amazing video! Thank you so much!
You have a new subscriber man thanks keep up these videos on the accords
Very informative video , much thanks 🙏
Great job on being specific to what could go wrong. Always good to see someone be as meticulous in their work, it shows you care about what you do! Both my fans work with the AC on. However if I drive around the block with the windows down and the air conditioning off, I never see, or hear the radiator fan go on. Although the temp gauge inside never seems to get past the normal mark. Could it be that the sending unit (which is brand new) never gets hot enough to trigger the ground to engage the fan? Thanks again for the video!
Even, I have the same question. As per Honda, both the fans should come on irrespective of whether the AC is ON or OFF.
Great tuition video! I need some of these tools!
Great video and diagnostics!
Very informative and entertaining video. I liked whole process of elimination. I'm pretty sure fan replacement video is ready already, let's see it please 😃.
👍
i wish i could give you more likes this is amazing work to say the least in detailed instructions 🙏🏼
Dave all your videos are a thumbs up.thanks for sharing your troubleshooting process. Is it hot out by you? It’s been very hot and humid up here in NY. You and family stay safe and well. Artie 🇺🇸👍
Should be 109 degrees today with some humidity too, not too fun to be outside! Thanks for the comment!
Thanks for the informative video. 👍
Nice video. I learned a lot.
Wow you did such a thorough job explaining everything. My condenser fan isnt spinning so now to do the checks you recommended. I am suspecting I need a new condenser fan. 2000 accord 3.0 coupe.
Liked and subbed!!!
Good video, I work on lots of old Honda's! Good job....
Thanks for all the info🙂🤙
Really great explanation. Thank you, sir.
Thanks!
Great video. Let's see that fan replacement!
I'll see what I can do, thanks for the comment!
Thank u for detailing us on the wire harness connector mechanism: I broke the other fan harness holder changing alternator : baby zip tie works fine but is a constant reminder
👍
Thanks BigDog.
My 2003 4Cyl Accord Coupe threw a brake light on the dash. Parking brake and/or brake fluid level problem.
Unplugged the master cylinder level switch and the light goes out.
I'll look for a video where you have addressed this.
VERY informative.
Superb diagnostic explanation. A one quality.
As for an instructional/ do it your self video, this one is excellent! It leaves no questions unanswered.
Although I am new to the party, I loved the explanation is fantastic and easy to understand. My 2007 Accord radiator fan is not working so need to diagnose it as per your advice. Thanks
Very thorough! 👍
Thanks! 👍
Great information.....!
Nice job, well explained with lots of details. Tks for the video.
Very educational video
This was a very thorough video and although I am inclined to believe I’m gonna be replacing a water pump because the leak was massive right below and slightly behind the pump, I verified the fuses and relays were good in my gen 6 Honda accord but the vid was good so I watched to the end and I am leaving with what feels like a good series of steps to follow, if ever confronted with the situation again
Awesome video...never once fast forwarded!
Thanks for the comment 👍!
Tap test still works for me till this day 😂👍🏽
Nice job. Very thorough in diagnosing the problem. Are you working on Part 8 of the Accord project?
Yes, I am finalizing the Accord Project videos. Lots of footage to edit which takes a long time but they should be out soon. Thanks for the comment!
Great video no one tells you about other fuse box in the car only one under the hood.
You have my subscription and thanks
Very informative
you are the man !!!
Good video thanks!
useful video
Thanks slot
Thanks for the video. I have the same engine in 04 Element 👍
No problem 👍!
I would like to see a video on the fix thank you. Great information
Buen video. Saludos.
Thanks 👍!
This was a great explanation, especially in how to understand wiring diagrams. Where can we find those to download for our cars? (And yes let’s now see a fan install video 😁)
Unfortunately you have to pay to get access to wiring diagrams (and service information). I use a couple different services and I pay a lot of money each year to have access to them. Thank you for the comment!
@@BigDog50001 ah ok. Back in the day through the forums we had a link with a login to super accurate parts diagrams, I still remember the password but have long forgotten the site address. It was great for figuring out part numbers though! Anyway tough luck that the wiring diagrams are close hold; I always have my Helms manual but it would be nice to have computer reference. Well thanks for the continued super helpful vids!
Thanks your helped me
👍
No oil leaks on an 04 K MOTOR!!! very well maintained.
