    • @duffman18

He's the best baseball player to ever wrestle in the WWE. Yes, he was even better than the legend known as Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz, who was actually just the Brooklyn Brawler except dressed in a baseball uniform and wearing facepaint to make him look like an inanimate baseball come to life, an inanimate baseball become animate. It's a shame he never faced Pete Rose in a match, because Rose would have got in tons of hits, I bet...
I'm not making this stuff up for a joke by the way, it actually happened, all of it. There was indeed a human baseball as a character, and Pete Rose made multiple appearances in the ring over the years.
Considering how huge they are in India these say, the WWE, they should bring Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz back as a character and introduce a new character dressed up as a cricket ball, and have the 2 characters have one long feud with each other. Cricket is the 2nd most popular sport on earth, a large part of that being Asian countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and, and it could be goofy and comic enough for it to just work, to just be hilarious because of how silly and daft it is. They're already trying to gain more popularity in India as it is because of how big a market it is.
Plus, even in West Asia, cricket is exploding in popularity. Like in Saudi Arabia. And who are the wwe working very very closely with over the last few years? The Saudi government.
So yeah, what is Pete Rose doing these days? He could come back to wwe yet again and be the new manager of the new human-baseball, in his feud against the human-cricketball. Cos he can't wrestle any more, he's too old for that.

I grew up a Reds fan back in the 60's and 70's. It was the greatest time to be a baseball fan, and a huge part of that was because of Pete Rose. It pretty much ruined baseball for me after that, because I never saw another player that played the game with the passion that Pete played with. Now it just seems like a bunch of overpaid guys that don't even care to be on the field.

Say what you want about Pete's gambling scandal. I'm 65, lived in NKY at the time I grew up watching Pete, went to tons of games, never missed a Reds game on TV. I would bet my HOUSE the man NEVER bet against the Reds. He is the one player that you always knew, regardless of the score...he was gonna go ALL OUT, ALL THE TIME !
I saw a top 10 position players ever list that some schlub came up with on here...who OBVIOUSLY did NOT know Baseball, that did NOT include PETE OR TED WILLIAMS ! The same guy had a top 10 pitchers list that didn't include NOLAN RYAN ! Anyway, I just left him a list of Pete's All Time MLB Records he held at his retirement...they are as follows...
Games played, 3,562; AB's, 14,053; and most seasons with 200 hits or more, 10 ! Currently..He is second with 746 doubles. Tris Speaker is first with 792. Sixth in runs scored with 2165 (Rickey Henderson is first with 2295) Fourteenth in bases on balls with 1566 (Barry Bonds is first with 2558) / 37th in fWAR with 80.2 (Babe Ruth is first with 168.4) Add to that he is the ONLY player to log at least 500 games at 5 different positions ( there was no DH in the NL when he played, so these were actual positions ) he is also the ONLY player to be named an All - Star at 5 different positions ! But this stat is the BIGGEST to me...Pete Rose played in 1972 games that his teams won....not just the most in MLB history, but the most of ANY athlete in ANY sport ! Mic Drop !