Today i have the same problem to the same car 2007 Honda xls , I was driving and the steam started coming from the engine after all 😢 I opened the engine Than I tested the fan as your show in this video but not think happened !!! I tried a swing between the fuses! but my diagram fuses boxe shows both of them in green of the a/conditional and the engine in 20 amperage ,??? the engine fan not working and the a/c works ! in the same time the radiator is empty of liquid ,!!!😢😢😢😊😊😊tomorrow I will finish the work than from there hopefully it will resolve the problem !! Tank you for your show is really helpful !! I appreciate this Sir !
When the ole tap test works, as you are recording: means that the Car "god" smiled upon you :)
tks help me a lot😮
Thanks, just had the thermostat replaced and still had intermittent overheating....guess I need a new fan 👍
Excellent video. Boy did I learn a lot. Would the fickleness of the motor be caused because it's a shaded pole motor?
Thanks!
Thanks for the support, I appreciate it!!
You very good
Nice very informative and very detailed! I noticed you didn’t check the fan switch thats at the bottom. could it be that as well? I have seen some other videos. It was the fan switch. Thanks in advance. Great channel by the way.
Fantastic video✅✅
Question, if your coolant is low can you add water for emergency
What's the chances? Have same problem on my 2010 honda civic today and I get a notification of a new video with same problem. Love your videos
👍
When showing the coolant at first maybe add the whole atmospheric pressure speech I almost took it off but kept watching 😂😂 3 mins later u bring up it could’ve burned my pretty face off 😂😂
Having a different issue. Had my heater control valve crack and leak out coolant. Replaced the valve, now the fans don't come on at idle. Not sure if I have still have air in the coolant system or if the cooling fan switch is bad.
Hey Bud Dog, I have a 05 Honda element and having issues with my transmission. Pull code, it's telling me a solenoid issue. I have replaced all solenoid and still have the same issue. What test can I perform to see if the solenoid are getting any voltage?
Hey there I have an 87 Honda Accord LXI sedan automatic that started overheating while idling. Wasn't in traffic or anything just had the car turned on. No coolant leak or anything. Do you think it might be the thermostat?
Any non Honda clutch assemblies you have or do consider ?
180,000 original clutch 2007
My 04 Accord isn’t overheating. But coolant keeps leaking from the reservoir cap. I have replaced the cap from the dealer. There is no seal required for the cap. Any suggestions?
Appreciate your very detailed videos!
I put new relays I did the AC test to see if the fans work they do it’s not the fans and it’s not my relays do you think I could have a bad coil and if there is a bad coil for when the car is off to make the fan turn on to help cool the engine how would I fix this
I have a 2005 accord that overheats after driving it for a bit every time both the radiator and the ac fan work when I checked and it has coolant what do you think is the problem?
It might be bc I don’t have coolant in the actual radiator I’m gonna put some and see if it works
My 05 honda accord 2.4 has been overheating. It loses coolant but don’t see leaks. I’ll fill the coolant and after about 2 weeks it’ll start overheating and when i go to fill it, it takes quite a bit. Has new radiator, don’t get a code for thermostat, not sure what it could be. Both fans are working fine. Could it be the pump? Head gasket?
So my fans do the same thing but one of them don’t come on until I guess it warms up and gets to a certain temperature? Is that normal or ? Should I change the fan i need to upload a video
I follow everything you have shared. My problem is the radiator fan does not come on when the temp threshold is reach. I have to turn on the a/c to get the radiator fan to turn on. This leads me to change the temp sensor at the engine block. I did that. It did not correct the problem. What im i missing?
Would the fans come on even if I don't have freon in the ac system
Have you changed the knock sensor on this car.
I have a 2006 Honda accord my big fan stopped so what kind of part do I need to order?
I just replaced the serpentine belt on my Honda Accord I noticed its overheating which it didn't over heat before it snapped I did notice where coolant goes the little white cap on the hose is cracked could that be the issue
My sister in law has a Honda civic Lx (2002) 1.7 and the car keeps overheating after about an hour. We replaced the radiator, hoses, and the thermostat and still have the issue. Any possible solutions you could think of? Thanks.
So my kids 2004 as overheating. Last place I would have thought to start with would be the fan. We no shit, I drive it, run AC, fan kicks on I go look and only one fan working. Tap tap.... Fan comes right on. So what causes this and is this going to be a recurring problem?
I have a question, my radiation fan doesn't come and when when i tested the fan trigger below the radiator... Only one terminal bad ground, no power... How do i trace that..
